Hi Oddworld fans. We're pushing live another update today that does the following: 1. Adds a few new higher poly models from Munch's Oddysee HD, namely the Big Bro Slig. 2. Offers higher-quality pre-rendered cut-scenes. 3. Fixes the instances where the camera would look at the wrong thing during real-time cut-scenes. - Six Years Later, Developers Fix Munch s Oddysee Port - 27 July 2016
You know that saying better late than never? It’s an odd one, especially when you’ve kinda forgotten about a thing and then suddenly one day the developers are like, “Oh, remember that port of that game we released six years ago that wasn’t so good? Yeah, we’re fixing that now.” That’s exactly what’s happening with Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee The farty platformer kinda stank (and not in a fun way) when ported to PC back in 2010 but has now received a new port aimed at fixing most of its problems. …
- Six years later, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is no longer a broken port - 25 July 2016
Turn that frown upside-down! Oddworld: Munch s Oddysee first received a PC port way back in 2010, and has since troubled sorry purchasers with a variety of game-breaking bugs some can t even get it to start. Fixes were promised right after release, and nearly six years later, they re finally here. The developers built an entirely new port that's been on the Steam beta branch since February , and after five months it's finally taken over the main branch. An update was pushed to Munch s Oddysee on July 24th, the specific details of which are vague, but according to a post on the Oddysee Steam news page , include multiple fixes and some 'HD' assets including higher resolution character models. The update also includes Steam trading cards if they're your thing. Personally, I'd just sell a few collecting dust in your inventory to scrounge up some change, because to encourage players to give…

- Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee is getting a new port - 25 February 2016
Originally a launch title for the first Xbox, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee has been on Steam since 2010. While it's probably little more than an interesting keepsake in the Oddworld series, the PC version is reportedly a very shoddy port . A quick scan of the Steam reviews paints a pretty grim picture: apparently for some users the game just doesn't work, with frequent crashes and other game breaking bugs reported. So it'll come as a relief for those who purchased the game that a brand new port is releasing on Steam. The news was announced earlier this week on the game's Steam page, and best of all, it'll be free for anyone who owns the original version. "Rest assured we are committed to ensuring that all Oddworld fans get the experience they rightly deserve with our games," the announcement reads . "We will ensure that this version of Munch's Oddysee is fully supported and any bugs that a…

- Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HD coming to PS3 & Vita in Q2, Abe HD in the works - 16 January 2012
With the HD remake of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath out of the way, developer Just Add Water can put the finishing touches on its next Oddworld game: Munch's Oddysee HD. Yes, it's another HD remake for PS3 and Vita--but you can expect it in the not-too-distant future. The developer recently tweeted that we can expect it in Q2, or just a few months from now. PC gamers who have been playing the Oddbox can expect the HD updates later this year as well. "Both will come to PC," the developer reconfirmed . In spite of being an Xbox launch exclusive, Microsoft apparently is not interested in having either of JAW's HD remakes on the Xbox 360. "Nothing is exclusive from Oddworld," the developer tweeted . "However MS do not want either game currently." The developer previously pointed to Xbox Live Arcade size limits as one of the restrictions preventing the game from receiving Microsoft's approval.…
- Little Big Bunch bundles for charity - 14 December 2011
The various Humble Bundles have gained attention for offering PC games to support charity and indie developers, but the idea is spreading. The Little Big Bunch now offers a pay-what-you-want set of five PC titles to benefit GamesAid, a UK children's charity. Distribution is being handled by GetGames. The bundle includes DRM-free versions of Explodemon , Frozen Synapse , and Munch's Oddysee , a Steamworks version of Serious Sam Double D , and New Star Soccer 5 . The default amount starts at $10 with a 50/50 split between the charity and developers, but you can give as much as $100 or as little as free, if you're cheap. The site notes that there will be a small processing fee as well. You can grab the games for yourself on the Little Big Bunch site. GamesAid primarily helps UK-based children's charities, with some support given to foreign charities for education, housing, health, and soci…
- Good Grief: Yet Another Indie Bundle - 7 December 2011
Today I feel like the Sisyphus of games blogging. “You believe you have completed your trial of posting about a pay what you want indie games bundle, mortal? You fool. For now you must immediately post about another one! Ahahahahahaha. Yes, there are worse circles of hell to be in, but I trust you’ll agree this one is slightly annoying.” Oh well, c’est la news-vie, non? LittleBigBunch – due next week – ups the charity factor, as it’s orchestrated by sterling industry philanthropists GamesAid . And it’s got some pretty cracking contents. Frozen Synapse ! Explodemon ! Serious Sam Double D ! Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee! New Star Soccer 5 ! (more…)
