    Short-form experimental narrative game Emotionally-charged communication sim Made by a diverse development team In We should talk, you'll use the sentence spinner to piece together modular sentences in response to the in-game characters. Choose your words carefully to express yourself as you discuss ongoing problems about life and romance with Sam, your in-game partner, over text messages, while also chatting with friends and strangers at your favorite local bar. Our team came together with the goal of creating a game that challenges traditional transactional romance in games, and collaborated to push relationship-building games forward by expanding the realm of player choice.

    How does it feel to explore a relationship playground? In We should talk, players are encouraged to think carefully about the words they choose as they interact with various people in a bar, while also texting their partner at home. Using the sentence spinner mechanic developed for this game, players craft sentences in response to the in-game characters, allowing them to explore the nuances of conversation with interactions of various intimacy levels. In a live-streamed event on Twitch and Steam, Jordan Jones-Brewster and Carol Mertz will describe the development process of this unique narrative mechanic, and how it allows for a different way to engage with meaningful choices.
