  • June 2026 Devlog - 21 July 2026

June was all about building on the big systems I introduced in May and adding even more strategic depth to the game. I’ve also been busy polishing the multiplayer experience and stomping out a lot of bugs. Here’s the rundown!Introducing: Tank Upgrades & Passives!I'm happy to announce that the tank upgrade system has been implemented! Players now be able to improve tanks and customize them to fit the planned strategy:Camouflage Net: Reduces tank visibility by 20%.Extra Health: Adds 17% more max health. (Note: Cannot be used together with Overdrive)Fire Extinguisher: Removes the fire debuff after one tick.Overdrive: When tank HP is lower than 20%, increases reload speed and max movement speed by 25%. (Note: Cannot be used together with Extra Health)Reinforced Tracks: Reduces the risk of the tank getting immobilized due to track damage, but slightly reduces top speed. (Note: Cannot be used…

  • May 2026 Devlog - 6 July 2026

These devlogs come out later and later! But no worries, June devlog will follow shortly after this :)May was a massive month for Panzer Vor, and I'm excited to share all the progress I've made. I’ve been focused on some huge foundational systems that bring the game closer to the vision I've always had for it. Steam Lobbies are Here! One of my biggest goals this month was to make playing with friends as easy as possible. To that end, I’ve integrated the Steamworks API directly into the game. You can now create and join lobbies directly through Steam! This is a huge step forward for the game's multiplayer experience. Minimap & Vision SystemThis month, I built the brand-new minimap and vision system from the ground up. This was a huge undertaking, but it's a critical part of the feedback that I got last month.A fully functional minimap is now rendered on the UI canvas.I've implemented a "Fo…

  • April 2026 Devlog - 11 May 2026

This month was all about play testing and implementing feedback and adjustments. Closed play test on DiscordThe play tests mid-April were done with selected group in Panzer Vor Discord server and revealed several issues regarding the tanks and their respective roles. Since then parameters were adjusted, the first TD (SU-76) was added, and I decided to designate a passive for each tank type:Light tanks refund 50% of buying cost after destroyed.Medium tanks upgrade to the next evolution (e.g. Pz. III to Pz. IV or M4 Sherman to Firefly) and restore 50% or health 5 mins after being deployed.Heavy tanks start passive health regeneration when out of combat for more than 20s.Super heavy tanks cannot be immobilized.Tank destroyers do not get revealed after shooting. These changes should make purchases units more valuable and add strategizing for each use case, plus I can add more significant me…

  • March 2026 Devlog - 13 April 2026

Welcome to another devlog! March was all about finalizing the abilities and fixing a lot of multiplayer bugs in preparation for the April playtests. While I haven't been able to ensure all abilities are working properly in multiplayer yet, I am using some time in April to get it ready before the first closed playtest on April 18th. If you would like to participate in future playtests, please join the official Panzer Vor Discord (link is at the end of the article).Let's get to the most important updates!AbilitiesThe following abilities were implemented for each commander. While these are finalized for the playtests, they may still change before the public playtest or the game release.Minor architecture shiftWhile remaining with the same architecture where game systems get dependency injected, I have switched to the DI framework VContainer. This significantly simplifies the dependency inj…

  • February 2026 Devlog - 9 March 2026

Welcome to the second entry in the series of Panzer Vor devlogs! In this post I will cover all major updates to the game that were done in February.Last month I focused on getting the game to a stable condition, removing most of the bugs that were present mostly in the multiplayer mode. I also worked on figuring out a couple of annoying issues that would fall under the 'quality of life' umbrella. There were also some major optimizations, allowing you to run the game on any potato: Russet, Yukon, Red - you name it!Multiplayer overviewPanzer Vor is built on a multiplayer stack that allows you to connect to the central server or host a game yourself. This means that some machines are servers/hosts and some are clients. The systems are split between some that are required to run on a dedicated server and some that are only required if you are actually playing the game. This way I can have a…

  • January 2026 Devlog - 9 February 2026

Welcome to the first devlog for Panzer Vor! I am happy to say that the game is now playable and contains almost all the basic mechanics. In these devlogs, I will be diving into the details of the current state of development to demonstrate how the mechanics are evolving. I will also share technical details regarding the implementation process.Today, I’ll cover all the updates from January, and I hope to continue providing monthly updates like this moving forward.Weather SystemThe main feature I worked in January is implementing the Weather System. It is one of the essential mechanics that impacts gameplay and forces players of both teams to adapt to the changing environment. Each map has a set of certain weather conditions that can apply. The starting condition is always mild - either a clear sunny weather, light snow or rain. When one of the teams reaches 500 points, it is considered a…
