- Capture the Flag Test Build - 15 November 2021
Our newest game mode is currently in the public testing phase. While this hasn't been pushed to the full public release yet, it is available on a playtest branch that we've created for those who want to try it out and give us feedback. This mode is available online only for 4-8 players. You can start with less than 4 if you really want, but we recommend trying to get together at least 3 friends to give it a go. This works like a standard CTF map. 2 teams, 2 flags. Games go to 5 flags or 10 minutes. Whichever happens first. In the future we'll look at adding customization to that for those that need it. If you want to access this mode, go ahead and use this beta code: E7u7AD8WENA6vvSC Using this code will allow you to choose the Playtest beta. After you download it, the CTF map option will be there. To add this code, right click on hyperblade in your inventory, go to the beta tab and ent…
- Gamepad Camera update - 20 October 2021
We've implemented a new camera for the gamepad that should make flying a bit easier. This new camera will auto-tilt depending on the vertical direction traveled and speed making it a little easier when navigating areas where you might have to fly directly up and down. We're going to tweak this a little more and also add an option for those who want to maintain the manual controls

We've only been out a short time, and still have lots of work to do, but we want to take a moment to say thanks to all the creators who have created short videos or streamed Hyperblade already. We're going to list and link the ones we're aware of in no particular order and encourage everyone to go check out their videos and channels. - Control Binding update - 6 September 2021
Fixed a couple of missing control bindings for gamepad and VR
- Release version - 31 August 2021
Within the next 24 hours or so you should see an update for Hyperblade on steam. This update will push our release version to the public branch. As outlined in our previous news this new version includes a lot of updates. VR, arena mode, online up to 8 players, crossplay between VR and non-VR. Several new maps, visual effects, a new UI, and lots of other bells and whistles. What does all this mean for Hyeprblade going forward? Just because we hit a milestone doesn't mean that we're done with the game. We've got additional things that we want to add, balance and expand. Loose Roadmap We don't have specific dates for these items, but these are the main areas of focus that we're going to work on for now: 1. Capture the flag mode - Like the name suggests, we're going to add a capture the flag mode to go along with Arena, combat, and regular races. That means new maps. 2. Controls - Time per…
- Arena Mode, VR, New Maps - Incoming Updates - 2 August 2021
It's been awhile since our last update, but that's not because we haven't been doing anything. For the last few months we've been working on a major update to the game bringing us towards a 1.0 release. Over the next few weeks we'll finishing some optimization, bug fixes and putting some polish on some maps and features. This update is to give you an idea of some of the things we have coming. VR One of the biggest things included in this update is VR support. Any HMD should work, we've tested it on both Oculus Rift and HTC Vive. Controller wise though you'll need either the oculus touch controllers, the newer valve index controllers or a gamepad. The vive wands just weren't built for this kind of game. You can attempt to use them if you want, but we won't be supporting that control scheme. In VR you get a first person view of your drone and the controls will mimic the current gamepad co…
- HyperBlade Coming Soon - 4 March 2021
HYPERBLADE coming soon! Aerial combat racing with collectible power-ups! Online Multiplayer or local split-screen with controller support.
- Flight Update - 24 February 2021
Welcome to our next update for Hyperblade. In this update we're improving the AI and the flight mechanics, as well as adding a new small map. First off, to make our AI a little more challenging we've improved both the way it flies and allowed it to make aggressive use of pickups. The AI will now go after the various pickups on the map and it can be affected by them the same as you. Both good and bad. As well we've improved the way that the AI takes tight turns which means that not only will it navigate tight maps better, it means we can increase the speeds on all maps. Currently we've increased the speed on the space station, but all of our maps and speeds will be balanced going forward. Player flight mechanics have had some work done under the hood. Not all of the changes are live, but we have put in a system to handle setting up drone stats so that each drone will handle a little diff…
- HyperBlade 1.1 Update - Game controller support - 12 January 2021
After a completely rework of our menu back-end we've released a new update which has (or should have) full controller support. If you notice any issues with navigation or anything of that sort, do let us know in the forums. All menus have been modified to display the game controller focus so you can navigate and see which buttons you have selected. This should work in big picture mode as well. An onscreen keyboard was included so you can set names and passwords for online games and also use the chat with the controller. There were various minor map and material optimizations done as well with more of those to come. We're currently working on expanding the combat system with multiple weapons, as well as additional maps and drones. Enjoy!
- HyperBlade Released into Early Access - 21 December 2020
After months of hard work Kavasoft is proud to announce that Hyperblade has released into early access. We're by no means finished at this point and we have lots of content to add over the coming year and we're looking forward to your feedback to help us shape the gameplay and experience. In our initial release we've added 2 more maps, each with 2 separate courses on them. 3 drones have been added and you'll be able to unlock those as you gain levels from racing. The first weapon has been added for combat races with more of those to come later as well. As well online races have been added. Your high score list will be a personal one for you. It will be made up of your own times on tracks as well as the times of friends that you race against. Controller support is working for in-game flight, but we have a little work to do on the menus where there is only partial support. That will be on…
- Demo Released - 2 December 2020
We're proud to announce that a playable demo for Hyperblade is now available on the main store page. This demo is being made available to give everyone an idea of the direction we're going leading up to our release later this month on December 17th. While not a complete experience this does show off single player time attack against the AI, practice mode which allows free flight around the track and local split screen racing against a friend. We have enabled remote play, but we can't guarantee the performance of that. The demo is not a feature complete version. We're going to be adding a lot of features, maps and drones to the game as we go. Currently planned features to look forward to: 1. Combat - Inspired by games like Death Track we're going to be adding a combat mechanic to the races and increasing the amount of racers on the track. 2. Unlockable career mode - As you win races you'…
