- Mutation Interchange - 1 May 2020
Hi folks, I've been busy with a number of different non-game creative projects lately but my To Do list for Test Tube Titans hit a milestone so I'm very happy to introduce some new changes that should help open up some fun new possibilities. Here's a quick rundown of the couple new changes. Titan Archive - From the save slots screen you'll be able to back up a copy of any titan that you want, and similarly load any back up back into a slot. This opens up some options: - Create as many titans as you want - the slot limit won't restrict your ability to amass a unique collection of titans. - Load your story mode titans into creative mode - you won't have to say goodbye to your favourites if you want to play unrestricted with more upgrades. (creative mode titans can't be loaded into story mode) - Load your favourite archived titans into the Versus mode - pit your favourites against each oth…
- The Dust Settles - 3 April 2020
I guess it was 4 weeks ago today that Test Tube Titans first launched publicly. I didn't know what to expect at the time, and although it's been a relatively quiet release, it's been encouraging to see a very positive response to the game overall. Huge thanks to everyone that has written a review on the steam page, and to everyone that has provided any feedback: it's gone a long way to making this game better and I really appreciate the notes! For anyone interested, it looks like I've sold 724 units in the last month, with 102 of them being refunded (clearly this game isn't for everyone). Those sales should let me pay rent for over 5 months, which is amazing! Thank you for your support! After being sick for the last couple weeks I'm glad that I can offer another new update for the game. Now - some details on the latest update... Extra Wide Display Support! The game UI should all work in…
- Mutations, Mutations, Mutations - 20 March 2020
Hi folks, I've been fighting a cold this week and I've been isolating myself as well. There were a couple important fixes to get in here, and I had fun adding a few new changes that should help change things up a little. Here's a quick breakdown: - Added a new 'giant head' mutation that essentially turns your titan's body into one giant head. Adorable or horrifying? I'll leave it to you to make some bizarre new titans. - New Titan Upgrades screen in creative mode: instead of being limited to a set of 3 upgrades per level, titans in creative mode will be able to select any mutation from the entire list of upgrades in any quantity and combination... things will get crazy. - Power and Ability swapping - instead of being limited to a single special move like 'tackle' you'll now be able to unlock any number of them per titan and using a quick cycle button in a mission, jump between which mov…
- One Week Later - A First Update - 14 March 2020
After watching a number of people play the game this past week, as well as listening to feedback on the forum and some notes from my friend's 4-year-old son, I've made a number of fixes and improvements to the game. Here's the most note-worthy changes: New Difficulty Settings - Damage Scaling - This option will let you turn down the damage your titan takes to 50% or can prevent all damage to your titan, making it completely invulnerable. - Wave Intervals - Slow down the rate of reinforcements showing up by 2 or 3 times, or turn off enemy waves completely. - No Dismemberments - If you're sick of your titans breaking their arms and legs, this option is for you. Note that enabling any of these difficulty settings will prevent you from submitting your scores to the leaderboards, but will otherwise allow you to progress through the game at your own pace. Other New Changes - Hands will now ne…
