I can't make good progress with the Enhanced version yet due to various problems. For the first prequel (TH1), all the areas of Pikedale have been completed, which is quite a big deal, since a large part of the game takes place there. I've already deleted some of the smaller areas from the Neverwinter mod because they're not important, but I still need nearly 240, which is about 50 more than the Steam version of TH. To quantify, Pikedale is about 60 areas, and I had about 20 already, so it's coming along. The most problematic was 1 week, which is a pretty bad split time unfortunately. If all 240 areas took 1 week each, the game would never be finished, especially as there are other things to do. Building the area means that it is structurally complete, with textures, lights, paths are passable, important objects are in place, but will need further iteration later. In the second round, I…

A bit of sad news about the Enhanced version, but not enough to make us feel like the end of the world. I've been working on it for years, the game has gone through several editor changes, and as Unity 2023 hasn't been updated since April, a few months ago I decided to try the impossible and rebuild my game on the latest tech system I've developed. The system in question works in both Newcomer Gold and the TH sequel, and you should know that it has a completely different structure compared to TH. After a few months of hard, sluggish work, I finally realized that, although it is not impossible in theory, it would take so much time that it was not really worth my while. I updated the editor to the 2022 LTS. There are some visible improvements on some points, even loading is probably faster, but the editor itself is still quite rough on one or two points. This is most noticeable when making the build. Based on the problems I encountered, I first thought this version was completely unusable, as it crashes with a bunch of red errors, but after some internet research I found out that it is possible to work around the glitch. For now, I'll just update the demo version. Previous save games are no longer compatible, and since I had to touch the whole system in a lot of different points, there might be some disturbances. I also revamped the Encounters to speed things up. In previous versions, if you entered an area, each encounter executed and created its own opponents. This resulted in slower loading of areas as there were more creatures on the field. In the…

Some news: I'm trying to finish my card game, it's under test after some hiatus. I replaced the backgrounds and also the portraits of protogonists to AI generated images. From now on I will frequently use AI generated imagery waiting for an even more advanced tech that makes it possible to create 3D models in the same way. NVIDA is working on one, but it's not public yet. Fingers crossed...
