• Wings Playtest is over - 5 July 2022

  Hello world, Thanks for trying out my wings! I am aware that some of you have had difficulty figuring it out. My priority is to adjust the flight mechanics so you don't lose all your speed if you don't fly perfectly. If you do fly with good form, I want to add effects to make it feel much more powerful too. Finally, I want to make a proper introduction to flying so you learn before you do it yourself. The tutorial will be repackaged into a basic training program so when it's time to fly, you start without delay. I am excited to continue developing my wings with you! I hope this grows into a worthy VR title, and with your help I think it can. Cheers! Kittyking101

• Wings Playtest now available! - 7 June 2022

  We're finally landing! After 2 more years of development, Wings is making its way back down into the hands of the VR community. "So, what took you so long?" Well, as I discovered, games take time. Thanks for your patience! I want to make sure the experience runs well and is easy to navigate. I also want to verify the multiplayer works well with a larger group of flyers without performance drops. If you have and bug reports or feedback, join the Discord! This link won't expire ;) Also, feel free to submit screenshots, videos, and all that kind of content. I added some camera options and the ability to record flight sequences. Would love to see what you all can do with wings! The playtest build will be available for the month of June. Enjoy your flight!

• Wings starting to unfold - 6 February 2021

  Hello world, I want to apologize for taking longer than expected to finish this game, and for not providing an update since last Summer. I'm still here! While I slowed down several times, I have not stopped developing. I've been focused on making the game more presentable these last few months, as it was not quite where I wanted it when I released the demo for the Summer Game Festival. It has now reached the point of looking like a complete product that I want to sell. It has clean sound effects, self-composed music, cool UI transitions, and beautiful flight sequences for a welcoming atmosphere. It also has more locations, a better interface for networking with players, more stats, more options, a more detailed, geospatially-accurate model of Earth, and tons of improvements/fixes. • Gathering the Flock - 18 June 2020

  Wings looks like a pretty casual experience, but learning how to fly is like learning a new sport! I will be working with a local VR business to teach people how to fly this evening. This is an opportunity to experience the multiplayer aspect of the game for anyone who wants to see other people taking flight. On a side note, I apologize for providing almost zero instruction on how to play my game. I will plan on making a tutorial video where I teach the basics and show off what you can do with your wings. In the meantime, here are some tips on how to fly and control your character! The right joystick/touchpad lets you follow your flyer while touching it. Click it to toggle on and off. • Learn To Fly! - 16 June 2020

  Hello world, This is a project I started working on 3 years ago. I wanted to create a VR experience where people learn to fly and explore an open world together. I found that most standalone VR games had limited movement options, so I wanted to break the mold and create the most dynamic movement system possible to simulate the dream of flight. I also wanted it to be multiplayer so people can connect with each other and show off their flying skills while they travel the world. After discovering WRLD3D's maps SDK in 2017, I was excited to use it as a testing grounds for flying. I was invited to participate in their WRLD Challenge: a global game jam for people using their platform. I ended up winning, so that was pretty cool.
