Changes in 1.1.4: Slightly altered backgrounds. Added missing animations for buttons in focus. Further improved window placement upon game start. Upgraded game engine. Changes in 1.1.4.1: Improve awareness about special keys, such as volume up/down, and avoid qualifying them as "any key".

  • Update 1.1.2 - 26 September 2020

Bugfix update! Changes in 1.1.2: The game now remembers one's window position and restores it during the next playing session if played in windowed mode. This also should prevent game window caption from being hidden behind Windows taskbar, if it is placed on the top edge of the screen. Fixed a minor visual glitch, which probably no one noticed anyway. It was related to brightness of 2x2 gem blocks when they are split back into small ones to give way for Options menu or Match Results popup. My thanks for reporting issues!

  • Update 1.1.1: Alternative Tileset - 19 September 2020

This update adds a slightly different gem presentation mode The mode is activated and deactivated via a button on Esc menu. When it is on, small symbols are drawn on top of free gems, providing additional means of differentiating them.

  • Major Update 1.1.0: Arenas and More - 4 September 2020

This is a major update, which saw many aspects of the game reviewed and polished a bit. Most notably, of course, 25 different arenas were added to the game. They get unlocked as you progress, and offer variety to matches; some requiring quite different strategies. Old good plain empty field is still occasionally added to the mix. Other changes include: Quality of Life Hints for starters that will help new players make their first step; Match starting animation is now skippable! Just click or press any key; Game performance was optimised. Not that the game really required it, but it will help battery charge last longer when played on a laptop; Visuals Gem brightness was tuned; Conquered blocks of gems now fuse together into bigger gems! Fixed a visual glitch where next move selection animation continued to play while in Esc menu; Audio Some minor tuning, balance is better, erm, balanced;…

  • Upcoming major update (and price increase) - 1 August 2020

What Gem Master needs is more variety! Therefore, I would like to announce that I am working on a major update to the game, which will introduce different "arenas" for matches to be played on, among other improvements. Instead of the same plain field each time, fields will now feature walls and obstacles, creating additional strategic opportunities or pitfalls. However, that comes together with a decision to increase the price of the game. Of course, the existing players will not be affected; if you own Gem Master by that time, you will just receive the update for free. The update is planned to go live in September.

  • Update 1.0.2 - 29 May 2020

Bugfix update! Changes in 1.0.2: Fixed a very rare crash happening during the match That's it for today! Thank you!

  • Update 1.0.1 - 10 May 2020

Following on players' feedback and reviews, the game has been updated. Changes in 1.0.1: Added music and SFX volume settings on the Esc menu; Added Quit button on Victory/Defeat screen; Added window/taskbar icons (might still be missing with some DPI settings). Thank you for your feedback and support!

  • Gem Master Now Available! - 4 May 2020

The game is now out! Show the Merciless who is the master of the game, and May the Fourth be with you! Enjoy!
