• Unexpected sudden support - 17 August 2022

  As a result of taking the game down. Apparently someone or several people. Decided to buy the game yesterday. Unfortunately it is likely too late since I have already contacted steam. Thank you very much. Had it been done a little earlier I might just have been able to keep the game up (for some months at least). Since these purchases were made recently. Whoever bought the game yesterday can ask steam for a refund (please do - I am unlikely to receive the money anyway). If whoever did this unexpected supportive act reads this. Please write in the comments. And I will try to ask for steam to reverse it. Usually this is not possible after having taken it down though. Thanks for the kind acts

• OWF will be taken down - 16 August 2022

  Due to having no players for a year and continuous monthly servers costs. The game can no longer be sustained. As a result of being a student I can't keep it up continuously without new players. Which it has barely had any of, at all, over 1 years time. Thank you for showing interest in the game. This is not the end of it. But the app will be taken down because of the upkeep being unsustainable. I would love to keep it up. But it doesn't work out for at least 1 year to come with the current non-existant player base. The goal is to have it back up on steam in 1-3 years. Thanks for the wishlists & purchases. If you are one of the few who have purchased the game. Try asking steam for a refund Thank you

  In this most recent update you will find three new views when you login. The purpose of this update is to make things a bit more intuitive & easier to understand. These views can be hidden and/or closed. So if you feel you don't need them. You can close them or hide them. Tutorials As per some feedback. I understand it has been hard for some to understand: how things work, what can be done & what is occurring. Therefore I have spent time doing my best to help guide new players with more information that is easy to follow. On the right-hand side of the window.   New animal: Lizard With this update you will find a new animal. Besides the currently existing Rat & Viper. You will now find Lizards. Lizards are unique in the way that they both search for plants. And they have the unique quirk of disliking technology. If you place any sort of technology outside of your base. It's bound to regularly be attacked by nearby Lizards and get destroyed. Plants now spread their disease Plants have previously been prone to getting disease. However, they will now also spread to nearby plants rather rapidly. So growing plants will need to be supervised & in smaller areas. Or your are likely to have to replant them all-over again. Temperature improved Previously the temperature would vary over different areas in the world. But remain the same forever in a single area. • AttackBots, GuardBot & Plantgenetics (4.0.3) - 20 March 2022

  I have purposely waited longer than expected with this update. I found myself focusing on solving a lot of issues, bugs & improving performance in general. I wanted to have a big update which also introduces features which gives it more gameplay elements. Even if no one else is online. So that new players still have a purpose if no one is yet online & are more challenged. Mainly there have been performance improvements on the client & server. A new terrain algorithm have been developed to make a more natural shape of the ground. There have been LOTS of bugfixes & much more testing done. Many things which prevented gameplay before have been fixed. Furthermore there are THREE new bigger features. These are: Attack bots, Guard bots & Plant genetics.   Fixes, improvements and additions: Fix: Automatic access to deathbox Improved: Fonts were not clear before. This will be fixed with next upload. New: Popup-message displayed when dying Improved: Simpler AccessInteractionMenu New: Added popup-message when blueprint drops Bugfix: Snake would keep hitting Player when entering a different world area.. Bugfix: Snake would keep hitting Player until death, regardless of position, if player quickly relogged. Fix: Snake animation wouldn't update when snake stopped after following player. Currently working on an update that will add some more difficulty and hopefully more excitement. This is expected anytime before the end of the year.

  Bugfix: Some GPU drivers got blackscreen previously due to error in shader. Improved: Movement works better (Mostly noticeable in US/Canada) Improved: Server ping Bugfix: Only 1 clothing item worn was displayed before the fix Bugfix: Animals disappeared between different worldareas before the fix. Fix: Entities didn't regenerate after an area was depeleted New: Highly letal snakes get higher health with each kill. New: Animals walk more naturally and have better paths to their targets. New: Snakes not only attacks players anymore, but also other animals. Bugfix: Animals won't walk indefinitely if they don't find a path to their target. Optimization: Server now uses RAM less frequently which slightly improves movement smoothness.

• Update 2.5.6.A: Important bugfix - 19 June 2021

  Bugfixes / improvements Permanent blackscreen fixed Furthermore increased FPS caused by improved filepackaging + cpu priority A few players, who had played for extended periods of time, had occurences of blackscreen. This blackscreen would remain for those who got it. This is now fixed and was caused by case-sensitivity. Two images had been named incorrectly in terms of uppercase letters. Besides that; FPS should increase significantly and be more stable as a result of better packaging of game files. So the last FPS update should further improved with this update.

• Update 2.5.5.A - Framerate improvement - 17 June 2021

  This is a small update to help bring in, and keep new players. This update increases the FPS between 50 - 85% (for low-end computers). Guides are now also visible during night without light. Between 50 - 85% increased FPS. Views/Guides are unaffected by night-time now. Since vsync is turned on by default. This will only affect players with framerates previously below 60fps.

• Patch for Animals - 12 June 2021

  A player brought up the fact that animals hadn't been working as expected recently. In the development for Open World Foreva, the aim is to solve these sort of bugs promptly; before adding new material. After many hours of debugging and finding several problems. Animals now should work as expected. With reservation for any minor bugs which are not apparent yet(if so). A single snake will attack every few minutes, and rats do the same but target plants. So if you grow plants watch out for rats(if you grow them openly). This frequency will be increased again during the week. The world has been reset aswell. To allow removing old imperfections with terrain and animals. More updates will come within the coming 2 months. Have a nice day :)

• Small improvement - 28 May 2021

  The recent update was for improving the readability of the basic "Helpguide", which you can find in your in-game inventory. It should be easier for new players to understand the basics of the game now. More & larger updates will be coming within 30 days.
