Hi all, We've made a few fixes and tweaks to The Eye of Borrack, fixing a rare occurrence, where the game couldn't be completed if you performed certain actions in a certain order. Also added a few new commands, which don't affect game-play, but add a little more atmosphere.
- Forget me not., - 3 January 2022
Fixed small, and very rare bug that caused characters to forget what the wanted, making some puzzles impossible to solve. Most players won't have encountered it, but if you did, you can now proceed. Enjoy, The JimJams Games team.

It's Christmas time, so as a thank you to all of our great players, we've added new DLC to The Eye of Borrack for free, giving you a brand new adventure set in the same mythical land. Play as either Cinderella or Prince Charming as you try to make your way back through a mysterious forest full of magical, and to be honest, fairly annoying fairy tale creatures.
- AgAIn - 5 September 2020

- Saying more... - 9 July 2020
Hi, fellow Adventurers. We've another update for you, this time focusing on the AI. We've once again listened to feedback, and improved the way you can talk to other characters in the game. Expanding on our recent changes to the SAY command we've fixed a couple of small bugs that crept in when we updated SAY. In addition, we've added the ability to give characters multiple commands, adding to the depth of puzzles and ease of play. So, for example, CHIEF "TAKE THE BOX AND THE KEY", ASK RANDLE TO TAKE ALL. - NOTE: We've checked this system a lot, but please report any issues. Secondly, we've also improved a few routes in the game following feedback, for example, where a fallen tree forms a bridge to the north, you can now CROSS TREE or CROSS BRIDGE as well as GO NORTH. We've also added a new command SHOWINPUT which will toggle between showing the last typed command and not. Some users fel…
- What did you SAY? - 30 June 2020
Hi all, A small update today for The Eye of Borrack, all based on user feedback. 1) We've improved SAY, so, as an example, you've always been able to SAY TO RANDLE "FOLLOW ME", now you can SAY "FOLLOW ME" to the world in general, and anyone who is around will listen (They might not do what you want, but they will listen.). - Of course, this can be used with other commands as well, so you could SAY "Hello" to the world, or SAY TO EVERYONE WAIT HERE. 2) We've added a new system command, SHOWINPUT which will toggle between displaying the last player input entered. Many players felt that there was no need to display what you'd just typed, so we removed it in a previous build.. This annoyed some players, so we've now given you a choice. 3) We also made a few tweaks to some locations and added a few improved ways to interact with certain objects, you most likely won't notice them, but will im…
- Big Improvements - 8 June 2020
Hi text adventure fans. Firstly, this patch corrects a few typos that were spotted by eagle-eyed players. We've also added the new WINDOWED mode to the drop-down graphics menu for ease. CHANGE: You can now add a save/load slot to SAVE (number) or LOAD (number) which will allow you to select a slot when saving/loading. NOTE: This won't change the default slot set by SAVESLOT We've also brought the way The Eye of Borrack displays your last command in line with the upcoming Stranded 2 by removing the text showing what was last typed. It was causing confusion for some players and due to the way it was being decoded sometimes returned odd results, even though it was understood. We've also improved the error reporting when a noun is known, but not understood in the current situation, making it easier to understand what was misunderstood. We've updated the manual to reflect all of these change…
- Come and Chat with us. - 28 May 2020
Hi all, We get a lot of requests for help from our players who are stuck scratching their heads over a puzzle here and a puzzle there in The Eye of Borrack, so we're launching a discord chat channel where you can meet other players and occasionally chat with the devs. So, if you need help with the game, why not come and join us. Join us on Discord. Looking forward to seeing you there, The JimJams Games team.
- Small Patch Time! - 27 May 2020
Hi all, In keeping with our intention to update and improve on all of our games, even months and years after publication, we've taken a little time out to make some changes to the parsing system, bringing it in line with our next text adventure Stranded 2, which is well into development. We hope that these changes improve your enjoyment of this already very popular game! Thanks for playing, The JimJams Games team.
- Better searching. - 8 May 2020
Hi all, This is a very small update, improving the parser when searching objects and we've added a save game warning now when quitting. That's it. Enjoy, The JimJams Games team.
- New Views and Improvements. - 13 April 2020
Hi all, Firstly, many thanks to our players and the excellent feedback we've received from many of you. We're currently working on our next text adventure Stranded 2, which is a sequel to a game our lead developer wrote back in the early 1990's, for the amazing ZX Spectrum. Yep, he goes back a long way. As a result, we've made some improvements to the main engine, mainly to parsing and object recognition for similar-sounding objects. (E.g. A red, metal key and a red, silver key.). We've also added a much-requested Windows mode. You can now type WINDOWED ON or WINDOWED OFF to turn on a scalable Window, or simply WINDOWED to toggle between the two modes. That's it, thanks for reading, and we hope you continue to enjoy The Eye of Borrack. The JimJams Games team.
- Looking better! - 6 December 2019
Hi all, While we're busy behind the scenes working on a couple of other projects, including a sequel to The Eye of Borrack, we've taken time to pass some engine improvements for that sequel back to Borrack. There are lots of little tweaks, but we've mainly improved the amount of information that examining or searching an object or location reveals, giving the player more to work with, and the occasional clue. Thanks all, Enjoy, The JimJams Games team
- It's nomination time! - 3 December 2019
Hi All, So, it seems that some kind people have nominated The Eye of Borrack for the most Most Innovative Gameplay award here on Steam. We're amazed and very happy for the honour. We're committed to bringing you fun, challenging games, which stretch your playing skills. Please help us get a little more recognition, by voting for us too. Many thanks, The JimJams Games team.

- Ah, now I understand..... - 8 November 2019
Hi, We've published another small update. While working on a sequel to the Eye of Borrack, we discovered a few areas where the parser can better predict what the player means. In our constant search for excellence, we've ported those improvements back into Borrack, so all of our games will have the best parsing we can manage. Thanks all, The JimJams Games team.
- Better thinking. - 28 October 2019
HI all, Another small update today. I imagine that this will be the last for a little while. We've been following feedback closely and thought that the AI could a little better behaved. So, on top of the recent AI updates, We've improved how the AI handle objects further, and also given them a little more personality. Thanks all. The JimJams Games team.
- Little Thieves - 25 October 2019
Hi all, Once again, we've reacted to player feedback. This time regarding some light-fingered characters. It appears that a few characters have been taking objects, and holding onto them for far too long, or dropping them far from the original location. This was intended behaviour in a way, but not very helpful. Characters will drop items pretty quickly now if they've taken them, been given them or otherwise are in possession unless it's something that they really like. Thanks for all your support, The JimJams Games team.
- Lighting the Way - 24 October 2019
Hi all, We've been collecting feedback from our players, most of which is great, so we're very happy that you like what we're doing. Some of you thought that the torch could be easy to use, and we agreed. So, what's new. 1) The Torch can now be refilled, even when not empty, 2) You can now light the torch, even in the dark. 3) You can now empty the torch, simply because you should be able to. In non-torch related news, we've fixed a few more typos. There haven't been many, but they do creep in, and we're keen to eliminate them all! We've also updated the end game music, to something much more dramatic. That's it, Enjoy, The JimJams Games team.
