  • Happy New Year - 4 January 2022

Hello Dear Community, As the year is coming to the end, we’d like to make some updates on Fishkeeper’s development. Notwithstanding all the rumors, the project is not dead and we haven’t abandoned it. We are just still in need of funding, seeking opportunities to make a fully playable game. It’s much harder as we are an independent team, working on our own projects in our free time only. Stay tuned for the next year – we promise that as soon as we get a chance to develop the game to the fullest extent, we’ll let you know. And we wish you a happy New Year too. Take care

  • [DEV DIARY: KICKSTARTER] - 7 April 2021

Fishkeeper on Kickstarter Watch the new Fishkeeper Kickstarter trailer: Hello guys, there’s a day when we’re setting off to reach an extremely important milestone on the way to the full game version. As you know, Fishkeeper is a big project that involves such things like advanced AI, web mechanisms, good quality graphics and animations, and much more similar stuff. As you may’ve heard, the costs of all that works are truly expensive and often counted in hundreds of thousand $. That’s the moment when our team’s own funds are out. We don’t want to seek protection from big publishers and stock investors as they would gain direct control on Fishkeeper and strictly limit our vision and ability to create the project together with you guys, basing on the community’s ideas. If we sell Fishkeeper, we would stop being truly ‘indie’, and the game wouldn’t be that good as we want. Today we’re launc…

  • Fishkeeper aims to become The Sims for aquarium hobbyists - 23 February 2021

When Blinkclick Games, a small indie studio based in Krakow, first sat down together to work out what the plan for its first game would be, the developers agreed: they wanted to make something that was innovative, with "completely new mechanics". It would involve a complex economics simulation and highly realistic AI, but instead of making a flashy FPS or a new RTS game , the studio turned to something its members knew from first-hand experience. They decided to make a game about fish. Fishkeeper is, put as simply as possible, an aquarium simulator. And while it's not the first or only aquarium game, Blinkclick CEO and creative director Piotr Soska tells us it's different in that it's built on as much real-world information about fish, their habitats, and aquariums as the studio has been able to lay hands on since it began creating the game. "Our producer Jarek says he used to be seriou…

We thank our fans for their support and plenty of posts, shares and advice - it is always important for us to know your needs and expectations, so keep it up. We wish you all a Happy New 2021 Year! Hope you will get Fishkeeper under the Christmas tree next year ːsteamhappyː

  • First gameplay video on IGN! - 15 December 2020

A month has passed after Fishkeeper was announced in the media and the first very early gameplay film was published on the IGN YouTube channel. The gameplay shows the basic building process of a fish tank and early purchase and deleting mechanics. Keep in mind that it is a very early phase of the game development - it’s about a month from the time we started creating the proper game. Treat it rather as proof we don’t get too comfortable and move forward! Tell us what you think about it - we appreciate your feedback. As the game will have some progress later, we will be publishing new materials presenting new game features and add them here to the community as a dev diary, so stay launched.

  • Fishkeeper, the most cyberpunk way to keep fish, is coming in 2021 - 7 December 2020

The year is 2020 and you have one mission: making some cool-looking fish as happy as possible. That's the basic idea behind Fishkeeper , the most cyberpunk way to keep fish. It's on the way to Steam and set to launch at the end of 2021. For now though, you can have a look at a preliminary gameplay video of Fishkeeper. It's a life simulation game with some tycoon elements: you'll set up an aquarium, deck it out with sand, equipment, and scenery, and then populate it with your favourite kinds of fish. In the video below, you'll see that you can choose from freshwater or saltwater species, and there's a wide selection of accessories, plants, and toys to use to make your fish tank an interesting place to live. Fishkeeper even goes beyond the normal aquarist experience by giving you a way to actually hang out with your fishy friends - plop in a submersible drone called a 'bathyscale' and you…
