- The Day One prologue is retiring - 14 March 2022
Dear gumshoes, The full release of Chinatown Detective Agency is just around the corner (release date announcement coming VERY soon). As we get ready for this momentous occasion, we'll be closing down the Day One prologue store page on the 16th of March. It has done a great job of giving players a glimpse into the world of CDA for the past two years. Yet the prologue showed an early version of the game, and doesn't faithfully capture the full scale and story of the real game. It's time to look to the future. We also want to make sure all the people following the game rely on just one store page for all their news and updates. The changes are as follows: Fixed a major bug where it was not possible to submit a search term at the library reception in mission 1. We've been continuing work on the game, and thanks to the wonderful feedback from our players, we're happy to introduce a new update to Chinatown Detective Agency: Day One. What to expect in this Pre-Alpha 2: This build introduces new QoL improvements, U.I. tweaks, and new ambient tracks and SFX. The game now supports widescreen and ultra widescreen monitors. In-game is now fully functional (i.e. a player must be on time for missions and flights). There are several new environments, bringing our new location count to 32. To everyone who was looking forward to the launch of the Chinatown Detective Agency Prologue later today, It is with massive disappointment that I have to announce we’re delaying the release by a couple of days. We are now releasing the Prologue on Friday, October 2, 7:00 am PDT / 10:00 pm SG. I’m very disheartened. I know a lot of people were looking forward to this, but at the moment of this announcement, there are still some things that need fixing so that you enjoy the game to its fullest. In fact, even after the release, we will continue improvements to the game, but we really want to provide you with the prologue before the weekend. We believe that delaying the game so that we can release it in a much better state is way better than disappointing all of you with a noticeably flawed version just to meet the previously planned launch date.
