- Hi. - 9 February 2025
In fact, it has been almost 5 whole years since the last Micro Platformer content update. Needless to say, explaining why you haven't heard anything from me for this long would be a whole story on it's own - most of which wouldn't even be about the game. So, I'll save that for a different place & time, and now - allow me to focus right on the main topic: I am back. For real-real. And not just to say that the update is coming soon™ - you can play a v0.7 mini-beta right now. We've been testing the new engine with a bunch of new things from the update right over on the discord server, and will soon (a few days, maybe 1 week) release the full v0.7 beta containing the entire built-in Level Editor, along with many of the other v0.7 game additions. You can follow the progress on the discord server, where I'm posting patchnotes for the near-daily beta updates, regularly adding content as I fini…
- Patch v0.6.2 and v0.6.3 - 3 January 2021
A small patch in preparation for v0.7.0 Removed Full Jump Release - This option made Chipset v2 unbeatable, and was generally a bad idea. I was supposed to remove this months ago, but.. yeah, new engine things kept me too busy, I guess. Disabled Steam Achievements - v0.7.0 will have completely revamped achievements, less focused on deathless stuff, and more focused on... fun, perhaps. Disabled Level Builder - v0.7.0 will have a completely different map structure. Everything is different, and thus, all current maps will be incompatible. Not just data-wise - gameplay-wise too, as physics are also getting a major change. And all the things I've mentioned here are just scratching the surface of how large the next update is (yes, even a brand new engine is barely anything!). Sorry for the silence for over half a year here on Steam, but the wait will be worth it. I hope. I'll post some news w…
- Hotfix v0.6.1 - 22 May 2020
Hour 1 hotfixes, only from Daveyyy! Fixes: Fixed an issue with stationary dash, which would prevent it from dashing in the correct direction in certain situations Fixed an issue that wouldn't let you select the new gameplay options buttons with a controller
- Update v0.6.0 - 22 May 2020
Steam Achievements are here! I've decided to split the next major update into 2 parts so you don't have to wait for achievements and a few gameplay options, so here you go! c: There are achievements for completing each map, and completing each map with 0 respawns, except for Extra Maps, which don't have deathless achievements, in case you haven't been following our recent voting and discussions. Also, there are 2 new gameplay options: Stationary dash is back, as an optional setting that you can enable anytime you want. (You know, the thing that allowed you to dash while not moving, based on your last pressed direction) Full Jump Release option will remove all of your upwards velocity when you release a jump key, instead of cutting it by 3 like it normally is. This was requested by some experienced players in our community, although it's rather experimental. I personally don't recommend…
- Update v0.5.0 - 8 May 2020
Someone said Chipset is easy. Just making sure they will regret that. Chipset v2, is here, with a new, 5th difficulty called Nightmare. Yes indeed, it is a nightmare. You will find this new level in the new "Extras" section in Level Select menu. Enjoy the pain.
- Update v0.4.0 - 6 May 2020
New stuff: You can now remap your keys! Pretty much every normal button is supported, tho it might not be fully readable yet as some buttons use indexes instead of their "names". To change your keybinds, go to Settings, then click the field with inputs of the action you want to remap. The field will turn yellow. Then, press the key you want to map. To add more keys, simply click the field again. Clear buttons will remove all inputs from an action, and Reset button will reset all actions to their default inputs. Input buffering! Ever felt like you pressed a key but the square didn't jump because it was 50ms from touching the ground? Fear no more, as input buffering is here! With a current maximum duration of 0.1s, you have quite a bunch of time to press the jump & dash key. Basically, as long as you press the key within that duration all the way until the action is possible again, the ac…
- Hotfix v0.3.2 - 30 April 2020
Fixed a serious issue with Clear buttons for custom maps, which would cause them to clear official map save files instead of the custom ones.
- Hotfix v0.3.1 - 30 April 2020
Fixed a critical bug that would crash a custom map when swapping build levels.
- Update v0.3.0 - 30 April 2020
Custom Levels are here! Yes, you heard that right, you can now create your own levels with your favorite pixel art program and the new Level Builder! Everything is detailed in the builder once you press "Help", so read that before you begin :D And yes, stats like total respawns and best times are also supported on custom levels. Enjoy! Other changes: Changed how timers are displayed - they are now much more accurate for best times, with up to 3 decimal spaces. Next update will be about reworking the buttons. I feel you controller users, I know they are not the best. Just hang on for a little longer!
- Hotfix v0.2.2 - 28 April 2020
Fixed a very serious bug that would make beating room 18 of Chipset almost impossible on lower framerates Increased physics engine tick rate from ~120fps to ~480fps Modified room 18 of Chipset to make it much easier If you were stuck at room 18 of Chipset, try again. Sorry for messing up so hard :(
- Hotfix v0.2.1 - 27 April 2020
Fixes: Fixed a critical bug that would prevent dash from triggering after a queued jump
- Update v0.2.0 - 26 April 2020
New world, new difficulty! Chipset - a brand new world with another 25 levels, offering some great challenge even for experienced players. Some other stuff: You can now dash while stationary - the direction will be determined by the last directional key you pressed Your jump will now queue if you are still respawning instead of being ignored, as long as you are holding the jump button for the rest of the respawn Added Xbox X / PS Square as an additional dash button Speedrun mode overlay is now more transparent Fixes: Fixed a bug that would let you select Clear buttons even if all of them were invisible
- Update v0.1.0 - 24 April 2020
New stuff: You can now clear existing room saves whenever you want - just click the new "Clear" button twice! Speedrun mode! Enable this mode in the Level Select menu to enable an overlay that displays current total time of a run, current room, best total time on the room you're in, and the difference between your best and current time on each room! Fixes: Fixed a bug where buttons in the Level Select menu were not selected in order when using a controller stick. Fixed a typo in the tutorial. End screen now says "Respawns" instead of "Deaths". Another update with new levels should be up in a few days. Enjoy c:
