- Logic World update 0.92.3 is out now - 9 July 2026
Hello Logicians, We've just released game update 0.92.3. This update contains many improvements and optimizations to game startup, lots of improvements to modding, and a healthy dose of bugfixes. We hope you enjoy this update! More updates are coming soon :) And by the way, in case you haven't seen, you can now support Logic World development on Patreon. Full changelog for update 0.92.3Game startupAdded a loading screen with progress bars during game startup. This screen is visible after Unity has finished loading, which takes about 5 seconds. The game starts up much faster now, especially when you have a lot of mods installed. If the game cannot start because of an error in a settings file, this information will now be presented on an error screen instead of silently failing.A much more helpful error is now shown during startup if the base mod MHG is not installed.Fixed the game window n…
- Logic World Wednesdays #132: The Single-File Edition - 29 April 2026
Single-file mods - EcconiaEver since Logic World released in early access, mod loading has been supported. Mods generally are dropped in the GameData/ folder. Most mods are distributed as folders containing all their assets. But Logic World always offered to also load mods as archive files (.zip, renamed as .lwmod). But due to how Logic World was structured internally, archive mods have been missing much of the functionality available to folder mods. This made them unattractive for modders that knew of them.At the beginning of 2025, I had enough of distributing my mods as folders, and I decided I wanted to use archive mods from then on. So, I set out to fix the deficiencies of archive mods. Now a year later, I can announce that archive mods are now fully supported by the game! Why do we want to support archive mods?Modders have always used folder mods. Folders are easy to edit, restructur…
- Logic World Wednesdays #131: Can I get your opinion on a few things? - 25 March 2026
Localizor is no more morePress F to pay respects to Localizor, which is shutting down on March 31.We've been using Localizor to crowdsource translations for Logic World since 2020. Over the years, more than 200 people have contributed to Logic World translations. Thanks to this incredible community effort, today you can choose to play Logic World in 24 different languages! This is quite amazing, and we'd like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who's volunteered their time to translate Logic World. Thank you all! You are very awesome! We'd like to keep community translations going, so with Localizor's shutdown we'll have to find another system for it.We're leaning towards self-hosting an instance of Weblate. Weblate is very widely used, and it has a bunch of features that actually make it an upgrade over Localizor. To see how Weblate looks and feels, check out this instance wher…
- Logic World Wednesdays #130: The Game Starts Up Better Now - 26 February 2026
New loading bars - EcconiaStarting the game used to take a lot of time, especially with 30 mods installed. Think of a Windows installer with its loading bar stuck at 99%. It's probably working, but it feels broken. In Logic World, there were no loading bars during startup. The real issue wasn't speed. It was perception. If something moves or spins, you know progress is happening and you're more patient. If nothing happens, it feels like the program froze.Nothing was shown because LogicWorld completed most of its initialization before rendering the first frame. That meant staring at a blank screen for more than 15 seconds. There were other issues as well. If you tried to close the game during startup, it kept loading anyway and only exited after finishing initialization. On Windows, you might even get the beloved and pointless "LogicWorld is not responding" popup. The solution is to load th…

Hello and welcome to the first Logic World Wednesdays of 2026! I hope this year brings you peace and joy. It will certainly be a big year for Logic World, so let's get into the blog!Sometimes we have multiple writers on these blogs, but this one is written entirely by and from the perspective of me, Jimmy.New schedule! You may recall from this video that in September 2025 I switched to working on Logic World full-time. I gave myself the deadline of January 1st by which to grow Logic World revenue enough to cover my rent and food. In the months since, we shipped the Subassembly update, the Demo World, subassemblies on the Creation Hub and many other improvements to the game & website; I also learned a lot about marketing and distribution, and we successfully got Logic World in front of new audiences, driving up sales significantly. However, January 1st has come and gone, and I was not able…

- Logic World Wednesdays #127: Somehow, the Demo World returned - 11 December 2025
The number of this week's LWW is a Mersenne prime. Savour the feeling, because this may be the last time it will ever happen. The Demo WorldLogic World is extremely cool once you sit down and spend several hours building stuff, but when you first start playing, it's pretty empty and unexciting. While there's a certain charm to watching everything grow from nothing, and bringing about that transformation entirely by your hand, the initial emptiness is a pretty bad and underwhelming experience for new players who are just getting started with the game. We can definitely do better. If you ever played TUNG, the old prototype for Logic World, you may have fond memories of the "Demo World" that we built for that game. When you start up TUNG for the first time, it prompts you to "Check out the demo world!", and in that demo world there are a series of simple circuits laid out for you to explore,…
- Logic World Wednesdays #126: New World Record! - 4 December 2025
Welcome back to Logic World Wednesdays, your weekly digest of everything the Logic World team has been up to.We released update 0.92.1 last week, and it seems to have gone over well, with no reports that the update catastrophically broke anybody's computer and deleted all their data. Hooray!Anyways, here's what's new with us.Ambient occlusion tweaks - JimmyOur ambient occlusion has looked kind of grainy and bad ever since we updated to Unity 6. This week I took some time to tweak it and reign it in to look more normal and good.BeforeAfterYou might have to open these images separately to see the difference; it's pretty subtle. Look at the edges where two surfaces meet.Creation revisions - FelipeThis week I added a highly requested revision system for creations that allows you to upload an improved version of your world or subassembly without having to make a separate creation:Pictured: @…

Hello! We're releasing a game update today to fix some issues. There isn't much else to say about it so I'll wrap it up here lol. More updates soon! Here's everything new in 0.92.1:OutlinesAdded setting: "Outline Style"Added two new outline styles, "Fast" and "Balanced". Is it Wednesday again already? Yes it is. Wow. Nice. Cool. Good.Update next week! We're basically done Logic World update 0.92.1, which fixes many minor issues with update 0.92. We intend to release 0.92.1 next week. You can test the almost-finished update right now in the public-previews branch. Instructions for that along with a changelog for today's preview update are at the end of this post. Are there any last minute changes or fixes you really want to see in this update? Let us know!New outline styles - JimmyLogic World uses an "outline" effect to highlight certain objects in the world. The outlines have been problematic recently and so this week I staged an intervention.A brief history of outlines in Logic WorldIn the earliest prototypes for Logic World, then called The Ultimate Nerd Game, I used a library called Outline Effect by Cakeslice. When I had performance problems, I ended u…
- Logic World Wednesdays #124: Preview of the next preview - 7 November 2025
Hello gamers! It's been two weeks since update 0.92 came out. We've seen a positive reception to it, with player numbers we haven't seen since launch and many new people joining the Logic World discord. Most of all, we've enjoyed all the subassemblies you've uploaded to the Creation Hub. Thank you for playing!Improvements and fixes for 0.92.1Despite 0.92 not being very old at this point, we have already noticed and fixed a few issues for 0.92.1, as you can see in the remainder of this section. On this note, when you read this, the new preview version should already be live, so if you want to help us test (or would like the latest fixes and are not afraid of potential new bugs), please, once again, select the public-previews branch in steam.Networking - GHXXAlmost 30 years ago, IPv6 was conceptualized and now, thanks to a new modem, it appears that I can finally use it. Logic World also…

- Logic World Wednesdays #123: 'Twas the Week Before Update - 17 October 2025
...and all through Mouse Hat Games, all the developers were blogging, writing sections and attaching their names.Okay, but seriously, we're finishing up the next game update (0.92, The Subassembly Update) after exactly 19 months of work. It's a big update and we're very proud of it. It's the start of a new era for Logic World: the game has graduated from a janky proof-of-concept to a polished, stable experience. (In our opinion, at least.)v0.92 will officially release one week from today, on October 22nd, 2025. We have a release candidate ready for testing now (more details at the bottom of this blog). It's been a busy week for us as we prepare for the update. Here's some of what we've been working on!Subassembly uploads - Felipe, JimmyWe've added subassemblies to the Creation Hub! - Logic World Wednesdays #122: The Numbered Edition - 9 October 2025
We've been working on Logic World for eight years, and we've been sharing our progress on this blog for six of those. This week, we've decided to start counting our blogs, and it turns out this is the one hundred and twenty-second Logic World Wednesday. Numbering the blogs gives them a sense of their place in our overall journey. This blog is #122, so you can tell we've done a lot of work before today! And it makes us consider the future. What will this game look like when we reach LWW 200? or 300? We were inspired to start doing this by the Factorio crew, whose most recent blog is Factorio Friday Facts #438. If they never release another blog and we don't miss a single week, it will only take us 6 years to catch up 😉 Anyways, on to this week's news about Logic World, the indie video game we're building where you can invent a new computer! The next update is just around the corner! We'…
- Logic World Wednesdays: All That Sparkles Is Ruby - 25 September 2025
The Rubening is Complete - FelipeAs I talked about previously, for the past couple months I've been working on rewriting the logicworld.net website and all our online services using the Ruby on Rails framework in order to tremendously simplify the whole codebase and development experience, thus making it easier to add new features.I'm pleased to announce that everything is now running on the new codebase powered by Rails! The migration was performed on 2025-09-20 and it went pretty much as well as I could have hoped, there were only a couple minor issues that I sorted out soon after. Additionally, the server is now hosted in Germany, which means that our European-and-adjacent users should see an improvement in latency while hopefully still being quick enough for our friends over on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean. This new website brings with it a bunch of miscellaneous improvements…

- Logic World Wednesdays: Back with a Bang - 10 September 2025
Hello Logicians! It's been a year and a half since the last installment of Logic World Wednesdays, our weekly devblog. Well, we're back, and you can expect regular (hopefully weekly!) blogs until at least the end of this year. I (Jimmy) made a little video where I talk about what happened and what's coming next. The short version is that we didn't make enough money with LW to sustain full-time work on it, and I had to get another job. But I've realized that making Logic World is the thing I want to do most, so I left my other job and I'll be focused on LW full-time for as long as my savings last. If I can grow Logic World revenue enough to pay for my rent and groceries, I'll continue full-time Logic World work for as long as it takes to finish the game. If we make money beyond that, I'll be able to bring the other team members on full-time as well. I'm going to try very hard to grow our…
- Logic World now has Steam Cloud support - 8 April 2025
Salutations, Steamers! We've just enabled Steam Cloud for Logic World. Your builds will now be automatically backed up to the cloud and synchronized between devices. How does this work exactly When you exit Logic World, Steam will synchronize some of your game files with the cloud. When you start Logic World, Steam will download the cloud files to make sure you have the latest version. If there's a conflict between the cloud files and your local files, Steam will warn you about this and give you some options for what to do about it. The full list of files that will be synchronized is: All your saved sandboxes (i.e. everything in the `saves` folder) All your saved subassemblies (i.e. everything in the `subassemblies` folder) The subassemblies feature is not yet available in the stable version of the game, but you can try it out in the preview versions (see below!) Your list of saved mult…
