• Typed'82 TTS Update - 1 July 2021

  Hello everyone! The text to speech update is out! It took me a bit longer than expected. The sound of the first iteration was close to a robot and not too natural. So I’ve researched a bit and used an engine with a neural model to produce the words and sentences. However, I did not find a perfect way to slow down the voice for longer sentences. But I continue to test out more ideas. So, the text to speech mode works better in the Words-Mode rather than in Sentence-Mode. All three languages are supported. American English, German and a Spanish American version so far. It’s not a super easy feature to support, even on slower systems. Let me know how it feels and works for you folks. Also, several more minor fixes made it into the update too. Mostly spelling issues and broken commands. So, what’s next? I’m regularly changing keyboards. • Development Update - 26 May 2021

  Hi folks! I hope you are all doing well! So I want to share an early development update of a new feature for TYPED'82. It's basically a dictate function that will read the words loud out for you. It works well with the Words mode and can keep up with faster typing speeds. However, the Sentence mode is a whole different story. It will read the full sentence for you, but it is fast and not easy to keep up with. The challenge is to have the dictate speed follow more or less the typing speed. At the moment, there is a basic pitch slider to slow down, but I'm still working out a more intuitive way. An early access version of the feature should come to the beta channel in the next few days if everything goes to plan. There is still a bit of testing to be done. Until then - stay safe!

  Coding This mode lets you practice source code in various programming languages or even your source code files if you like. The evaluation starts with your first keystroke and ends with the last. By default, the auto-indent function is active. This function will add tab/space characters at the beginning of an indented line of code. You can disable the feature via the sidebar menu. In general, this mode will help you practice writing with many special characters, like brackets, punctuation and other programming related operants. Place your source code files in "%userprofile%/Appdata/LocalLow/Beardman Studios/Typed 82/CustomCode". Extend the file names with ".txt" (like my_code.c.txt). The mode will select a random file from the directory every time. • Typed'82 Update - 7 April 2021

  Hi folks! I hope you're doing all well. Thanks so much again for playing and supporting Typed'82. I'm really happy about the feedback and progress over the last weeks. So, the new update is out on the beta channel and should arrive on the stable channel soonish. Anti Aliasing, a new option in the settings screen. You can change it to your likes. It should help with the GPU load on high resolutions. The default setting is currently at 4xAA. Flawless Achievments There is a bug that the flawless achievements are triggered properly but not acknowledged by Steam. A typo on my side caused this. Version 1.0.5 addresses this issue and will scan through your save game and should trigger the achievement synchronisation.   Hi folks! I hope you're doing all well. Thanks so much for playing and supporting Typed'82 in the last weeks. I've created an update for the game and want to share some details of the update with you. Rain, a subtle shader applied to the background that hopefully gives some feeling of rain crawling down the window. It can be quite present in bright background colours but very subtle for dark ones. It has been in the works for a while now, and I hope you like it. Just visit the background colour menu from the settings screen. OldSchoolMode, a quite changing shader that will introduce some visual downgrade to the game. The fonts and other elements will look very low res. This mode is actually just an update since it was available in previous versions too.
