- 15 Sept release and upcoming features - 19 July 2023
Release is inevitable We've been hard at work in making the game more fun and stable and have set a release date on 15 September 2023. Testing will close on 15 Aug, so be sure to get your game on before that! New features We are currently working on two new features, which will go live to testing in the end of July. Fervor system Tweak gameplay elements for individual runs, making the game harder or easier! Bragging rights go to those who play with maximum fervor. Includes for example monster resist tweaks, damage type tweaks and coin drop tweaks. Think Hades' Pact of Punishment, but this goes both ways. Character classes We're introducing player classes. At first they will only affect starting deck and stats, but great things have been planned for them.
- Beta Test Open - 17 August 2022
BETA TEST OPEN NOW Beta test can be accessed by anyone until we close taking new participants. Most likely we'll limit it to the first 500 or so. During the test we mainly want people to play the game, but if you got feedback or feature requests or spot a bug, we'll be glad to hear it reported. Our current focus is on balancing the early and end game and the itemization. We will be implementing new features and changing the balance as we go along, so remember to keep on playing. We've also got some graphics updates on the pipeline coming out this week or the next. -Dapper Grim
- Beta Test 2 opening soon - 5 August 2022
Taking some new graphics and a whole lot of new concepts to testing. The game has developed lots and we hope to gain lots of insight and most importantly we hope to provide fun for all! Stay tuned, we should be opening the beta to requests in the upcoming week. The beta will stay open for a few weeks, or until we've gathered enough data. Don't forget to report findings and bugs and amount of fun / not fun.
- Rogue Cards - State of development - 30 January 2022
Been a while since we've posted anything, so I though I'd get you guys up to speed. Since the demo on Steam Next Fest, there have been quite a lot of changes to the core game. We've digested the feedback and we've added several new features into the game and we're working on testing them at the moment. I'll list them here in order of coolness (as judged by me): Rival System If you've ever played Middle-Earth: Shadow of ... games, you are pretty much up to speed. Certain bosses and mini-bosses in the game will develop different stacks and attacks as you get beaten by them, and this will also affect their card drops. Card realms Each realm will now have unique card drops (with unique graphics too) specific to that realm. So it will matter a LOT which path you take. And in order to collect those really wanted cards, you need to think more roguelite and less roguelike. We feel this adds gre…
- Steam Next Fest Breakdown - 8 October 2021
Steam Next Fest was a huge success for us, even with our slightly hurried prep for it (life happened a lot just before and we were a bit behind on various aspects that I wanted to include in the demo). I did a short stream on Sunday that gained 10k unique viewers, which was a much larger than anticipated! Thanks to all who watched and listened to me ramble about deck management, tactics and strategy. Our demo gathered a lot of interests, with 1000+ registrations for it, and 150 downloads. While that is nothing compared to the more advanced titles from higher profile studios, we got some dedicated players doing several rounds, and gathered a lot of data to analyze as we prepare to go into closed beta. A huge thanks to all who played! What the data tells us, is that not many were able to get past the first boss: The Ogre. The difficulty level is high in the start, but it's a roguelite aft…
- Rogue Card played live by dev today! - 3 October 2021
Rogue Card dev playing a few rounds and showing some strategies.
- Live from the Dev! - 2 October 2021
Dapper Grim will be playing a few rounds for you to see.
- Playtest closed - 24 April 2021
A huge thank you to all who participated! We gathered a lot of feedback on balancing and the fun factor of the gameplay and are digesting them now. We've already implemented a lot of the UI changes proposed, but are still working on making the experience smoother. As I posted in our last update, we're doing music and art and will also keep putting those in. Next time the game will be playable during the Steam Next Fest in June - so stay tuned!
- New GUI - 5 April 2021
A complete overhaul of the GUI is complete! A couple of screens still have old placeholder graphics (namely Necromancer and Camp fire), but we're slowly getting there. In the short term we're still actively looking for playtesters and feedback, so come and join the fun! After finishing graphics, our next big goal is music. Stay "tuned" for that, eheheheh. As well as music, we're working on putting some flesh into the story and will add some story points as the game progresses. Keep playing and keep wishlisting! -Dapper Grim
- First month - 1 February 2021
The first month The alpha was released for testing in the beginning of January 2021. Our goal in this playtest is to tune the balance and iron out bugs. So far that's been going great! We opted for doing small hotfixes as we saw them and as they were reported. The first month thus saw 7 updates, ending in a major update to the back-end logic that controls our statistics reporting and save games. In our end, the statistics server functions as a real "who is who" and some of the data from it will be made public as we go forward. So in the future you can show of your skill to your friends! We are still looking for more testers, so please join us before the testing slots are filled. Visit us in Reddit to discuss the game! Going forward Our goal for the near term is to fine-tune the balance of the game. Currently the game is difficult, but is it hard enough? There might still be some bugs to…
