The last time when lunar soil was returned back to Earth was in 1976! • Martian discount - 31 July 2020

  Hello Space Exploration Enthusiasts! This July was super-exciting month with 3 launches to Mars. I described them in more detail in my previous post. However, I was super-anxious, as no one can be 100% sure if some launch is not going to fail for some reason. And hey, space is not forgiving. But hooray, all 3 spacecrafts were successfully placed into their trajectories with destination Mars by their respective carrier rockets. Chronologically (on the image from left to right), Hope spacecraft of United Arab Emirates by Japanese H-IIA rocket, Chinese Tianwen-1 spacecraft by Long March 5 rocket, and Perseverance rover with Ingenuity helicopter drone by US Atlas V rocket.   Hello Space Exploration Enthusiasts! This July is going to be super exciting month for space exploration. As Mars is going to be in ideal position relative to Earth to reach it with our rockets, there are several mission launches to Mars planned this month. Let's recapitulate it, so you'll not miss any one of them: July, 14th: Hope Mars Mission or Emirates Mars Mission. The result of co-operation between the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Centre of United Arab Emirates and 3 US universities (the University of Colorado Boulder, Arizona State University and the University of California, Berkeley). The mission payload is an orbiter spacecraft called Hope, which aims to study Mars atmosphere and its weather cycles. The mission will be launched by Japanese H-IIA rocket.   Hi space exploration enthusiasts! There are not many news regarding space launches these days, amidst coronavirus crisis. Most of them were post-poned. ːsteamsadː But hey, there's one very significant launch, which is still on schedule! ːsteamhappyː SpaceX Crew Dragon Demo-2 mission is planned to launch at May, 27th to lift astronauts to International Space Station. If successfully launched, it will mean that for the first time after long 9 years, manned space flight will be performed by other than super-reliable Russian Soyuz rocket/spacecraft. Moreover, it will be significant step forward, as spacecraft is much heavier, with more internal pressurized volume, it has significantly higher lift capacity of up to 7 astronauts plus cargo and the capsule is equipped with newest shiny high-tech.
