- New artwork and announcement! - 14 April 2026
Hi everyone. I just wanted to give a quick update. I commissioned some new beautiful artwork for the game you can see right now! Isn't it cute?As for the announcement - I want to finish this game one way or another. I'm currently working on another game and would like to finish that first. But I've been thinking about how I can finish this game...Right now, the game is very open-ended and ends suddenly. It's incomplete and I think it lacks some clear direction. Maybe that's normal for these kinds of games. People want the freedom to just relax and chill on their farm. But I'd rather have something smaller and more concise that's actually finished than something big, sprawling and incomplete. I think players just want a neat, unique experience that touches them in some way. A big scope doesn't necessarily do that any better than something smaller...So, I may make some big and bold change…
- Dec 1 - bug fix - 1 December 2025
Fixed a bug that was causing the Farm to load slowly if you have a lot of tilled tiles.
- October 8: New Beta Branch Build - 8 October 2025
Hey everyone,I've released a new build on the beta branch just in case you want to check it out. I don't want to put it on the main branch yet because there's a sale going on and I don't want to wreck any new players' saves. The new build doesn't have any groundbreaking features or anything like that. Mostly it's cosmetic changes.I had spent some time improving the tileset graphics a while ago and I improved the water graphics (except for the beach / ocean water). The tileset and water look a lot better IMO so I wanted to get this change out. Also I played around with some of the UI graphics so things will look a bit different there as well.I deleted the endless mines because it has become clear that I can't handle that amount of scope increase. The performance was bad (thanks to Unity and dynamic lighting apparently) and there isn't a point to having it in the game right now since it doe…
- Jan 24 Patch - 24 January 2025
Shipping container revenue was not being affected by talents (sorry about that!) Added some better looking assets I found for the factory yard area. Spores should no longer say "spring" in their tooltip. Increased delay between tool swings. I think it feels about right now.
- Jan 23 Patch - 23 January 2025
Fishing should give appropriate quality levels now depending on your fishing skill Some small performance optimizations
- Jan 16 Patch - 16 January 2025
Placing a barn or coop should no longer cost gold, just subtract the deed. It was costing money for the deed and then costing the same amount to place the building.
- Jan 15 patch notes - 15 January 2025
Fix missing image for barn in buy building UI Changed (improved?) mail UI Added new song for evenings Added some potential mails from Fleur when past 2 hearts with her Removed coal and asparagus&tomato from bulletin board requests
- Patch notes Jan 13 - 13 January 2025
Fixed bug with old furnace showing up in crafting menu Fixed bug with missing factory sprite (how does this even happen?)
- Jan 7 Patch Notes - 7 January 2025
-Bug fix to prevent infinite placement of barns / coops. -Bug fix to prevent infinite placement of farmers market bins -Ability to sell Barns & Coops via the sign (only available when the building is fully constructed) -Some language options added. NOTE: The language options are available but are not functional in a lot of areas. I only added this because I thought it might be useful to some people so why not make it available even if it's not working well in many areas. Basically I started doing localization and realized it's a harder problem than I imagined. The fonts needed to change and a different font entirely is needed for certain languages such as Chinese, Korean, and Japanese. So that's why the font looks different in this update. Although, I couldn't get the font to update in some places such as response options for Chinese. And I didn't localize many things such as quests. Fo…
- Version 0.8.9b - 27 November 2024
Pushing to the main branch now - Cooking improvements - you are allowed to have 1 oven per house and better ovens are available from Bob's store when you upgrade your house. Ovens cook food but it now takes time. You can queue up more items if you get a better oven. The value of meals has gone up to reflect the time it takes to make - so if a recipe takes 2 beets to make it should sell for more than the value of selling 2 beets. I'm considering adding quality levels to meals - any thoughts on that? I'd like to make the refrigerator behave as a container for the oven recipes but that's for another update unfortunately. I currently am debating some of the ingredients that you just buy from Melody - I'd like to make the recipes a little simpler by removing those cheap ingredients you can simply buy in bulk from the store. Removed fishing minigame - it's now just click and collect. The time…
- Nov 11 v0.8.9 - 12 November 2024
Hi everyone. I've been working on an update and I've decided to push it to the beta branch since it will break current saves. I will continue working on it for a couple weeks until I push it to the default branch. There is no new story in this release but quite a few changes: New type of mines available. You can mine through walls in any direction (practically endlessly). I will be improving the random generation going forward. Hopefully I can add rivers and pits soon so it feels more alive and adventurous but I think it's already pretty neat as it is. Let me know what you think. New equip system - you can equip armor and trinkets on your character. I added a few simple sets of armor for now and a trinket that provides some lighting in the mines. Also, you can optionally equip swords and they will show up in the toolbar so you don't have to arrange your inventory. There's a new hotkey t…
- October 12 Patch Notes - 12 October 2024
version 0.8.8.9d Farmer's Market Bins are now available to craft at Farming Level 13. Grass performance improved and spawn rate reduced. Grass now has 1 sprite instead of 3 overlapping sprites. It looks slightly less cool but it shouldn't tank your framerate anymore if there's a lot of grass. Improved Sprinkler performance - should be less or no lag spike when sprinklers go off. Slightly improved sprinkler particle effect. Crows no longer spawn at all if there is a Scarecrow nearby. Fix for placing torches and lanterns - cannot overlap them anymore.
- October 9 Patch Notes - 10 October 2024
Important fix for the Marsh scene crashing the game after a few seconds. Fixed game crashing when in the Marsh Fixed bug that was preventing the 2nd ability to be learned Fixed bug with crows repeatedly flying away Fixed issue with combat quests in the Marsh
- Version 0.8.8.9b - 22 September 2024
Fixed bug with NPC daily dialogues not resetting Fixed bug with From Dusk 'til Dawn talent not starting up Added ability to turn Tiki Torches on & off It should be safe to update if you're already on 0.8.8.9
- Version 0.8.8.9 - 20 September 2024
If you want to preserve your save file do not update! Hey everyone, I have published the latest changes to the default branch now. This release includes some big changes so your old save files will not be compatible with this version. There is no new story added to this release. Mainly, the changes include a new more dynamic farm layout, some new coloring features for your buildings, a Farmer's Market mechanic that's just starting out, lighting system improvements, jumping, and a lot of bug fixes. Some last minute changes: Added a drop down option in the settings to shorten or lengthen the day. The dropdown includes 5 options - shorter, short, medium, long, and longer. If you've played the game before, the setting would have been on 'short'. Halved the inventory size - the player inventory was comically huge. I want players to use crates to some extent. Thanks for the feedback. Iron min…
- Melody of Seasons v0.8.8.8 - 16 September 2024
Version 0.8.8.8 Hi everyone, I just pushed this new version to the beta branch. If anyone can help test it that'd be great. There are some big changes with respect to the lighting system and more. I will keep this update on the beta branch for a few days as I test it more and maybe add some new things, then push it to the default branch. Old saves will not be compatible with this version so you will have to start new. Changes in this update: Added the ability to change the colors of your house, barns, and coops by using the sign on the front of the building. Converted project to a new render pipeline that allows for some better lighting going forward. This should make it possible to add shadows and have better looking water eventually. Lots of other bug fixes and improvements. A couple new lanterns you can craft. Length of days increased from 12 minutes to 20 minutes. I was going to add…
- Version 0.8.8.7 - 6 September 2024
New to the beta branch Many changes, the biggest ones: New Farmer's Market Bin item you can craft and place on the farm at level 15 Farming. Once you've placed it on your farm, you can place items inside in order to make them available for sale to visitors. You can enable visitors by using the sign at the entrance to your farm. Visitors will come and browse your goods, and buy one item (if there is one available). These items sell for approximately double the shipped price. The rate of visitors is determined by your farm's prestige. You can use the sign to view your farm prestige. Currently it's based on number of barns, coops, livestock, and paths. I hope to expand on this whole visitor system going forward. Farm visitors will try to follow paths you have on the farm. The farm got a slight makeover - the tillable area is more dynamic and not just a simple rectangle. A new bigger pond i…
- version 0.8.8.6 - 28 August 2024
Beta branch only! You can jump now, probably created some bugs but it's fun. You can't jump over cliffs, just debris and little things on the ground including fences and some other objects. Please let me know if you jump through something that you don't think you should be able to or if you'd like to be able to jump over something but can't. Cafe improvements. Working on bringing the cafe to life with a mini management game where you can sell your crops for extra profit. For now, guests will come in and have drinks and leave, more to come soon. Most foods and drinks should give health as well as energy. Fixed a bug with clicking on barns and coop doors wouldn't work properly. Some graphical improvements.
- Version 0.8.8.5 - 25 August 2024
*** Beta branch only *** Fixed Bulletin board quests. Added descriptions to vendor items specifically to see seed grow times and revenue potential. Fix Bird Baths - can place them now Some chances to the pickaxe to make it more friendly and less likely to accidently pickaxe things - still needs more work. Tweaks to some crop values and growth days. Solar Panels take a lot longer to produce batteries now. Auto Petter crafting recipe available at farming level 33 now. Probably some other stuff I'm forgetting. If you want to test out these changes early and don't care too much about potentially losing your data. You can switch to the beta branch. How to switch branches: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2195453967 tl;dr Basically, just right click on the game in your Steam library, properties, betas, choose beta branch in the beta participation drop down.
- Aug 19 - 20 August 2024
*** Beta branch only *** Added quick switching for the hoe tool and fishing pole! (Right click to switch to the tool when hovering over a valid spot) Added a white outline to what I call "free objects" in the game like a certain other farming game has. It makes it easier to see loot and stuff on the ground. Slightly improved ingot graphics and fully grown mushroom sprites from the marsh garden.
