- Better controller support, bug fixes and lower price - 25 February 2021
This update is really something you've been waiting for! Today I uploaded a new version v.1.01 which contains the following updates and fixes: Better controller support - You can now play the game entirely by controllers. Even menus and options can be handled from your favorite controller It is now possible to cripple the rocket building factory to give you some extra time to finish all the tasks at hand Small bug fixes, which didn't impact the game, but was a torn in my eye After much thought I have also lowered the price on this game, to make it accessible to even more people, who enjoys old school arcade action games.

- DevLog #16: The game is finally finished! - 11 September 2020
I am really excited to announce that Raid on the Zone is now leaving Early Access! It now has the features and playability I wished for, for the game. It has been bug free for a long while I have gotten good feedback on the game and the process, so I am really happy :-) To celebrate the full release of the game, it will be dicounted for a limited time. Go grab it today and start killing those pesky enemies Thank you very much for helping me bring this game to the public! :)
- DevLog #15: Controllers are now supported - 1 September 2020
For this update, I have added controller support to the game. Movement controls are right now fixed to the sticks on the controller, but 4 functions can be mapped to a controller button. I think the game is now in state, that it wont be long before I can release the version 1.00 and take it out of early access. This will be a great day for me :) It will launch with a discount so more gamers will have a chance to play it.
- DevLog #14: More additions and tweaking - 11 August 2020
Development is still going strong and each week I manage to add or tweak a little something in the game. This time I have adjusted the player gun, so it automatically aims for the nearest target within shooting range. I have also had time to add/change these things. Discovered helipads will now also be shown on the minimap to make it easier to figure out where to fly for refuelling and repairs Reduced the strength of flying enemies. They are now an easier target Ingame UI can now be doubled in size, making it easier to read on the big screens. Access it in the pause menu I really like how the development is progressing and I still feel that I'm on track for the final release :-)
- DevLog #13: Small adjustments to the game - 28 July 2020
The development is still in progress and this last week I have made the following adjustments to the game: Player bullet has been buffed The player bullet was kind of weak, so I have adjusted its damage and made it a bit faster. It is now also capable of making tiny adjustments in flight for better aiming against enemy targets Hydra missiles launches at once Hydra missiles are no longer being deployed from the player plane. They are launched at once and fly towards the crosshair target on ground More is comming I am working on optimizing the game code to avoid lags when large amounts of particles are shown (mainly smoke particles).
- DevLog #12: Attack helicopter now added to the game - 21 July 2020
For this update, I have added a new helicopter you can choose and fly, as an alternative to the twin propellered attack helicopter of the future. The Tiger helicopter has a small advantage, as it is a bit smaller and it makes it somewhat easier to dodge bullets from AA guns. If you have played the game, please leave a review for other potential players. It will mean a lot to me and to the development of the game :-)
- Devlog #11: Added more enemies and statistics to gameover - 14 July 2020
Development is still going on and this time I added some statistics to the game over screen. I also added extra helicopters buzzing around you, once you get to the higher levels. I'm really interested in, if you find the game too difficult at this time? I'm planning on adding a few extra achievments to the game. Hopefully soon :) Tasks not started : 11 Tasks completed : 182 Until next time :)

- DevLog #9: More progress and getting closer to EA release - 24 June 2020
I have used the last couple of days to get my breath back after the Steam Game Festival. It didn't go 100% as I had hoped, but it was a good experience for other games to come. I have added the Game Over sequence to the game and it is now almost in a state, where you can play the whole game. This also means that EA release day is nearing ːsteamhappyː I will release the game in EA at a reduced price, which will rise to full price when the final game releases. Tasks not started : 21 Tasks completed : 147

- A Small bugfix has been released - 17 June 2020
A small bug in the Options screen has been identified and fixed in the latest build of the demo. Current version number is 0.17ea (can be seen from the main screen in lower right corner). Hope you like the game and keep on playing!! :)
- The DEMO is now live, come chat with the dev - 17 June 2020
During the Steam Game Festival you can download and play the DEMO version of Raid on the Zone. I hope you will like it, and want to see more :) The DEMO is a work in progress and is actively being developed upon. If you want to chat with me, comment or criticize the game, you're more than welcome to join me on my Discord server : https://discord.gg/zQgwH3x I will be available during the festival period :)
- The demo is LIVE! - 16 June 2020
Hi, I've created a first playable demo of my remake of an old arcade classic from the C64 era. It will feature the playing map, the player, a lot of enemies (not all though) and the mechanics. The demo has no ending and you can play for as long as you like, even though you'll die a lot. You won't get a GAME OVER message. This IS a demo, and a very early one. So you will probably encounter bugs and things that don't work. I hope you will use the discussions linked here to tell me about your observations. I also hope you will also take the time to give me feedback on the game. Any and all information is valuable to me, in making this a great game for everyone to enjoy. Thank you :)
- DevLog #8: My son has recreated the Aerospatiale SA-2 Samson - 9 June 2020
I'm so proud of my son, who helped me with my game by recreating the dual-propelled helicopter used in the movie Avatar. I thought it would be a good "upgrade" from the helicopter in the original game, that Raid on the Zone is inspired from. Now I just need to implement the flight characteristics of the original as a supplement to my current flight model. This way you get to choose which flight model you want to play the game in. Tasks not started : 28 Tasks completed : 113
- DevLog #7: Addition of the upgrade shop - 4 June 2020
These last couple of days I have been working mainly on improvements, bugfixes and the addition of a shop, where you will be able to buy upgrades for your twin-copter. When you kill of an enemy asset, you will earny money. Use the money to buy needed upgrades in the shop. The following upgrades will be available: Hydra rockets These small rockets are pure fire and forget. They will travel on a direct path towards the ground. Objects in their way will get a decent amount of damage. AIM-9 Sidewinder Air-to-air missile which will home in on enemy aircraft within a certain distance Defensive flares Deploy these when you have an enemy missile on your tail. If you have full power and no damage, you will be able to dodge a missile, but if you're damaged it is safer to release some flares Upgraded armour These double kevlar platings will protect your aircraft from all kinds of fire. They will d…
- DevLog #6: Making a MARK - 28 May 2020
I've been adding some more weaponry to the player's arsenal. Namely the Mark MK-82 unguided bomb. The player will be able to carry 8 of these 500lb bombs to the target and they will do good damage to the enemy's facilities or at least make some pretty deep holes in the ground. The game is getting closer to the release of the playable demo and I'm finetuning it daily to give you the best possible experience. Tasks not started : 33 Tasks completed : 87 The number of tasks still keeps growing, but I'm also closing a lot of them :-)
- DevLog #5 - Getting more content ready for the game - 24 May 2020
The last couple of days I've been working on adding sound effects to the game and it really sounds good now and you will be able to hear it from left or right, far away or close by. Very promising for the atmosphere. I also got around to one of the essential parts of the game, the detroying of factories. Factories needs to be destroyed in order to beat the game, otherwise they will keep producing parts for the enemy's war machine. And now you can destroy them and progress in the game. But be careful, the enemy wont take it lightly that you destroy their assets. Tasks not started : 38 Tasks completed : 60
- Devlog #4: Doing great progress and a demo coming - 18 May 2020
Starting from this small devlog no. 4 I will show the progress on the game. I have a project tracker in place, and as it stands currently, this is how far the game is in development: Tasks not started : 37 Tasks completed : 49 Both these numbers will increase over time, as I find new things to code in the game or when bugs needs fixing. But this way you can follow the journey :) I'm also working on building a demo of the game, so that you can get your first experience on the game and the feel for it. I really hope for some feedback when it's been released.
