  • Cannibal Tales is finally available on Steam! - 14 May 2024

Dear Cannibal Lovers, The day has finally arrived! Episode 1 of Cannibal Tales is now available on Steam! We're thrilled to have brought the first part of this project to life, despite countless challenges. This is just the beginning of a larger journey: two more visual novel episodes are set for release in 2025, and a 3D survival horror game is planned for 2026. We're deeply sorry we couldn't share this moment with the master Ruggero Deodato, but we believe releasing the game on his birthday is a fitting tribute to him. We hope you enjoy the game, and we eagerly await your feedback on our Discord server: https://discord.gg/Bk6wRBmNkA. The next steps include the Switch and PlayStation releases, as well as localization into other languages. We'll keep you updated. That's all for now. The Cannibal Team

  • Continuing the Legacy: Introducing Cannibal Tales - 8 August 2023

Hello Deoedato lovers, As we said in our previous post, our collaboration with Ruggero Deodato continues in a new form: Cannibal Tales. This horror thriller visual novel offers a gripping story where every choice matters. Will you brave the journey? Experience the darkness and wishlist the game now! https://store.steampowered.com/app/2431840/Cannibal_Tales/

  • Continuing the Legacy: Introducing Cannibal Tales - 7 June 2023

Hello everyone, We have an important announcement regarding our collaboration with Ruggero Deodato. Despite his unexpected passing 5 months ago, we have decided to continue the project in a new form: Cannibal Tales. As you may know, Ruggero was the main investor in our ongoing project, Borneo: a Jungle Nightmare. Unfortunately, due to a lack of funds, the development has been halted. We have attempted to secure funding by pitching the project to publishers and private investors, but so far we have been unsuccessful. We do not have the necessary resources to complete the required vertical slice. Therefore, we have made the decision to change direction and return to the original idea of our collaboration with Ruggero Deodato. We will create a visual novel using the master's unpublished screenplay, and the project will be called Cannibal Tales. The story will be divided into three parts, w…

  • Last hours to play the demo - 28 November 2022

Hello everyone, last hours to play the demo. It will be available until November 29th at 09:00 CET. Thanks to all of you for the feedback received. A new devlog is coming very soon. Stay tuned

  • Steam Scream Fest - 24 October 2022

Hello everyone, we have an important announcement for you: “Borneo: a Jungle Nightmare” will be part of the Steam Scream Fest. Starting on Tuesday 25 it will be possible to play a small but very scary demo we have been working on in the last months. We take this opportunity to make a brief recap on the state of development in order to update all the people who support the game and who ask us if there is any news about it. Since we announced our collaboration with Ruggero Deodato to make a video game based on his original script in April 2020, a lot of things happened during the development of the project, changing the original idea of the game for better or for worse. Originally the game was a visual novel called "Cannibal", made in collaboration with the Italian artist SOLOMACELLO. The game would be completed by the end of 2020. We saw a lot of interest in our game after the announceme…

  • Weekly Devlog #3 - 18 September 2022

Hello guys, A new weekly devlog is here! In the game's main story, during the rescue expedition in Borneo, Alessandro, the protagonist, experiences real nightmares with his eyes open. He is poisoned with a substance that causes hallucinations. The player is frightened by different events like walking in the shadows or encountering an enemy. While the player is getting scared an icon fills up. When this fear icon is completely filled up, the player reaches a state of terror and he is thrown into a new map. The landscape will change from the jungle of Borneo to the narrow alleys of a city. In this video, you can see a work in progress of the visual transition. More info about gameplay mechanics coming soon. Stay tuned! See you next week, Borneo Team

  • Weekly Devlog #2 - 10 September 2022

Hello guys, A new weekly devlog is here! In the game, the player will relive the fate of an unfortunate expedition to Borneo. The story is mainly set in two places: the jungle of Borneo and the streets of a big American city. Following community feedback, we changed the visual style and gameplay from a 2D point-and-click adventure to a 3D horror-action-adventure game. In our last devlog we focused on the Jungle, so today we want to show you some pictures of the city (it is wip material!). As you can see, we're focusing on shaders, trying to get the visual style that Deodato has in mind. These images are taken from a specific gameplay mode. In the next devlog we will give you more information about it and the other game mechanics of Borneo. See you next week, Borneo Team

  • Weekly Devlog #1 - 28 August 2022

Hello guys, A new weekly devlog is here! Many associates the narrative technique of found footage with the film Blair Witch Project, not knowing that it was invented by Ruggero Deodato, who first used it in his famous cult movie "Cannibal holocaust". We want to use the same technique in Borneo. The game's main character received a mysterious videotape, by watching it he will uncover the truth about the fate of an expedition that traveled to Borneo in search of the last cannibals. As you can see in the video, we are working to recreate the same look of a 90's VHS. From the next devlog, we will begin to say a little more about the game's storyline. Please support the development. Let your friends know about the project, and add the game to your wishlist. See you next week, Borneo Team

  • The development of the game has restarted! - 19 August 2022

Hello folks, we have great news about Borneo: a Jungle Nightmare. Finally, the development of the game has restarted! There have been many changes from the old design. The project has become more ambitious, from a 2D adventure game, we moved to a 3D first-person horror game. We know we're late, but we preferred to take our time and reimagine the game, following user feedback. We have a new road map. The development will be completed by the end of 2023 (hoping that there are no new pandemics!). We are working on a prototype that will be completed by the end of September. Next, we will start working on a vertical slice that will be shown to publishers and the public by the end of 2022. The team has also changed and we have new members who will help us develop the game. We are proud to work with Gabriele Granocchia, a highly talented 3D developer and artist who will take care of the protot…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #10 - REBOOT - 22 May 2021

Hi everyone, Fantastico Studio here. The last few months have been very difficult due to personal problems related to Maestro Ruggero Deodato, which have kept him away from the project for most of the time. All this has, unfortunately, led to a big slowdown in the production of the game and on the roadmap we had initially planned and has forced us to re-plan a new one based on the slowdown we had in these months and, in the same way, to re-plan a new release date. By the way, we didn't stop. We are currently focused on the finalisation of a demo - still in Italian, but in the process of being localised - which will be shown in the next few months. We will look for a publisher to collaborate for better communication of the project. In the new demo, we have been working on changing the fonts used in the project, as well as fixing and refining some UI elements such as: Conversations Dialog…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #9 - 10 April 2021

Welcome to a new Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare devlog. In the previous Devlog we told you that we were working with Ruggero Deodato on a Demo of Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare: well, the Demo is finally ready and has been tested even by the Director himself! Please note: the text you'll see on the screen is in Italian, but the game will obviously be localised in the final version. As you can see from the video, the work is proceeding very well, together with Ruggero Deodato himself who is putting a lot of his own energy into it. We are working non-stop to provide you with the best possible cannibal experience. Also - surprise! - we are trying to make the Demo available for the next Steam Game Festival, so stay tuned! Get ready for a cannibalistic summer 💀 Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. Coming Summer 2021 on Steam Wishlist now 👇 https://store.steampowered.com/app/1286420/Borneo_A_Jungle_Nightmar…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #8 - 13 March 2021

Welcome to a new Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare devlog. In this week's devlog we take a closer look at another very important element of our game: Quick Time Events (aka QTEs). As already widely anticipated in the past episodes, QTEs are a very important part of the gameplay of Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare, as their implementation was conceived to introduce into the game moments of frenzy that could diversify the classic point-and-click graphic adventure gameplay. There are a large number of QTEs in the world of video games; most of them are based on precision, timing and the repetition of a certain action in a short time frame. Knowing this, we thought we'd include in Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare the ones that we think are most in line with the goal we have and the kind of experience we want to give players. Today we are presenting three of the Quick Time Events you will find in Borneo: A Jung…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #7 - 27 February 2021

Welcome back to a new devlog for Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. We are working non-stop on the title: we're really busy trying to close a demo of the game, so for today's Devlog we decided to let the images speak for themselves, showing you two new, interesting videos. As we've already mentioned in previous Devlogs, one of the goals we have for Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare is to bring to life the beautiful illustrations we have in the game, and achieve a certain kind of graphical appeal. The first video shows a series of animations that you will find in the studio. The second video shows the initial part of the game, which is what happens immediately after clicking on New game. And that's all for today! See you at the next Devlog. Get ready for a cannibalistic summer 💀 Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. • BORNEO DEVLOG #6 - 13 February 2021

Welcome back to a new devlog for Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. In the last devlog, we talked about one of the first memories we'll be playing in Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. Today we're taking a closer look at another important aspect of the game: the cursor. As Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare is a graphical adventure, the cursor is a bit of a bridge that connects the player's actions to the game itself - if you think about it, it's exactly the way we interact with the game world. So we started exploring different options in order to find the perfect cursor for the theme of our game, and after having a chat with our artist SoloMacello, we started evaluating the first ideas. As you can see in the image above, the first five proposals have all a strong connection to the theme and the spirit of the game, each with their own pros and cons. In option A we find the eye that is already taken up in the…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #5 - 30 January 2021

Hello everyone and welcome back to a new devlog for Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare. Work continues non-stop and today we want to take you into one of the very first Memories you will play in Borneo. You may have noticed in the past that some of the illustrations showed our characters sitting in a jeep, heading off to who knows where. Now, take a look at the scene below See anything? It's actually the same jeep our characters were travelling in! But why have they stopped? What do the people in the background seem to want? And why is there a dead body in the river?! Let's go in order and try to think about it together. The first thing that catches the eye is undoubtedly the body of the man in the water. Observing it, we realise that the man was stuck by a tree trunk that hit him on the back, so to rescue him we will first have to take care of removing that big tree trunk, without risking to b…

  • Why was Cannibal Holocaust such a controversial film? - 23 January 2021

Another Saturday, another Devlog for BORNEO: A Jungle Nightmare! Today we continue by publishing a new, interesting, point of view sent to us by our friend Liam, from Australia. Check it out! Last time, I spoke about the themes and messages of the film Cannibal Holocaust, but for this entry. I wanted to give a quick overlook as to why this film became so infamous and controversial. The most infamous story involving the film was when Italian authorities seized the film a few days after its premiere believing that director Ruggero Deodato had actually killed the actors who played the four filmmakers during the production. The film was the first to use the style of handheld & found footage that would later be used in films like The Blair Witch Project, Paranormal Activity and Cloverfield. For 1980, this was a very confronting style as it was the first of its kind. So audiences found this p…

  • BORNEO: I wonder who the real cannibals are? - 16 January 2021

Today we present an interesting written analysis sent to us by Liam, from Australia. Check it out! Cannibal Holocaust has gained many fans and many detractors since its release, both sides have participated in lengthy discussions about the merits of the film. One subject that comes up when fans defend the movie is the messages the movie presents. Today I am going to explore those messages a bit closer. The most prominent message one will take from a first viewing is the commentary of Western Society’s treatment of Native and Indigenous communities. Deodato’s previous Cannibal film Jungle Holocaust explored these topics as well, as our “hero” in that film starts to lose his Western society as they natives rip his clothes to shreds and destroy his possessions and he is forced to act like them to survive. The characters of Professor Monroe and Alan Yates are polar opposites who represent b…

  • BORNEO DEVLOG #4 - 9 January 2021

After a week's break due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, we're back with our usual weekly DEVLOG series on BORNEO: A Jungle Nightmare. Before we get into today's topic, though, you should know that yesterday we drew the first winner of the contest that gave away a print of the game signed by Ruggero Deodato, and we've started a new contest that expires on February 5th. Taking part is very easy, just go to our Twitter or Facebook page for more information! BORNEO, AN "ANIMATED" GRAPHIC One of the biggest challenges in the development of BORNEO: A Jungle Nightmare was to combine the search for a dynamic aesthetic with the beautiful illustrations by artist SoloMacello. So we asked ourselves, what can we do to bring our artist's illustrations to life? After studying the tools available to us, we found 2D Animation to be the ideal solution. As you can see, 2D Animation is a Unity Tec…

Short description

Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare is a 3D horror adventure game, with the direction and the original script by Ruggero Deodato. Take control of different characters in a desperate expedition to the virgin jungles of Borneo.

About this game

CHECK OUT CANNIBAL TALES! About the Game Chicago, 1999 A newspaper editor waits for a reporter to deliver a documentary about an expedition in Borneo to find the last cannibals. The man does not show up, but an envelope is delivered to his office. It contains a bloodstained videotape and a concise message: “It is not the video you were expecting, but I think you will be satisfied anyway. Try to enjoy your last night.” Who is threatening you? What happened to the reporter? And why do the members of the expedition seem to have mysteriously disappeared? You only have one night to find the answers, relying solely on the information in the video. Borneo is a horror thriller, containing stories of necrophilia, murders, metropolitan cannibals, and psychopathic embalmers.

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Sep 23, 2026 to Sep 23, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare's USD price history spans from Sep 23, 2026 to Sep 23, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Sep 23, 2026 through Sep 23, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
