- Balancing Patch - 31 January 2025
Hey all, This update focuses on making the game more difficult and the AI smarter. I did a major buff patch a few months ago, and since then average playtime has dropped so this patch aims to make the game more fun and engaging by having more difficulty in the combat. Here is the patch notes for this update: AI Improvements: All enemies will now properly track you if you get close to them even if their reposition isn't finished. Mirage(Speedster enemy) now has more health. General Changes: The health bar will now animate when changes happen to it. Player health has been nerfed significantly. Player health regeneration now happens once every 1 second as long as you are not being hit by enemies. It has a 10% increase for each tick.
- Hotfix For Leaderboards - 1 July 2024
This patch fixes a bug where the leaderboards would not show a mouse cursor causing you to get stuck in the menu.
- Leaderboard Improvements - 28 June 2024
Changes in this update include: 1. New Leaderboard design with steam integration, your leaderboard name will be taken from the steam platform instead of being manually inputted for easier and more accurate tracking. Score willl also be added to the leaderboard even if its not open like when you get a kill. 2. A new hit animation for boltbreak when a enemy hits you. 3. Improved steam support on the backend. 4. A new water shader that looks better and is more performant. 5. Various bug fixes. Old anonymous usernames on the leaderboard will be deleted, to update your score with your new name just enter the game and kill at least 1 enemy or die, the game will then take your existing kill score save and upload it to the leaderboard with the steam nickname you have set on your profile.
- Launcher fix and back on Steam - 13 June 2024
BoltBreak 1 has returned to sale on Steam, I worked out the issues I had with Valve over pricing changes so people can now buy and play it on Steam again. The game will no longer be free to play as well, it is now paid upfront with all content included, if you bought the DLC you will still have that content. The game should now launch properly as well, I had changed the name of the executable file unreal creates and steam had issues finding it, this should now be fixed. if steam related issues happen again please report it to me on discord as almost all testing is done outside of steam either in the unreal editor or through windows explorer and I likely will not be aware of it until I need to open the steam version for some reason or its reported. Side Note: I saw some old posts from 2023 and 2022 about the game having errors or having issues with DLC, I do not check the steam community…
- Massive Update for BoltBreak 1 - 29 April 2024
Calling all heroes, Pretty much everything has changed in this update, I will list the changes below. 1. New graphics on all maps. 2. New menu scene with skin selection, new settings, and changed positions of menu items such as upgrades. 3. Flight has been removed and replaced with improved speedster movement. 4. 3 new enemies coming from BoltBreak 2 have been added including Mirage (speedster), Skullcrusher(Strength tank enemy), and Viper(warrior enemy). 5. - Major Overhaul(Redux Update) - 18 April 2023
The game now has completely redesigned maps with major graphics overhauls and other gameplay changes to things like ambiance, music, AI, objectives, movement, and more. You will see the changes once you have downloaded the update.

- Reduced file size - 5 October 2022
Hey hero, I am releasing a patch that adds the following QOL fixes 1. The kill score will now save between play sessions 2. The file size has been reduced from 2.7 gb to 1.7 gb. 3. There is now a prompt in the game that will allow you to review the game on steam without having to leave the game. it happens at random and will only be shown once. I promise not to spam you with it. NOTE: boltbreak is not in active development but will get continued support for small QoL or bugs that need fixing.

- Critical Bug Fix - 14 March 2022
It was reported that some of the levels on load would not take input from the player, this has been fixed. this bug patch also fixes an issue where certain models in the game would simulate physics and fly around. I apologize about this making it to steam, I had testied it via unreal engine, but during the building process of the game files, some files got messed up, this has been fixed. Thank you for reporting this to me.
- BoltBreak Goes Free To Play - 12 March 2022
Hey Player, I have amazing news for you, BoltBreak is now free to play for everyone! With this update a few things have changed. UX: 1. New death screen that properly illustrates you died with full animations and sound effects. 2. New pause menu that is animated and and has improved layout. 3. New main menu layout that has new button designs. Optimizations: 1. General optimization has been made. 2. Fixed a bug where the laser eyes would tank performance. Movement: 1. The movement now has improved feel to it, such as the camera moving back when activating superspeed, and more weight to turning.

Today I have released BoltBreak from early access, I completed the game I had envisioned when I started development. along with the release from early access is new content additions. The Content that was added is -new Arena Map with NightTime Setting -new Animations for movement -new Player and Enemy Models -level selection menu -improved ground textures on the ground in the maps -ability bar with a cooldown system -animations for being hit for both player and enemy this update also includes numerous bug fixes and gameplay tweaks.
