Let's have a brief look at the previously recorded broadcasts before we head into the new one!
- Quickfix v1.07.3 - 28 September 2023
Quickfix v1.07.3 Urgent This is an urgent fix made only when certain potential game breaking bugs are discovered. Bug Fixes 1) Fixed the bug where if you are in the middle of a duel with the AI and you get killed and the game goes into game over countdown and then you continue, the AI will no longer duel you. This has since been fixed. 2) Fixed the Death Beam not hitting enemies across the screen. The collider length was incorrect and has been fixed. 3) Fixed a bug in Boss Rush where the 8th boss can have a lingering script that kills the 11th boss inadvertently. 4) Fixed text grammar in campaign 1 ending. Conclusion Won't be touching the project for the next 2-3 days. Celebrating my birthday today so I'll kindly take a 1-day off doing absolutely nothing. Thanks for your support and please enjoy the game!!
- v1.07.2 - Playing Starlight with new weapons! Part 2 - 28 September 2023
We're going to demonstrate the newest weapons on a game of Arcade mode at Expert difficulty.
- Quickfix v1.07.2 - 27 September 2023
Quickfix Patch Fixed several issues all around the game. Some assets were improved slightly. Changes Improved Enemy Laser Laser Bolt graphic Balanced Microwave Burst damage across all 3 levels. Compensated with higher rate of fire and perpetual hits until it dissipates. Previously, the burst will terminate prematurely after 5-10 hits. Balanced the speed of projectiles multiplied under HARD and EXPERT difficulty. This is to align with the vision that the slowest bullets should have a minimum speed and the fastest bullets should still be avoidable within human reaction time. EXPERT difficulty now deals only 5x damage instead of 10x. It's slightly more forgiving now; just barely. Improved the graphic for Plasma Cannon Level 1 in the weapons shop Lowered the alpha of EMP Cannon impact. This is due to the fact that when each projectile lands multiple hits, it can cause the impact effect to s…

Come join us in our live stream!
- Quickfix v1.07.1 - 26 September 2023
Quickfix v1.07.1 As promised, the bugs were looked into and resolved. Bug Fixes Campaign Tutorial achievement will no longer appear everytime the game launches. This was probably a state-confusion between the game, Steam and the game's anti-cheat algorithms. Fixed a bug where if you've completed a Campaign, you can never start another game with Arcade, Boss Rush, Survival or even Duel PvP. Conclusion We'll try to live stream some of the new features on Steam and/or Twitch. Stay tuned! The announcements will be made. Have fun!

- Starlight is now 64-bits with v1.06 patch released! - 11 January 2023
Patch v1.06 As promised, we've been working on fixing the game's reported bugs and some new ones that were discovered along the way. This patch focuses on 3 things in general: 1) Major game breaking bugs fixed 2) 64-bits adopted 3) New adjustments to difficulty levels New Features None. Switching to 64-bits isn't a new feature but a necessary step for the future. For 32-bits players, it's still possible to play the old build via Library -> Starlight: Eye of the Storm -> Properties -> Beta -> sl32 - Starlight 32-bits Once selected, you should be able to persist with the current 32-bits build though the bugs in it aren't fixed. Changes 64-bits With the game now in 64-bits only, there'll be additional memory required. The minimum memory requirements is still set at 4GB but recommended at 8GB. Graphics For graphics, we now fully support 4K and with it, it means there'll be more VRAM used du…
- Happy New Year and v1.06 updates! - 3 January 2023
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We hope 2022 has been a great year for everyone. It's 2023 now and we're still working on the patch. This announcement is to share some of the progress updates. Changes Difficulties has been revamped. Easiest, Easy and Normal difficulties remain the same. Player damage will no longer be nerfed on higher difficulties. Hard difficulty will require a bit more skill and slightly more grinding to kill enemies. However, the main change is that now enemies will deal 2.5x more damage and enemy bullets now travel TWICE as fast in all aspects (acceleration and speed). HARDEST/Bullet Hell difficulty is totally revamped. Enemies will now spawn with only 75% hp but their bullets will now deal 10x more damage and will travel 3x faster in all aspects. On top of that players' special powers will be auto regenerated over time and killing enemies will top up the power bar regardless of am…
- Merry Christmas!! And updates on the upcoming patch v1.06 - 27 December 2022
Greetings pilots! First of all, we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy Holidays ahead! We'll just like to provide some official updates on what's going on and why there seems to be a radio silence over the last few months. Patch v1.06 We've been working on verifying and fixing bugs that was caused when StridesLib shifted from 32-bits to 64-bits. Apparently, there're quite a few issues - some totally unexpected - cropped up during the upgrade. A 64-bits adoption is but a necessary step towards the future and was decided when we thought v1.05b was stable enough. Apparently not. Therefore, v1.06 will be 64-bits ONLY. Based on our checks, most of us has moved onto 64-bits platform already and should NOT pose a major problem. Current Progress We're currently finishing up on verifying Arcade Mode and will be going into Campaign Mode asap. v1.06 will not introduce any new game modes YET.…
- Possible Fullscreen Issues - 22 May 2022
Dear all, In the recent days I've come across certain errors with setting the game to fullscreen mode. When you do that, the game may suddenly go unstable or renders incorrectly. Here's a possible reason why it's happening: Apparently, if the scaling mode is set at aspect ratio it may prevent you from setting even a screen resolution on other games. The correct option should be: No Scaling Once that's set, you should have no issues setting to a full screen resolution. This should also apply to other games as well. Conclusion So what's the point here? Well, playing in full-screen windowed mode has a rough performance penalty of 15%. You may encounter stuttering as resources are shared between different applications. By setting to fullscreen mode, you dictate that all resources is to go to the game; (no matter which game) and therefore will most likely perform at its best. We hope this ti…
- Major Bug Fix Patch v1.05b - 11 May 2022
Introduction Patch v1.05b has been released! Before we begin, I'd like to lay down a principle of Strides Interactive; that is - regardless of how good or badly the game has been received, regardless of sales, we'll continue to maintain the game as much as possible according to the roadmap. At a bare minimum, the game must be functional. If it's broken, we'll fix it. We'll never leave a broken game in release - that'll be pretty unprofessional of us. Regression As the engine improves, some workflow will be changed and this will more or less lead to regression bugs appearing even when it used to work in previous versions. Therefore, as much as we try NOT to upgrade the game along with the engine, sometimes this is unavoidable. On our end, we do as much testing as possible with our limited hardware and software even. Support for Windows 7 Technically we still support Windows 7, but we no…
- Patch v1.05a Released! - 13 April 2022
V1.05a This is a bug fix patch meant to address several issues, some outstanding ones, together at once. No contents added. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug where weapons that hit only once but is damage-accumulated inflicts full damage upon contact. Ie, a projectile deals 50 dmg, encounters a 10 dmg bullet, should only inflict 40 dmg on a target. Fixed a bug where keyboard controls in the options menu while in-game can become somewhat unstable. ie, some keys registered, others aren't. Fixed a crash bug where if you press multiple joystick buttons at once, it can sometimes lead to a crash. Fixed a soft-lock bug in Controls where waiting for a key to be pressed causes the game to go into a limbo. This is a regression bug; not an existing bug previously. It was introduced during one of the upgrades that unfortunately broke this part of the game. Fixed a small issue with players pressing really quick…
- Survival Mode v1.05 RELEASED! - 2 April 2022
Patch V1.05 Released! As promised, v1.05 brings about a new play mode which is free for all existing customers as well as many improvements made to the game's performance. New Features Survival Mode This is a brand new mode that combines waves from different stages and segments in the Campaign and Arcade modes to form a unique challenge and experience. Even so, there're modifications made to increase the level of challenge. There're 4 different Survival stages, and you'll start with a certain amount of crystals and capsules at the weapon shop to spec your fighter. At the end of each survival stage, you'll be brought back to the weapon shop to utilize your earnings. There'll at most be sub-bosses in this mode. Any bosses that might appear will not stand as a defining objective to be destroyed in order to pass. We hope you'll have fun with this new game mode. P.S. You don't have to comple…
- Starlight: Eye of the Storm v1.04 Released! - 13 January 2022
V1.04 Patch This patch is a maintenance patch with a new weapon being added. The biggest change is underneath where the game's rendering is properly redesigned at the engine level. The amount of stuttering will be reduced. New Contents - Added new weapon: Disruptor - The disruptor is an offensive weapon that has 3 levels. It's a low level weapon open to players right from start (after arcade stage 1) to provide more options. Its unique ability is the chance to inflict double damage. When in effect, it'll further by doubled if there's a double damage bonus. Changes - Improvements were made to the engine which indirectly improved the overall performance of Starlight. The key improvement is that stuttering occurs almost every other second. - Improved Mission 5/Stage 6 boss where the need to take down the shield generators is prompted and counted. While it's not a primary objective, it's th…
- Starlight: Eye of the Storm performance issues - 2 December 2021
Performance Issues We've received word that the game has minor patches of fps dropping during gameplay. This is concerning because we've graded the game to run on the following hardware: CPU: i5-6500 HDD: Normal magnetic 1TB HDD RAM: 16GB GPU: GTX 1650 SUPER with 4GB VRAM OS: Windows 7 This is the recommended specs for an optimal performance. Optimal Performance Optimal performance is defined as follows: Display: FHD 1920x1080x60Hz Frame Rate: 60fps with V-sync Settings: LOD High, Textures High, all effects turned on. Expected degradation in performance: 1) High concentration of bullets ~500 on screen at once. 2) High concentration of 2D and 3D action; ie, 3D ships firing at each other while 2D ships coming on to shoot at you. (ie, Arcade Stage 6 beginning) In those cases, a drop of 10-12 fps was observed for a very brief period of time. NO LOCKUPS expected by definition. Possible Cause…
- Starlight: Eye of The Storm Patch v1.03 released! - 27 November 2021
Patch v1.03 This patch was delayed by 1 week due to additional bugs found during streaming. These bugs were found only because they manifest beyond what a solo dev can afford to find out. Ie, completion with 2 or more players in the Campaign mode. New Features New Weapons! Liquidator Bomb - A proximity-like bomb that explodes with a temporary AoA splash on the spot. Highly toxic and definitely helps in stacking any poison damage. Napalm Flamethrower - A close-range burst of napalm liquid burning itself with a bubble of oxygen, this weapon deals substantial damage by stacking fire damage over time. New Features: NEW: End Shopping for All - in the weapon shop to quickly end shopping for all players. NEW: Retire Players - Feature that exists in both Campaign Map and Weapon Shop - serves to properly retire a player from the game. For Arcade mode, the retirement is permanent. A new player th…
- Patch v1.02 Released! - 12 November 2021
V1.02 Released! This patch deals mostly with bugs encountered/reported. No additional features added this week. Bug Fixes Fixed a bug where the HP indicator will overlap with the message to skip tutorial Fixed a bug where the HP Hull Indicator only, will not update the hit points even after getting repair bonuses. Fixed a bug in multi-hit projectiles where the delay of each hit was cooled off incorrectly. This causes the projectile to hit as slow as 500ms per hit. Adjustments Due to the fix for multi-hits, the respective weapon's damage has been adjusted lower because now it hits more. Side Effect: Multi-hit weapons will now yield more hits combo, therefore more crystals earned. Increased damage for MOST of the multi-hit weapons, ie, Light Particle Cannon 3 and others. All weapons have maintained their overall DPS and most weapons has a slight increase instead. Conclusion More contents…
