Zone de Défense - Paris The Zone de Défense - Paris was charged with protecting the City of Light and its surrounding areas. Formed around a nucleus of reservists, the territorial formation counted on several regular infantry units, training units, testbed vehicles being prototyped, Gendarmerie military police, and Paris’ own Garde Républicaine to protect the French capital. The Zone de Défense - Paris deploys a wide variety of units, from CONSCRITS to stubborn GARDES RÉPUBLICAINS , heavy BERLIET GBC 8KT trucks, mechanized GENDARMES MOBILES in AMX-13 VTT and VBRG APCs, BROUSSARD MH-1521 observation planes, and even elite counter-terrorism GIGN and EPIGN operators.
