Bug Fixes Flashlight battery no longer dies after prolonged use. Save game feature reworked, is now much more flexible. Fixed small bug preventing some players from finishing the game. Pipe sound bug fixed in Room 4. Added Features Y axis Inversion, can be enabled in Settings > Gameplay. NOTE: You must click "Accept" at bottom of settings menu to enable this feature, & will not invert the cursor in main menu. VSync can be enabled in Settings > Video. Still to Come Controller Support - This update contains a lot of the foundation for controller support in Liquidators, we hope to fully finish this with our next update. Foreword Hello everyone! In all honesty I was not expecting us to get this far. We’ve been working on this project for about a year now and it has been a rough road. There were many moments that could've sealed our project from existing. Nevertheless, we didn’t give up, asked around, and gathered a very passionate group who wanted to see this project come to light. I couldn’t be more proud of what our team has been able to accomplish regardless of the circumstances. This is a miracle project that survived all odds. Premise: The Chernobyl Disaster is one the subjects that I’m most fascinated with. I still remember as a kid about how my father, an environmental engineer, talk about how enormous of a disaster it was and how the radioactive clouds even reached Tehran, which is where we lived. Liquidators Needed At 1:23 in the morning on April 26th 1986, the Chernobyl nuclear reactor witnessed a nuclear disaster unlike any before. The following weeks were some of the most uncertain times in the event, as thousands of emergency responders and volunteers surged to help in the cleanup efforts. These people were known as the Liquidators. In particular, 3 Liquidators by the names of Boris Baranov, Valeri Bezpalov, Alexei Ananenko made an effort 2 weeks after the meltdown, which required them to tread directly under the melted down reactor to release the pressure in particularly volatile valves. It is without a doubt that if this act of heroism were not completed by these men, the reaction between the water and the radioactive matter would've have spread the nuclear fallout well into Europe, making it uninhabitable for centuries to come. Who are the Liquidators? The Chernobyl Liquidators were the group of people from many different walks of life who risked their own personal health and future in order to ensure a safe Europe, in the aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. While not responsible for the disaster, the Liquidators were looked to as the solution, and only hope in containing a global crisis. Liquidators actively cleaned the site from 1986 to 1989, totaling around 300,000 individuals involved in the cleanup effort. "Following the dissolution of the USSR in the 1990s, the health of liquidators has proved difficult to monitor. This has been compounded by Russia’s reluctance to provide the true figures for the disaster, or even on make serious estimates. the health toll for the survivors continues to be a matter of debate. What is Liquidators? Liquidators is an interactive experience set in the immediate aftermath of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Players are given control of the 3 plant workers tasked with draining the water tanks located directly beneath the destroyed reactor, diffusing what could become a much worse disaster. Armed with a geiger counter, a flashlight, and their own unique abilities, the three liquidators navigate the aftermath of one of the worst nuclear disasters of all time. Every moment is permanent, and all is at stake. Based on actual events, this experience depicts one of the many important missions taken on by the Liquidators of Chernobyl, effectively rescuing Europe from centuries of nuclear fallout.
