• Big update in 2024 - 20 November 2023

  Guds fred soldat i ledet! A big update for GBOCXII is set to be released in 2024. In this update, the battlefield grid has been changed from hexagon-based to square-based to allow for more aesthetically pleasing and correct formations. Attacking and movement have also been altered to consume varying amounts of access points (AP) depending on the terrain, such as roads, forests, and hills. In addition, a variety of new uniforms for officers, drummers, pipers, Russian streltsy, and more have been added. All these new units, along with the existing ones, are now positioned in more historically accurate formations. Multiple hours of background music have also been added. Important note: There is a bug that causes freezing in the current version of the game on Steam. • New map and new features - 30 October 2021

  Greetings soldier! We have now released a new update with new features and bug fixes. This update, among other things, adds a new map (Fraustadt), a "next unit" button and a new victory screen with statistics. The update also introduces a new character selection menu. This menu lets the player choose which character he wants to be. 𝕲𝖗𝖆𝖓𝖉𝕸𝖎𝖓𝖎 𝕾𝖙𝖚𝖉𝖎𝖔𝖘 can also today proudly present the goals for the coming year 2022: More historical maps/battles from the Great Northern War 1700-1709 will be added in the upcoming updates. We want the maps to be varied and the game to reflect the entire Carolean campaign. Sometime in the future, we want all battles with significant historical weight to be in the game. • New graphics setting - 3 August 2021

  Hello everyone! This update adds the option for the player to set their preferred graphics level in a drop-down menu. Lowering the graphics from high to medium will result in much better performance for players running the game with worse specifications. • Cheat menu - 23 July 2021

  Hello everyone! This update adds a cheat menu that can be accessed from the main menu. Complete changelog: A cheat menu that allows the player to skip missions has been added. The settings menu can now be accessed during battle. Bug fixes. The volume setting will now be saved every time you exit the settings menu. • Performance update - 13 July 2021

  Hello everyone! I have now released another update to the game. If you find any bugs or incorrect information I would greatly appreciate it if you report it to me. Here is a changelog for this update: The performance of the 3D models has been improved. You should now experience better fps in the battles. A loading menu is now displayed when loading a new battle. The minimap can now be configured to show the whole map. Good luck on the battlefield!

• New map and more - 24 June 2021

  Hello everyone! I have now released an update to improve the user experience and to add new features to the game. If you find any bugs or incorrect information in the game I would greatly appreciate it if you report it to me. Here is a changelog for this update: New battle - Pühhajoggi Pass. The campaign menu has been updated with a historical map of the Great Northern War of 1700-1709. A list of historical battles in chronological order has also been added to help the user understand where they are in the war. From now on all the battles need to be played in chronological order. (I might implement a cheat function in a future update to make it possible to skip battles that you have already done before this update was released). A minimap has been added to all battles. • Camera update - 9 June 2021

  Hello everyone! I have now updated the camera to make the game feel more smooth. I have decided that the player should always be able to choose where they want to be in the map.
