• After 3 years, Apolune 2: Endgame VCS Update - 28 May 2025

  It was sometime in 2022 when we promised you'd be able to buy a pub in the game. Well, as of today, on the VCS and on Steam, you can buy a pub, deli, broadcast tower, corporate office and hotel! Oh, and you can PAUSE now. Yeah, really. It was desired, and, we caved. Major rebalancing makes the game more fun with more pathways to more chaos. New pricing, new "smart item drops" from the Trader. New "red" hatchling alien focuses mainly on biting YOU! There are a bunch of new items! Spoilers below. New items: - Arcade cabinet - Armor plating - Robocannon - Gold brick - PUB contract fully working - Robo-wrench repair automation Yes, it works on the STEAM DECK. and it still supports up to 8 players! • Steam Deck OLED Support Release - 26 November 2023

  Even though we've seen it running on the Steam Deck, until I bought one myself, I didn't know that Apolune 2 fails to launch on the Steam Deck OLED. This should be corrected now, since we've removed the Linux version from the Steam Store. While the Linux version has been out for at least as long as the Windows version, it never worked fully. Linux savvy users were able to run the game by running it in the console, outside of the Steam launcher. I have been waiting for a very, very long time for YoyoGames to deal with this issue, and they have never gotten back to me despite numerous attempts to address the issue. When the Steam Deck detects a Linux version, it will circumvent the Windows version and attempt to run the native Linux version. In the case of Apolune 2, for whatever reason, it failed to start, probably due to the issues with the Linux version. So, we have removed it, since i…

  A big thanks to our newest QA tester, David, who confirms he and his girlfriend enjoyed Apolune 2 using the Steam Deck. David said: "A video game is such an enormous labor of love and time, one that most who start never complete. How could I not support you? What's more, your game looks genuinely very cool, and the art style is super attractive! I'm looking forward to racking up some hours and I'll be happy to leave a strong review!" When asked about the Steam Deck experience, David wrote: "Everything seems to work great on the deck! Perfect environment for the game! If you have an interest in adding French I'd be happy to do the translation work for you. For free, of course!"   TL;DR Adding a help screen After @SpaceGameJunkie decided to upchuck his morning brew all over this game in a 12 minute hangry review video (described by one of the game's die hard fans as the work of a "bellend") we added a help screen available by pressing F1, ESCAPE or Backspace, along with the "Menu", "Fuji", "Back" or "Start" buttons on many common controllers including modern Windows-compatible X-box controllers.   In late 2020 this game emerged as a solicited pitch for the Atari VCS. But, woe and behold, Atari took 16 months to get back to me so this game was first released here on Steam. • Linux Version Updated - 4 May 2021

  Been having issues with people reporting that SteamOS / SteamApp won't start the application, but that it will run in the console. I've been updating the Linux version every few days when new information is provided by testers or by digging through YoyoGames website. This latest version was built on a "physical" Ubuntu 18.04 desktop. Previous versions had been built using a VirtualBox. Not sure why this is any different, but it is the only one YoyoGames will support. Please let us know if it is or is not working properly if you use Linux / Ubuntu / SteamOS.
