- 👮🤜🤛🤖 Announcing TwinCop × Silicomrades: Wacky Co-op Action bundle - 19 October 2025
Finding quality video game entertainment for an evening with someone close isn’t easy - the genre of local co-op games isn’t exactly the most popular one, and even among the titles proudly calling themselves co-op, it’s hard to find something that isn’t just another clone of an overused formula and meets our standards for original fun. So, we decided to dive deep into the murky waters of Steam in search of the best hidden gems of the genre. And some of those games we didn’t just want to play - we wanted to team up with their creators! That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Silicomrades is now available on Steam in a special bundle together with TwinCop by Finite Reflection Studios - a wonderfully wacky cooperative game with a retro vaporwave aesthetic, where two players control one cop. They released a while ago, but that is just another reason to check out this co-op extravaganza t…
- Czech localization - 18 July 2025
Although they don't speak much, we wanted to introduce our robots in our native language. And today is the day, Silicomrades can be played in Czech. Although our game is small, short, and not very talkative, we still had to translate more than 650 strings of text, including the names of defects, bonuses, story briefings, hints and quests, all the setting information, the end credits, as well as the entire TWO voiceover monologues found in Silicomrades. We had to involve a different kind of creativity, but we believe the translation was quite successful - we even allowed ourselves to be more allusive in many things and tried to be humorous as well, exactly in the spirit of our studio. (As you can see in the screenshots, only text strings were translated, translating all assets including texts, turned out to be too complicated for us. But do not worry, these represent only a small fractio…
- 🤖🎉Silicomrades are released!🤖🎉 + What comes next? (Je to čeština! 🇨🇿) - 21 June 2025
It is done. After 7 years of working on fleshing out our university project into a full-fledged game, yesterday we had the honor of finally pushing the big green button and releasing the Silicomrades into the wild. This is our six-person hobby game dev team, Outside the Fox, in its full glory: We are still feeling a little bit defective from our night of celebrating, but we already pushed out an updated build, solving the issue with one of the bosses refusing to get defeated properly. It was, of course, a traitorous sabotage from the evil Robo-government! In the upcoming days, we will focus mostly on fixing bugs that will potentially come up + the addition of a Czech Translation for the whole game, which you can expect in the upcoming week or two! Let us know how you enjoyed the game, and if you want to support us further, please write us an honest Steam review. Such an act can help oth…
- Development Diary #1 - Finding the sound of bureaucratic machinery - 27 May 2025
“We need to get rid of that placeholder 80s funk music, and we have full confidence in you,” they told me once when I was joining the promising student (back then) team Outside the Fox. I am Jan Knot, the music composer and sound designer Minister of Noise, and you are reading a development diary about the music of Silicomrades. Yes, you will find out how big of an orchestra we require to perform the soundtrack live, but first, we need to return all the way back to the beginning of the iterative process, because we are ready to admit all the blind alleys that we encountered along the way. Looking for the right musical style of Lawtvia If you've seen the trailer, played the demo, or taken part in Ministry of Testing, you already know what the final music sounds like in the game. But there were many iterations before we arrived there. First drafts were heavily based on various industrial,…

- Release date approved by robo-government! - 10 July 2020
It is our pleasure to announce, that after weeks and weeks of negotiating, editing, and pleading (and occasional screaming) with the all-mighty (certainly not evil) robo-government, we were finally approved for release by the Minister of Quality Games himself. It is an honor and we promised (we were forced), that we will not misuse this privilege to show our glorious leaders in a bad light (as we certainly plan to do). Our game will of course obey all the law of Lawtvia (all four billions of them and counting) and we will not try to initiate a rebellion with it (all hail the Resistance!). And what's the date you ask? It is Q1 of 2021. And hopefully, you are looking forward to the release as much as we are! In the meantime, check out these screenshots of our latest level called The Tramp Trouble. The natural environment is looking kinda cool, right? https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/…
