    August 2026 update brings zoom feature, numbering tool for drawing on screen, and Japanese language.You can now zoom in on the screen using the zoom feature. It's available for screen, window and area capture modes which is available through the user interface or using hotkeys.Numbering tool is also added to the list of tools for drawing on screen to help making professional tutorials.     February 2025 update allows you to move and scale camera, image and text directly from the preview section without the need to use the options for each one. It makes it way quicker to get the perfect position for visual elements.Additionally, you can now assign separate hotkeys to toggle-like actions such as Start/Stop recording. For example, instead of using a single key such as F10 to stop and start recording, you can assign F10 to start and F12 to stop. New hotkeys to change the captured display in multi-display setups are also available from the Hotkeys section in settings, along with a search box to filter the list of hotkeys.   • December 2025 Update: 320kbps audio, multitrack recording and H264 profile - 6 December 2025

    December 2025 update adds new features: 320kbps output audio, multitrack recording, H.264 profile selection (base/main), ability to exclude UI from screen capture and manual theme selection. In this update, maximum quality for output audio has been increased to 320kbps (requires Windows 11). You'll also be able to use multitrack recording feature to capture audio sources onto individual tracks.Additionally, you can now choose to use the main profile for hardware H.264 encoders.     May 2025 update adds an option to use the new screen capture APIs in case of issues with the default method. By enabling Prefer modern screen capture option from Screen & pointer options, new capture APIs (WGC) is used instead of the default (DXGI). Additionally, Screenbits can now detect if Camera or Microphone are not accessible due to Windows Privacy settings. It prevents recording error and lets you know before recording starts.     January 2025 update brings new features for scheduler, audio sources and hotkeys, and a few improvements for the user interface. Scheduler now supports pause mode which enables automatic pause at certain time, duration or size of the output file. You can now mute/unmute audio sources from UI or using hotkeys, supporting push-to-talk and push-to-mute. Speaking of hotkeys, middle and extra mouse buttons can now be used for hotkeys. As for the user interface improvements, you can now view name of the monitor for selected display and name of the application for selected window.   • April 2024 update: New media processing engine, audio and watermark options - 6 May 2024

    April 2024 update brings a new media processing engine which improves recording performance. New audio and watermark options are also available in the update. You can now change volume from the app for both system audio and the microphone. It can increase by up to 200% in case you need the sound to be louder for your recordings. An option is also added to turn off surround sound in order to get maximum volume (as you hear) for system audio in case you use a virtual surround headphone. Watermark overlay gets more customization options in the update as you can now change text alignment and outline thickness for the watermark text.     August 2023 update fixes an issue related to AMD VCE for video encoding which was preventing the software to use the hardware encoder properly.   • June 2023 Update: HEVC encoding, Window capture mode and area presets - 29 June 2023

    June 2023 update brings the ability to choose HEVC hardware encoder (if available) for video encoding. It also adds a "Window" capture mode to simplify capturing window areas as you can now choose application windows from a list. Area presets are also available to save frequently used areas in Area capture mode and easily restore them at any time.   • February 2023 Update: Performance improvements - 12 February 2023

    As we add new features to Screenbits through each update, we also want to make sure the app is working as expected and performing better and better within each update. February 2023 update brings significant performance improvements in hardware video encoding. Compared to the previous version, you may experience up to 50% less CPU usage if you use hardware acceleration for video encoding. This improves recording quality and framerate of the output video and also allows your system to dedicate more resources to other applications or the game which you play during recording.
