- Ten years on, Owlboy developers are remastering their first shoot-em-up - 30 March 2023
Owlboy developers D-Pad Studio are swooping back in time to revisit their very first game, Savant - Ascent, originally released ten years ago . Savant - Ascent Anniversary Edition is remastering the shoot-em-up platformer in which you control Savant - avatar of Norwegian music producer Aleksander Vinter - with new stages, bosses, powerups, and a revamped soundtrack by Vinter himself. The remaster will launch on PC and other platforms later this summer. Read more

- Owlboy Patch 25th of May 2022 - 25 May 2022
This build fixes a crash that may occur when backtracking, which prevented players from returning to the final dungeon. It also updates our backend, which may fix other crashes or stability issues on some PCs. This patch should fix the backtracking crash on all platforms.
- Owlboy Patch 4th of May 2022 - 4 May 2022
We received reports that the new version of the game was still crashing for some players, and while we work on fixing this issue, we have decided to bundle the pre-patch version of the game in the installation, so players who are experiencing issues can effortlessly use an older version which may work for them. When you start Owlboy from Steam, you may now choose the current version by choosing "Play Owlboy", or the original XNA-based version from before the 2022 update, by choosing "Play Owlboy (original version)". Happy adventuring!

This is a hotfix for a crash that some users experienced on application startup in the previous patch. As before, the you can access last year's version of the game on the old_xna_version beta branch in Steam if you experience issues with this build.

We've taken the opportunity to update Owlboy on Steam. The game will soon be available to play on Steam Deck. The latest version should enhance loading-speeds across all operative systems & add additional controller support. List of changes: - Changed to FNA, which should fix multiple crashes - The old XNA version of the game is still available on the "xnaversion" beta branch on Steam - Level loading is much faster - More readable Japanese, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean fonts - Better error logging, moved logs to C:\Users\ \Saved Games\Owlboy\Saves\logs - One shared build for Windows, Mac, and Linux - Support for PS4 controller natively - Help files now available in Data/Help in the install directory - Many out of bounds and speed-runner glitches fixed
