- Vision Statement Suzerain: Socialist Republic of Galmland DLC - 22 September 2026
The Soul Galmland brings the Suzerain universe to a socialist republic forged by victorious revolution. You play as Premier Vigdis Gjalmir, one of the first women to lead a nation in the universe, tasked with turning old revolutionary promises into a society that works. This is governance as construction. You do not simply make policy choices, you implement them, force them through the machinery of the state, and live with the consequences of how they land. The goal is to build something better, perhaps even a utopia, and to make a people believe in the society being built around them. The obstacle is power itself: contested within your government, your committee, and the political factions of the nation you are trying to transform for the revolution or against.Leading a country is the core experience, and Galmland pushes it further. Dear Citizens of the Suzerainverse, After an incredible round of community voting, and plenty of delicious decision-making, we're excited to finally announce the winner of the Lorscha Cooking Competition! First Place: TorenD Congratulations to TorenD whose imaginative interpretation of the beloved Sordish delicacy won over both our community and judges. Drawing inspiration from their Cajun heritage in Acadiana, Louisiana, they reimagined the dish through the lens of classic Cajun cuisine, taking cues from local favourites like gumbo. The result was a creative fusion that perfectly captured the spirit of the competition. Their ingredients each came with a story: shrimp caught in the Gulf of Mexico by a neighbour, crab caught by their wife while visiting family in Alaska, and store-bought mussels. The finished meal was enjoyed with a light beer for them and a seltzer for their wife. It lo…

- Malenyev Urges Unity as CSP Expands Despite Regional Tensions - 5 June 2026
Geopolitico MALENYEV URGES UNITY AS CSP EXPANDS DESPITE REGIONAL TENSIONS Port Zaer, 1947 - Chairman Leon Malenyev of United Contana, leader of the Contanan Security Pact, today called upon member nations to set aside their differences as preparations begin for Zaerland’s accession to the bloc. Sparks of unrest have emerged amid growing tensions across eastern Merkopa and northern Rika, prompting Chairman Malenyev to speak out. Relations between Galmland and Valgsland have continued to deteriorate following the latter's expansion of its fishing grounds near the disputed coastal ridges, despite Galmland's accession to the CSP last year. Questions of alliance unity have gained added significance as Zaerland prepares to join the Pact. Observers cite the country's long-standing tensions with neighboring Imaland, already a CSP member, as a potential source of friction. A renewal of speculati…

- From Distant Tables with Tewani Hurtayn: Sordish Lorscha - 29 May 2026
Tomorrow's Household 29 May 1948 From Distant Tables with Tewani Hurtayn Sordish Lorscha Despite my grandfather’s disdain for the dish (he once dismissed it as “typical bourgeois Western decadence”), those of us growing up in my native United Contana saw Sordish Lorscha as something entirely different. It was exotic. Aspirational. The kind of meal we imagined wealthy people elsewhere were eating while our own cupboards stayed bare, which is precisely what makes the dish’s true origins so deliciously ironic. Brimming with fresh seafood in a rich tomato broth infused with the scents of the Valgosean Sea, Lorscha is a decadent fisherman’s stew whose heritage runs as deep as its flavor. Once the humble fare of weary sailors seeking warmth and sustenance after long hours at sea, it has since become a symbol of Sordland’s culinary pride. Lorscha first arrived on Sordish shores with Galmish an…
- Pressure Mounts as Calls Grow for Premier Keld to Step Down - 22 May 2026
Geopolitico PRESSURE MOUNTS AS CALLS GROW FOR PREMIER KELD TO STEP DOWN Sunne, 1948 - Calls are mounting for Premier Keld to resign before the end of his term, amid intensifying backlash over his ambitious five-year plan, increasingly denounced by opposition leaders and members of the CCND alike as “a disaster waiting to happen.” Keld has endured a recently turbulent period in office, facing years of criticism that he conceded too much during negotiations with the CSP. Now, his leadership is under pressure following the unveiling of his five-year plan, which critics have condemned as unrealistic, dangerously overly ambitious, and in desperate need of change. The proposal includes aggressive shipbuilding targets, expanded food production, increased skilled-worker training, and housing for more than 200,000 people. Despite its broad ambitions, many have dismissed the plan as political gra…

- Economic Grievances Dominate as Lespians Head to the Polls - 23 April 2026
Geopolitico ECONOMIC GRIEVANCES DOMINATE AS LESPIANS HEAD TO THE POLLS Lespia, 1948 - A *survey conducted by the Geopolitico Institute has offered the clearest picture yet of a citizenry preoccupied above all with household finances as the nation approaches its forthcoming general elections. Nearly seven in ten respondents identified the unequal distribution of wealth as a concern, while half pointed to rising housing costs and the increasing price of daily necessities. Matters of international security and foreign affairs were ranked among the least pressing, widely attributed to confidence in Lespia’s established military strength. Environmental questions, together with more limited interests such as animal welfare, drew comparatively little attention. One resident interviewed for the survey said, “It’s becoming harder to make ends meet. Rent and daily necessities keep rising. I inten…

- Commemorating 50 Years Since the Signing of the Treaty of Glenhill - 2 April 2026
Geopolitico Commemorating 50 Years Since the Signing of the Treaty of Glenhill Rumburg, 1948 - Merkopa this week marked the 50th anniversary of the Treaty of Glenhill, which ended the Rumburg–Wehlen conflict and returned control of Datefort to Rumburg, a city with a significant Rummish population. Commemorations reflected a mixture of solemn remembrance and reflection, honoring those who lost their lives in the conflict while also acknowledging the war’s lasting impact on minority communities in the region. Across Rumburg, a minute of silence was observed, with ceremonies held in Glenhill, Thornbourgh, and Dedway as a sign of national solidarity. The Treaty of Glenhill is widely regarded as a key milestone in the region’s history, establishing a demilitarized zone along the Rumburg–Wehlen border. The agreement also confirmed Rumburg’s control over Datefort and the Steelfield region, whi…
