After two weeks of testing and positive feedback from the loyal Winter Ember community, the Community Beta Branch is getting pushed LIVE on the Main branch! After the tragic events in Chapter 0, Chapter 1 continues the origin of our anti-hero, Arthur Artorias. A man stripped of his past and forced to escape into isolation. Thought to be dead, he returns eight years later as a different man, disfigured, seeking answers, and pursuing revenge. It is within this Graphic Novel, to be released in full on August 25th, that we see the kindling origins of Winter Ember’s Anti-Hero. It is not like assassins walk around with “Hello, I am… Your neighbourhood mercenary!” badges attached to their black cloaks. No.. When we first meet Arthur in the charmingly gloomy, Victorian-esque setting of Winter Ember, he is as ominous and faceless as the night. As we learn the ropes of the game, we become him… Swiftly moving from barrel to corner, avoiding the light and line of sight, deftly taking down the patrolling officers nearby. For us, it is a simple, logical matter of premise. Use the cover of darkness to take down this patrolling officer so that we can continue on unimpeded and unarrested.
