- Development Update - 30 September 2025
I got stuck on trying to add multiplayer. I originally had steam multiplayer fully implemented in the old version of the game that was on UE4, but getting that to work in UE5 hasn't been anywhere near as smooth for me. For now, I'm giving up on adding multiplayer. BUT there will be a pretty substantial update soon. Currently focused on fixing and expanding what I originally implemented. I've learned a lot through side projects in all this time and my struggles with multiplayer, so I have a lot that I'm currently working on improving in terms of how the game actually runs, how it feels, pretty much the whole game. In good news, I also have a pretty good idea of where I aim to take the game now. I originally had a rough idea, I knew what I wanted it to be like, but not exactly how I wanted it to be. I've sorted that out and I have a decent idea of the core game loop I plan to build. It's…

Merry Christmas! Fixed audio still playing when removing the fishing rod, causing an unbearable audio loop Fixed fishing pole having collisions with everything, you can no longer slap logs around with it Hopefully fixed an issue causing negative amounts of seeds Removed DLSS as i wasn't using it and it was possibly causing an issue for older GPU's, running the game with -dx11 in the launch options should make the game playable for now, if you're having any issues with launching the game

Implemented working Steam Achievements Hidden a golden toilet roll, for the achievement and throwback to the OG game Adjusted Chicken spawns, should spawn a bit faster in game now
- Steamworks and leaderboards fixes - 16 December 2024
-Fixed Steamworks integration (you should now be able to alt+tab to get into the steam overlay) -Fixed Steam leaderboards, now it should update and keep track of who catches the biggest fish *possible issues with the loading system for resources, it seems to work completely fine while working inside Unreal Engine, but when packaging out it sometimes loads resources into the wrong slot, EG leaving the game with 0 sticks and 10 fish, but loading back into the game with 10 sticks and 0 fish, it seems to be fixed but just wanted to post to say i'm aware of it so if it's happening to you please let me know*
- Overhaul is coming - 10 December 2024
Helloooo. It's been a while since I last posted about remaking the game into something new, and this is a new post to share that progress is being made on it, I think I should be able to get a playable (barebones, but playable) branch uploaded real soon. I've decided to stick with the idea of what surviving isolation was to begin with, a survival game. However, I'm committed to making it a more playable experience, and as such to begin with I have removed all aspects of multiplayer from the game, though I do really want to include some form of multiplayer in the future, I'm just not sure yet on how I exactly want that implementation to be. In general, I'm committed to getting a playable build up soon, and I have a lot of ideas for where to take it over time. As always, your feedback, ideas, suggestions etc are all always welcome, but my next post (hopefully very soon!) will be detailing…
- Price change and where i am with this game - 6 June 2024
Hi everyone, I just thought I'd post an update to let you all know I've adjusted the price of the game, I couldn't make it free, or take it down from sale so I've had to go with making the game as cheap as possible. I don't recommend that anyone buys the game in it's current state unless you purely want to support me, otherwise I wholeheartedly recommend that instead of purchasing the game, you consider wishlisting or follow the game to keep up to date with updates as they come. I've also updated the store page to reflect the following information and I'm posting this in an effort to make it as known and honest as possible. I'm currently not happy with Surviving Isolation, it was a funny idea at the time, it was a great learning experience overall, but it's not a game I'm happy with, it's not something I think is fun beyond maybe an hour or two. Because of this, I'm going to remake surv…
- I need YOUR feedback and ideas - 4 July 2021
Hi everyone, so i've posted in the discussions with basically a semi long post around where i want to take the game. I'd really appreciate if you could go and have a look, let me know your thoughts, what ideas you all have etc. I'll be making big progress on Surviving Isolation once i'm free from work for a while so i'm looking for some good discussion and to really get an idea for where i'm definitely taking the direction of the game over the next couple of weeks. Thanks! ClouDxUK
