Hey Everyone! 👋 We have some Mighty big news to yell about in our latest Patch v1.2.0, specifically for anyone who was loading game save data from before the last Patch v1.1.24. Players loading older game saves should no longer experience crashes when opening the notebook, inventory or menu! (Insert Mighty Yelling here!) This nasty bug took a lot of work to identify, but with help from our team plus testing from some of our community members, and some verification with UNITY THEMSELVES, we’re feeling pretty good that it’s squashed. Hey Everyone! 👋 If you are a new player and picked up The Big Con during the Steam Winter Sale, thanks a ton! ❤️ This post is specifically about a potential bug for people who may have picked it up earlier, and are loading save data from before Patch v1.1.24 (launched Tuesday December 14th, 2021). We've had a small (but still concerning) number of reports from some folks who had game saves from prior to our last update, where they are hitting crashes when opening the notebook, inventory or menu. We are aware of this bug and have been troubleshooting around it; and we are happy to say that we think it has wriggled close enough to the surface for us to figure out what is causing it... right before we shut down for the holidays. Hey Grifters, patch 1.0.25 is now live on Steam! We wanted to hustle (GET IT??) this one out to you to solve a couple issues in one quick push. We couldn’t have found these issues without the love and help of our awesome community, so if you’re reading this, chances are it's because of you and people like you that it got done so quickly. V1.0.25 fixes two misfiring achievements, so achievement hunters that are up for a replay should have anything they missed get checked off. More importantly though, the patch adds a quick fix to recenter the camera on Ali whenever the game is paused. This is a fast and easy fix to make sure that say, if you failed on the Midlands Hormliner and the camera got stuck? As long as you can pause the game, the camera will find you again. As always, you can talk to us on the Steam Community forums or in our Discord, and let us know if you notice anything weird…

We've noticed that some players who played our demo are finding a buggy pause menu. If your pause menu is giving you issues, there are two steps to fix this. 1. If you still have the demo, please uninstall it from your steam library; 2. Reset your save data from the options menu. If Hypnospace Outlaw was the perfect distillation of 90s internet culture, then Mighty Yell's debut game The Big Con is a similarly concentrated dose of 90s pop culture. Pastel swirls, bum bags and rad catch phrases abound in this coming of age thrift adventure, in which teenager Ali must loot her way across America to save her mum's video rental store from debt collectors. With just a fistful of dollars to her name at the start of her four-odd hour road trip, Ali will need to bag 97,000 of them by the end of it to come home victorious, and she'll do it via that most tried and tested of video game tropes: the swing meter mini-game. The Tribeca Film Festival has nothing to do with E3, aside from the fact that it's going on right now. Oh, and they invited eight upcoming narrative-focused games to be involved this year for their first game award category. Several of the bunch, Sable , Harold Halibut , Kena: Bridge Of Spirits , and more are games we're quite looking forward to around these parts.
