- Update 9 - Block Signals, Railroad Crossings, Misc. Objects - 5 May 2024
Hello everyone! Update 9 is here! In this update I have introduced a few new features to the game. The first one is miscellaneous objects, these are things like roads, buildings, trees, and road crossings. They don't serve any purpose, they are purely for aesthetic reasons. They are found under their own category in the build mode interface. Next, I have added Block Signals. This feature has been requested a few times, and it helps to control automated trains. Basically, any trains running on either cruise control or on the automated path mode will stop at a signal until the associated block is clear. The Block Signal is found next to the powered rails in the build mode interface. After placing a Block Signal, you can select it to add additional signals to it, or to define which rails will trigger the signal. By default, no rails will be defined, you have to tell it which rails you want…
- Update 8.2 - 26 March 2024
Hello everyone, another update for the new automation feature. You no longer have to place a second flag at the starting point to make the train loop. Simply make sure that the path returns back to the first flag and toggle loop. Added Start and Resume flags. When you stop a train that if following a route, you have two options to restart the route. If you take the train back to the Start flag and press start, the whole route will restart. If you take the train back to the Resume flag and press start, the train will continue from where it left off. Fixed a few bugs with resetting the train path and it not displaying in the correct place. Fixed a bug with the path not displaying properly depending on the trains location. Updated the tutorial to accommodate the new adjustments to the path placing. Try it out and let me know your thoughts and any issues that you encounter. Thanks!
- Update 8.1 - 10 March 2024
A small update to fix some issues with the train automation feature. Fixed a bug where trains would stay at a station after loading/unloading cargo. This only affects stations with a drain pipe for draining tank cars. Added an option to delete flags. The path flags are now numbered in sequential order. Fixed a UI bug in the train drive mode. I will continue to work on and improve the automation feature based on the feed back that was received. So, if you have any feedback or suggestions regarding this feature or anything else, be sure to let me know. Thanks!
- Update 8 - 2 March 2024
Hello everyone! In this update I am adding some automation for trains. This feature has been requested for a while, and I have decided to add it. This isn't meant to be complete automation, rather it is to be used for mundane tasks such as delivering food to towns. These things need to be done routinely and can be quite tedious, but with this new feature, you can automate them! The way it works is you have to add flags along the train's path and at each flag you can specify some action, such as unload cargo, reverse direction, change junction position, etc. You must always place a flag on junctions, as you need to tell the train what to do. The flags need to be placed in the order that you want them to trigger, so plan your path before placing the flags. The path can be looped, but you must start and end it on the same point. When running on a path, the trains could still run out of fue…
- A few bugfixes. - 19 December 2023
- Fixed a bug where warehouse would disappear when upgrading a City to a Metropolis. - Fixed a bug where powerlines would disappear when upgrading Cities. - Fixed a bug with multiple electric locomotives and cruise control. - Fixed a bug with locomotive lights not saving. - Fixed a UI tooltip bug for the diesel multiple unit locomotive. - Added some moonlight during nighttime to make the map brighter.
- Winter Update! - 16 December 2023
Hello everyone! The winter update is here! I am introducing a temporary winter mode which just covers everything in snow. You can toggle it on or off in the main menu. I have added some lights to all of the buildings during nighttime. I have also added a light to the cursor while in build mode at night. I have added an option to toggle the day/night cycle on or off. And I have fixed some bugs when deleting cities. That is all for the update, and happy holidays!
- Day/Night Cycle - 18 November 2023
Hello everyone! I have now removed the Halloween mode. It was just a temporary mode to test out the night time rendering. I have added a Day/Night cycle to the game. It takes around 80 minutes in-game to cycle through a full 24 hour cycle. The locomotives now have front and rear lights which can be toggled individually. The night time looks a little dark right now, so I will probably add some night time lights to all the buildings. The resources will now response periodically, so you should never run out. I have added a hotkey to disable the UI, and I have fixed some bugs and typos. That's all for this update. Thanks!
- Update 5 - Halloween Dark Mode - 18 October 2023
Hello everyone! Another update is here. I have added a temporary Halloween themed dark mode. It sets the lighting to dark, and adds some lights to all the buildings and locomotives. The lights on the locomotives can be toggled on and off with the L key. I plan to add a day/night cycle, so this is just a test to see how the game looks and performs with the new lighting. I had to change the way the rendering works, so please report any issues. This mode will only be available for a few weeks. I added some different color scheme options for cars, to match some of the existing locomotives. I did some tweaking with the junctions, they will no longer switch automatically if there is a car on the junction. It might still happen from time to time, but it shouldn't be as frequent. I added a brightness slider. That's it for this one. Thanks!
- Update 4 - 16 September 2023
Hello everyone! It has been a while since the last update. I have added a few new things to the game. - Electric locomotives. There are two new locomotives both are electric, one can carry passengers. Electric locomotives can only operate on powered rails. - Powered rails. Aside from Building Points and Rail Points, there are now Powered Rails, which are used to upgrade rails with power lines for electric trains. Powered rails require a Power Plant to operate. To create powered rails you need a Cable Factory. - New buildings. Cable Factory and Power Plant. Cable Factory converts iron ore and rocks into cables. Cables are used to upgrade rails to be powered. Power Plants consume either coal or fuel to provide electricity for Powered Rails. - There is a new button that allows you to pick up derailed cars and place them back on the track. - Locomotives now have a parking brake. Toggling it…
- Update 3 - 10 June 2023
Hello everyone! Just a small update this time. I have added some new options to the Free Build mode options. You can now select how many rails, buildings, and Train Depot resources you want. This will allow you to just build large railroads and trains without having to worry about gathering resources. I also added an option to disable height map generation in Free Build mode, which will give you a flat map. I also made the tooltips stay on until you move the mouse off the button, and I fixed a few bugs that were introduced in the previous update. That is all. Thanks!
- Update 2 - 30 May 2023
Hello everyone! Update 2 is here. In this update I have added a new locomotive. It is a DMU which can carry passengers just like a passenger car, but can also be used to pull other cars. I have added an option to change the camera focus to one of the cars instead of the locomotive when controlling a train. I have added an option to select how many starting resources you want when creating a free build game. I have also added a decoupling sound. Some suggestions have been to add electric cables and electric trains, as well as train control options. I will look into these things further and see what I can come up with. I also hope to add some decorations to the game that can be placed around the map, things like trees, huts, houses, roads, etc. They won't serve any purpose, but could be there just to improve the visual aesthetics for fun. Thanks!
- Update 1.01 - 24 May 2023
- Fixed a couple bugs that had to do with buffers not deleting after a track was deleted. If you have some buffers stuck in the middle of the track, try deleting the track on both sides of the buffer. If the buffer is stuck with no tracks around it, place a piece of track on either side, then delete them, it should delete the buffer as well.
- Update 1 - 22 May 2023
Hello everyone! It has been an exciting launch of the game, and now I am excited to announce the first update. In this small update I have fixed some bugs that occurred when placing buildings. I have added horns/whistles to the game, each train has a unique horn sound. I have added an option to delete derailed cars, there is a new bulldozer button for it in the top right corner. I have also fixed some typos. If you have any suggestions for future updates, or if you have found some bugs, you can post them on the main discussion page. Thanks everyone!

Thanks everyone and have a good one!
- Game Update and Release - 22 March 2023
Hello everyone! It has been a while since I made any updates about the game. I didn't expect the development of this game to take so long, I do apologize for the delays. I feel like the game is nearing release now, the current planned release date is around summer 2023, in June or July. I have made many changes and updates to the game. Previously, the terrain was always flat, now the terrain has a randomly generated heightmap applied to it. In addition to that, you can build elevated rails and slopes, in order to get to that elevated terrain. I have added several different types of locomotives, including diesel, coal, and electric. The locomotives now have fuel, and will require to be regularly refuled at the Fuel Depot. Electric locomotives recharge on their own, but they are very weak, and have a very short range. The locomotives now have a few different color schemes to choose from a…
