Hello Architects, We have some difficult news to share: unfortunately, we will not release Prison Architect 2 on September 3rd because we need more time to improve both the game's performance and its content. Our continuous internal reviews and beta test groups have highlighted areas that we need to focus on more, mainly performance and content, which we need to address before launch to ensure that you, the players, get a good experience in the game. We need to raise the quality a bit more to meet the standards we'd like to achieve with this sequel. We are confident that the sequel to Prison Architect will be great, and we're looking forward to showing you all the new ideas brought into it: the switch to 3D, multi-floors, and the new behavior system that all bring a new dimension to the game and open new gameplay possibilities for the players. Greetings Architects, After 9 years together, Double Eleven is leaving Prison Architect. Double Eleven has been with us since the console port, led the development of the game on all platforms, and has been working on Prison Architect 2 over the last few years. With the sequel passing certification on all platforms, the contract was fulfilled. However, we could not find a commercial agreement that worked for both parties moving forward and mutually agreed to part ways. The baton is now being passed on to Kokku, who’s been working on Prison Architect 2 since the autumn of last year together with, and supported by Double Eleven. Looks like we'll be waiting a bit longer to see Prison Architect in 3D. Prison Architect 2 , which had been originally set to launch March 23 before being pushed back to May 7, has now been delayed again. Hello Architects, We have made the hard decision of delaying Prison Architect 2 from May 7th to September 3rd. While we currently have builds certified on all platforms and are ready to release, some issues regarding memory usage and minimum spec configurations experiencing more failures have emerged. Considering the legacy of Prison Architect, and you - our passionate community, we want to ship the best possible sequel to such a beloved game, without cutting corners to do so. With the release date getting closer, we carried out further testing on the final build using multiple configurations to verify its stability. These tests result in a MTBF (mean time between failure) report, the method used to get this result is playing the game until a failure arises. Hello Architects, After careful consideration, we have made the decision to delay the release of Prison Architect 2 to 7 May 2024. While we are already confident in the game, this extra time will enable us to fix more bugs and further optimize the game for all platforms. Although sticking to the original launch date was an option, we feel that taking this additional time is necessary to ensure that we offer you a smoother experience from day one.
