• URG 1.83 - 7 May 2021

  URG has been updated to version 1.83. - Fixed a bug where the game would in some cases freeze in the ship selection screen - Added a secondary weapon! Try the B-button or the right shoulder button on the game controller. Both weapons can be used at the same time (the primary weapon is on A-button and the left shoulder button) - Moved the camera further back and scaled down the ships slightly. This gives much more spacious feeling and the camera is no longer "on your face". - Added chromatic aberration post-render effect and slight screen distortion for some more "retro" feeling - Made the tutorial more interesting by adding a bunch of enemies in the early levels!

  URG build 1.82 fixes an issue where the ship's radar would sometimes vanish during ship level upgrade.

• URG v1.77 adds a lot of sound effects and weapon power balancing - 10 February 2021

  There are now many more sound effects in the environment. Doors opening, player spawning, etc. There have also been some performance optimizations and small fixes. Chain spawning is now removed from the tutorial levels, as some players were accidentally spawning it and ended up being confused.

• Build 1.75 fixes and improvements - 4 February 2021

  - The latest version includes many small improvements, such as many new sound effects and more information about the weapons. - The most important bug fix is that the ship configuration screen used to show up twice before some levels - this has now been fixed. - There are now sound and visual effects when the ship hits a wall - You now get coin rewards for breaking down those small asteroids. I noticed from gameplay videos posted on YouTube that many of you like to blast those, so I figured it should be rewarded! - Some people seem to be stuck on the very first level, so I added an arrow pointing at the lever you need to either shoot or hit with your ship to open the door.

• Free demo of URG is now available for Windows and Mac - 3 February 2021

  URG is an exciting new game from Utopos Games where you get to explore the asteroid belt, discover new alien species, fight enemies and equip and upgrade your rocketship. There are multiple ships, dozens of weapons, and a whole ton of wild aliens. The game is spread over multiple distinct "worlds", each of which has its own graphical style and special gameplay features. URG offers a single-player game and a co-op local multiplayer for up to 4 players. The demo offers unlimited gameplay through 8 tutorial levels. If you choose to upgrade to a full version, you get to keep your progress and the collected coins from the demo.

• Version 1.74 fixes persistent data storage bug - 3 February 2021

  The previous version introduced a bug that caused the played progress not to be saved when exiting the game. This update fixes the issue. Any progress from a previous version will be restored once this update is applied.

• Fixing a misplaced .exe file on the Windows build - 2 February 2021

  The earlier 1.72 update placed URG.exe in a wrong folder, causing the game to not start. This new update fixes the location.

  Guntech is a crazily addictive space shooter. It is the brainchild of game industry veteran Jani Penttinen. As a solo project, Jani has worked on Guntech for over two years. It's a sequel of his first game, Utopos, from 1993. Utopos on Atari ST was considered by many as one of the best games ever made on the platform.   Guntech has been released on Early Access Guntech, a sequel to an Atari ST classic Utopos from 27 years ago, has just been released on Steam for PC and Mac. Developed by Jani Penttinen, who created the original game. Back in the 90s the original game was rated as one of the best games ever on Atari ST, Guntech is a sequel that is made for today's standards in terms of graphics and gameplay.
