- Scorched Earth expansion update - 13 September 2026
The story content for Scorched Earth (both Story Mode and Side Stories) has been completed, and as such, more can be revealed about what the final expansion's story content will consist of. The Scorched Earth expansion's story content is bigger than the base game or any of the 5 previous expansions individually in terms of event piece count (messages, changing variables, character movement, playing music/sounds, animating a character, fading a screen, etc. -- used mainly for measuring cutscene complexity but not necessarily story/gameplay length) by a huge margin (with the entire Scorched Earth expansion being 55% bigger for event piece count than the base game alone, and the Scorched Earth expansion making up 30% of total event pieces for the base game and six expansions), which was a big reason behind this update taking 4 months. Scorched Earth will add 2 new story arcs to Story Mode…
- Nanowish expansion released! - 10 May 2026
Nanowish is a free expansion via patch (V 1.5.0.0), and is available to everyone who owns The Demon Rush: Legends Corrupt. The Nanowish expansion not only adds the final new playable character, Subwoofer, but also adds a large amount of story content to Story Mode (including the final Arena Challenges), alongside 5 new Side Stories. Subwoofer's addition to Prison Break also deserves special mention, as his inclusion in a party acts as a high difficulty version of Prison Break. Work on the final expansion, Scorched Earth, will begin immediately and it will be an entirely story-based expansion.
- Nanowish expansion patch - 10 May 2026
New character, Subwoofer, added for all modes. New content added to Story Mode (New main quest arc, new sidequests, new superdungeon, new Challenges). 5 new Side Stories added (Allisara, Cedtet, Namhaid-Fiairan, Solen, Stel'cra'ded). Conquest has 4 new recruitable monsters (Worshipper of Koda for Fire, Nanosludge for Water, Sable Order for Wind, Kodamech for Earth). Miscellaneous changes and fixes.
- Final Arena Challenges and Final Story Passives - 15 April 2026
The Nanowish expansion will bring the final Crystal Arena Challenges to The Demon Rush: Legends Corrupt, including an incredibly difficult challenge named "The True Most Evil Battle Ever" -- originally, The True Most Evil Battle Ever was to be saved for the final expansion (Scorched Earth) as the ultimate Crystal Arena Challenge, but between the way that Scorched Earth's story flow handling/planning was shaping up and how powerful the characters already were even before the new Nanowish story passives are added, it felt more appropriate to add the ultimate arena challenges to Nanowish instead. As there is still balancing/testing needed for the final Crystal Arena Challenges, the passive abilities below may be altered prior to release, but are being mentioned here to as to what the passives are currently intended to bring to each character. Cherry Passives When Push Comes To Shove -- Eve…

- Nanowish expansion preview - 15 April 2026
The Nanowish expansion has its content completed and is far along in terms of testing and balancing. A preview video for the Nanowish expansion is available on YouTube here. The preview video covers the new content that will be added with the Nanowish expansion (most of which is story-heavy content), and the main features are as follows: The final playable character, Subwoofer, a reality-denying criminal with a very heavy focus on status ailments and warping, will be playable in all modes. A new story arc in a new world will be added to Story Mode, with its own main questline, story-based side quests (which mostly has story passives as rewards) and an optional superdungeon. 5 new Side Stories will be added, for a total of 30 Side Stories when Nanowish releases. - Nanowish progress update - 25 October 2025
This progress update has good news and bad news. The bad news first -- City Expansion has been cancelled for the Nanowish expansion, and there is a dev blog page at http://www.dragoon.ca/tdrlcdevblog183.html detailing the reasons behind the decision. As for the good news, the Nanowish expansion has otherwise been going smoothly, with the story event content (cutscenes, NPC dialogue, travelling between maps) for Story Mode and Side Stories completed. The size of the Nanowish expansion in terms of story content is MUCH bigger than previous expansions. In terms of event piece count (messages, movement, playing music, animating a character, fading a screen, and so on -- can be used as a measurement for scene complexity at times), the Nanowish expansion's event piece count for Story Mode and Side Stories is about 91% of what the base game's event piece count had for Story Mode (compared to Leg…
- Warbeasts expansion released! - 19 July 2025
Warbeasts is a free expansion via patch (V 1.4.0.0), and as such, it should be available to everyone who owns The Demon Rush: Legends Corrupt. The Warbeasts expansion adds a lot of new content -- the new playable character Allisara, the new summoning mechanic Warbeasts, the Counterintelligence and Summoner's Onslaught gameplay modes, a new world and story arc for Story Mode (with story-heavy main quests and side quests, as well as a new endgame superdungeon and new endgame Challenges), 5 new Side Stories, and new Conquest monsters. Caesara also gets a small Soul Triad rework (2 "Defense + 5%" nodes become 1 "Defense + 10%" node and 1 "Rebound Bonus" node), and Cook's Prison Break ability can be used once per schedule section (as opposed to just 3 times per Prison Break). The remaining 2 expansions are also getting name changes -- the next expansion will be "Nanowish" (formerly "Forlorn Fu…

- Counterintelligence preview infodump - 25 April 2025
Counterintelligence is a new Strategy Mode that will release with the Warbeasts expansion. Counterintelligence will require the player to select a nation leader, soldier type, religion and ruling approach, and to make use of their military, economy, spies and alliances to either defeat every nation or own the most territory after 10 years (every turn is 1 month). Over the course of a Counterintelligence game, the player will need to invade and conquer enemy territories, defend their borders, create a strong economy for themselves, use spies to infiltrate and sabotage enemy territories, get married and have a child (if able), and ultimately, kill the leaders of the opposing nations (which can include killing them through direct combat, sending spies to assassinate them, poisoning the wine at a dinner you invite them to, or killing them at their wedding). The specifics mentioned for the r…

The information below is for the upcoming currently unreleased Warbeasts expansion, but is meant to provide further details about Allisara and the Warbeasts. What is included here is subject to change as testing and balancing continue, but is added here to provide context for what can be expected. Allisara Name: Allisara Luka Tilandrei XII DOB: October 29, 1897 (story takes place in 1919) Element: Water Weapon: Quarterstaff Playstyle: Evasive/Area Control Maximum Stats (through Soul Triad only, no weapons) HP - 100 Attack - 20 Defense - 0% Combat Movement - 50% Flow Allisara's dodges are unique compared to the rest of the cast. These Flow Clouds can be used for a variety of purposes -- for Flowspike to turn Flow…
- Warbeasts expansion preview - 25 April 2025
The Warbeasts expansion is currently in the middle of testing and balancing, and a preview video for it is available on YouTube here. Like previous preview videos, this preview covers the biggest additions that will be added with the Playstation 4 and PC versions of the Warbeasts expansion, with the primary additions of the expansion as follows: A new 11th playable character, Allisara, a psychic princess with a focus on evasion and area control, will be playable in all modes. A new summoning mechanic, Warbeasts, will be available for Story Mode and Endless Dungeon. Warbeasts are summon monsters that are unique to each playable character. A new Strategy Mode, Counterintelligence, will have the player utilize their nation's military, economy, espionage and alliances to deal with multiple nations run by other playable characters. A new Action Mode, Summoner's Onslaught, is a duplicate of O…
- Warbeasts expansion update 2 - 20 October 2024
The last couple months of work on the Warbeasts expansion has gone smoothly and the work itself has been completed within the time objective. Usually the Law of Game Design is to take the time expected for a task and double it for the actual time needed to finish something, but this was surprisingly on time -- I am especially grateful for this, since the models needed for this expansion were both numerous and had a number of models that went outside of standard humanshape models. After completing the remaining textures and animation work, the programming for the Warbeasts expansion is next. The next update should hopefully be the preview video for the Warbeasts expansion (assuming work stays on course), which I hope to have show off more about the new character, the new summoning mechanic, the new Counterintelligence mode, and more.
- Warbeasts expansion update - 15 August 2024
Work on the Warbeasts expansion has been going smoothly. The story content data (cutscenes, NPC dialogue, travelling between maps -- this is for both Story Mode and Side Stories) has been completed, with its total size in terms of event pieces (things like messages, movement, playing music, animating a character, fading a screen, and so on) being similar in size to the Tenebris expansion. With the story content data completed, the 5 new upcoming Side Stories for Warbeasts can be revealed: Character Side Story Name Stevant Anxiety Overflowing Joe Can't Go Home Again Kaez The Meaning Of Life Fleming The Discovery I Made Green Tossed Aside Work on models, maps and music is next, and I'm hoping to get those done in a reasonable amount of time.
- Into The Past expansion released! - 14 June 2024
As Into The Past is a free expansion via patch (V 1.3.0.0), it should be available to everyone who owns The Demon Rush: Legends Corrupt. Into The Past adds 3 new gameplay modes -- Side Stories (short stories where the player plays as protagonists, antagonists and side characters), RopeRange (aerial shooting range where the player must swing around the arena on a rope) and Prison Break (a party of 3 must break out of a high security prison or face execution in a week). A preview video also accompanies the release of Into The Past, though the way work had to go on this expansion prevented the preview video from being able to be completed earlier. The preview video for the Into The Past expansion can be found on YouTube here. Work on the 4th expansion "Warbeasts" will begin immediately, and will aim to bring a new character, a new Strategy mode (Counterintelligence), a new summoning mechan…
- Into The Past expansion patch - 14 June 2024
New Story Mode "Side Stories" added (short stories where the player plays as protagonists, antagonists and side characters). New Action Mode "RopeRange" added (acrobatic shooting range that takes place in the air). New Adventure Mode "Prison Break" added (party of 3 tries to escape from a high security prison). Miscellaneous changes and fixes.
- Into The Past expansion update - 6 October 2023
Work on the Into The Past expansion has been going very smoothly so far -- models, maps, music and story content for all 20 Side Stories have been completed. This leaves essentially the programming and testing for the 3 new modes (Side Stories, RopeRange, Prison Break) as the remaining tasks for the expansion work. The hope is to get a preview video for the new expansion out when testing has progressed far enough, similar to the one that the Tenebris expansion had. Since enough details have been worked out for the 3 new modes through their current preparation, some early details can be provided for each mode. Side Stories will start with 20 stories, with plans to add more each expansion -- not as much as Into The Past has per future expansion, but enough are planned to still notably boost the eventual final number of Side Stories overall. The Side Stories will have the player playing as…
- The Tenebris expansion has arrived! - 1 August 2023
As Tenebris is a free expansion delivered via patch (V. 1.2.0.0), it should now be available to everyone who currently owns The Demon Rush: Legends Corrupt. Most of these additions are also listed in the "Tenebris" small update/patch notes announcement. It's a pretty hefty expansion, too -- it brings the new playable character Caesara, the new Naval Conquest gameplay mode, a new story arc (that contains a new world, new main quest, new side quests, new superdungeon, new endgame Challenges, new weapons/passives), the Wild Nova ability for Barklord, and gameplay additions for Endless Dungeon, Conquest and Heist. Work on the next expansion, Into The Past, will begin immediately. Into The Past intends to add 3 gameplay modes -- Side Stories, RopeRange and Prison Break. As it is intended to be a shorter expansion, it should hopefully have a faster development time than Tenebris did.
- Tenebris - 1 August 2023
The new playable character, Caesara The new Adventure Mode, Naval Conquest A new world on Story Mode, which includes a new main quest story arc, story-heavy side quests (with new passive abilities as rewards for playable characters and the Wild Nova ability for Barklord), a super dungeon, and more endgame Challenges A 9th weapon for all characters in Story Mode and Endless Dungeon Pantheon Priests and Crazy Arena as new features for Endless Dungeon New recruitable monsters for Conquest New Heist Artifact, False Saint's Blade Brooks' Aim Mode is zoomed out more Miscellaneous changes and fixes.
- Tenebris expansion preview infodump - 10 April 2023
Caesara Name: Caesara DOB: April 10, 1890 (story takes place in 1919) Element: Fire Weapon: Sword and Shield, Claw Hands Playstyle: Stance Change/Damage-over-time Maximum Stats (through Soul Triad only, no weapons) HP - 200 Attack - 40 Defense - 50% Combat Movement - 0% Stances -- Full Plate and Claw Hands Caesara has 2 different stances -- a defensive status ailment-oriented Full Plate stance, and an aggressive damage-oriented Claw Hands stance. Caesara can use her Prayer to Ferromant ability (5 seconds cooldown) to switch between stances and gain a 5 second aura associated with her new stance. Caesara's Full Plate stance gives her nothing unique, but while the Full Plate aura is active, Caesara takes half damage from all attacks and regenerates 4 HP per second. Caesara's Claw Hands stance allows her to deal double damage with all attacks and she gains Combat Movement + 100%, but she l…
