• Version 2.0 Update - 3 September 2021

  Today we’ve released a special “Retro First Friday” update for MicroProse™ Soccer with Version 2.0! Both the DOS and C64 versions of the game are now playable in the same package! The game now starts in a launcher which allows selection between the two game versions. The launcher also features save state functionality for the C64 version, as well as links to the game’s original documentation and the Ziggurat Quickstart Guide. 2021 © Ziggurat Interactive, Inc. • Microprose™ Soccer Updated to include C64 Version - 3 September 2021

  Ziggurat is thrilled to announce that we've updated the classic Microprose™ Soccer to now include the much-beloved Commodore 64 version of the game. In addition to the previously available DOS version of Microprose™ Soccer, players can now select between DOS and C64 through a new launcher that can boot either version. The launcher also includes handy new features such as: Game documentation including our quick start guide (for DOS) and a scan of the original manual Save slot functionality for the C64 version New 'quick load' feature which will allow players to skip the emulation of the original C64 version and jump straight into the game. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1544740

• Patch 1.01 - 17 March 2021

  This patch corrects some folder and file names given in the Quick Start guide in the game's install folder. It also updates the game so that exiting the game closes DOSBox instead of exiting to the DOS prompt.

• 1988's MicroProse Soccer hits Steam - 9 March 2021

  1988's MicroProse Soccer is now on Steam . MicroProse Soccer was developed by Sensible Software and is the forerunner to the UK studio's hugely influential 16-bit classic Sensible Soccer. The original version launched on the Commodore 64, but it was ported to a myriad of systems, including the Amiga, Amstrad, Atari ST, MS-DOS, and ZX Spectrum. MicroProse Soccer was notable for simulating a full 11-a-side game of football with a top-down view, and included a simple control scheme that revolved around tapping or holding down the fire button for passes and shots. You could push diagonally to curl the ball - an after-touch feature that would go on to be used in Sensible Soccer. Read more
