A (now out-of-print) fantasy novel from the 1990s called Villains by Necessity by Eve Forward was a source of inspiration, too!-Which consoles will it be on?PC/Mac for now! We were just featured in our last showcase of the year, BEST Indie Games Winter Showcase 2025! We're so grateful to have had a spot in so many events this year, and hope you enjoyed tuning in!We have also updated the demo! It's nothing too major, but the overworld challenges of the full game have been added, as well as an updated map. - INDIE Live Expo 11.29.25 & Localization Update! - 29 November 2025
Saveseeker was one of the chosen titles featured in this month’s INDIE Live Expo Winter Showcase! This was the first international showcase that Saveseeker has been a part of, and it was a huge honor to participate. Likewise, today’s update is regarding our plans for localization. Reflecting our inclusion in this Japanese showcase, we are planning to ship the full game in English and Japanese. We are highly interested in translations for other languages, as well. While we can’t make any official announcements yet, we are currently exploring possibilities. We want to bring Saveseeker to story-driven RPG lovers around the world, and high quality translation that can hold the emotion and humor of the script is essential. Saveseeker was just featured in the Main Show of this year’s Winter OTK Games Expo! It was an honor to be selected after a review of our demo. Here’s what’s new in the demo: Xbox controller support has been added! It’s functioning as expected for PC. For Mac, we are working on a bug where the controller doesn't work if you plug it in during gameplay, but otherwise it should be functioning the same as PC. After releasing our demo during Indie Fan Fest, Saveseeker is participating in this fall's Steam Next Fest! It's quite seasonally appropriate, considering Chapter 1: The Badwoods takes place in an autumnal forest. Thank you to everyone who’s checked out the demo and shared your enjoyment and feedback! Thank you to everyone who checked out Saveseeker during #TurnBasedThursdayFest! We’re finishing with nearly 1000 new wishlists and are so thrilled to see more people discovering and getting excited about the game.Now, a development update regarding where we’re at, the upcoming demo, and the release plans:The critical path is complete and tested! This includes all of the cutscenes and story relevant events, meaning as of now the game is playable from start to finish.We are currently working on the “combat pass” where we rigorously test the battles. This event is the perfect opportunity to reveal the basics of Saveseeker's turn-based combat system, which you'll be able to experience yourself in the upcoming demo featuring Chapter 1: The Badwoods. Learn all about Emmer and Tipple's abilities in battles and how they work alongside the abilities of ex-bosses you will recruit on your adventure! Emmer Edette—The Time Tweaker Emmer begins her quest with a simple set of combat options: attacking with her trusty slingshot, using an item, or fleeing the encounter. Her slingshot can be upgraded throughout her adventure or given special effects with ammo you can purchase in shops. Saveseeker is joining Cozy Quest 2024! For the event, our artists and composer will be sharing some of their work on the game with a special focus on the wintery chapter, Mt. Starpath.
