- Lake Cheko Added to Bike Route, New UI Design for Tunguska 2! - 22 September 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters! After hearing some feedback, I decided to add Lake Cheko to the motorcycle's accessible routes, mostly to accommodate the assassination quests which requires frequent visits there. The motorcycle will take you near the tugboat entrance. After reaching the tugboat you can pay a small fee with Alexei to fast travel to the swamp village where Haruko is, which I think is a good enough tradeoff since it doesn't make sense to ride a motorcycle in a muddy swamp...Now, let's talk about my new progress with Tunguska 2! For the past couple of weeks I created the 3D templates for the inventory/journal/detectors UI, and I think they look pretty fantastic with the dark industrial theme. Have a look below :)I'll now work on converting the template models into sprites and add to the game. I'll see you again soon with new updates :)Inventory:Journal/Contracts: Note/books, tutorial/r…

- Fixed several French translation errors in the UI (Thanks to Gex!) - Fixed a few scripting bug in the Ravenwood quests - Added a cheat code to remove stale to-do list tasks: "task complete #". This # is a number which is the ID for the task, specified in the database. - All seasonal events will be automatically turned on based on system date. Winter: Dec 12 - Feb 12 Spring: Mar 13 - Apr 27 Summer: May 20 - Aug 15 Autumn: Sep 1 - Dec 1 The seasonal event date matters to the date when you start a new game. - Tunguska 2: Whitefall Dev Update - 24 July 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters! It’s been a while since my last update - hope you’re all still enjoying the summer! This past month I put on my writer’s hat and focused almost entirely on story. I’ve finished dialogues for the 11 essential characters added so far, along with detailed scripts for roughly 20 quests. That’s only about half of what I planned for the demo… which feels a little ambitious, I know. But I believe every one of them is necessary to deliver a proper, satisfying Act 1 - complete with a strong opening and a real sense of closure, even in a demo.Story Sneak PeekSpeaking of the story, here’s a little more background from recent developments: after a particular event (known as the "Singularity") during Tunguska 1’s timeline, the Zone was no longer the same. The once-profitable serums became nearly useless outside the Zone, and the ingredients also grew scarce. Overnight, most Ghoul…
- Happy Summer! - 7 June 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters!Happy summer! We are gonna revisit our little tradition every since 2023 - a summer "Labor Day BBQ" celebration hosted by the American tourists in Ravenwood! If it's event is new to you: while in-game, it'll start on the 10th day and run for 5 days. Then it'll come back again after 10 more days. You pay 500 rubles to eat for 24 hours, but you must bring raw meats to the fridge to keep the cooked meats coming! Also, I'll be away for about 2.5 weeks, since I haven't taken my family on a trip for... 10 years, the exact time it took to develop Tunguska: The Visitation till this day. But I guess 10 years of inventory management training does pay off ːsteamhappyːI'll be checking the forum as often as I can while away, so if you have any question/issues to report, please feel free to post and I'll address them to my best ability. Hope you enjoy the BBQ and I'll see you soon :)

The invisible walls blocking you from entering the tall grass will now push you back, acting like an anomaly 2. Once you interact with the Rock and let it teleport you to the level entrance, all the invisible walls will be taken down and you'll be free to roam around the level and loot the bodies in the grassy areas. - Fixed a rare occasion bug that disables a level portal if you happen to load a save game where your character touches it - Fixed the button colliders in the main menu scene for some languages

- Tunguska 2 Progress Update; DLC Giveway Day 1! - 10 May 2026
The Vanguard OutpostIt's been a while since I wrote another devlog on the progress of Tunguska 2: Whitefall! During this past months I was building out the beginning quests in the Vanguard Outpost, where you'll start off the game as a guard amidst a faction crisis. Here you can see the undecorated Vanguard Outpost sitting south of Iskraprom, the Vanguard Headquarters:And I think I must have some issues, because somehow I spent a lot of effort building the bathroom xDNew Weapon Durability SystemWhile designing the quests, I came up with the idea of a more in-depth weapon durability system for Tunguska 2, so I quickly coded it up and revamped the weapons database. Basically, instead of having just a "Durability" that dictates the gun's performance, there are now four pieces of the puzzle:Maintenance (cleanliness, sharpness etc.)Weapon part 1 (Barrel for guns, Edge for melee)Weapon part 2…
- Update 1.97-5 Patch Notes - 7 May 2026
This patch fixes the collider and appearance of two weapons affected by the polygon reduction patch: PPSh-41 and SR-3 Viktor.
- Performance Improvement Update - 26 April 2026
I have recently figured out a way to reduce polygon count for NPC characters without affecting the skinned mesh. Knowing that there have been reports of FPS drop around places with a lot of NPCs, I spent a week adjusting the mesh most of the NPCs, as well as certain vehicles and weapons to reduce polygon count. Average NPC's poly count has been reduced from 13000 to about 2200. If you have been noticing FPS drop, please let me know if there is any improvement after this update :)Also, this update also includes an adjustment of the "spinning swing" with two-handed weapons, so that the actual moment of swing aligns with player's direction better.Enjoy!
- Melee Combat Improvement Released! + Other QoL Fixes - 11 April 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters,Thank you all for helping me testing the melee control beta! A lot of valuable feedback was received and I made additional improvements accordingly. So here's the summary of melee fixes included in this build (1.97-3):With Hybrid control scheme, when you pull out melee weapon, you can click/hold LMB for the sweep/roundhouse swing. The yellow arrow shows which direction your swing will be. In this state, you are able to rotate the camera by simply moving the mouse left/right.Hold RMB to enter "aim mode", and click/hold LMB for the downward swing. In this state, you can rotate camera the same way you do while aiming a gun.The spirit of this new control style is to match melee with gunplay for the Hybrid control scheme, so that in both situations, you can walk around/look around with the mouse and hold RMB to enter a "precision mode".Tutorials have been updated accordin…
- New Melee Controls Beta Test; & Need Your Input! - 10 April 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters,Great to see you again! First of all, thank you all for your warm, kind words of encouragement! I'm dedicated to making this game as good as I can, and as accessible as I can. Therefore I have decided to address another one of the elephants in the room: melee controls.New Melee Controls Beta Ever since the day the game was released, "the melee doesn't feel good" was one of the most common complaints. I used to take walks around the neighborhood, thinking long and hard about how to address this, but could never figure out a scheme that would preserve the 4 strike styles AND easy camera rotation. That is until now - when one of the fans gave me an idea on how to make it work! And I have just implemented it in the game :) So, much thanks to you my friend :)However, this new scheme does change the melee controls for Hybrid mode, and those who are already used to the old…
- Quality of Life Update - 6 April 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters,Hope you had a great Easter weekend and you found all of the easter eggs in the game :)I'm releasing this Quality of Life update to address a recurring complaint from players: too much backtracking and walking around. The game has recently received a lot of emotionally charged negative reviews which left me scratching my head: what did I do wrong? After some reflection, it seems like there is some disconnect between my vision of the game and players looking for a quick adrenaline rush. To be honest, I grew up with old school games where nothing was handed to me on a platter. One wrong decision means restarting the whole level, and without proper preparation, planning, and critical thinking, I would be running in circles for hours until I figure out the hidden mechanics, and it was always a great feeling when I did. Therefore I incorporate the same design philosophy in…
- Tunguska 2: Whitefall Dev Progress Update - 2 April 2026
Hello everyone,Hope you are doing great! It's been a while since I updated you on the dev progress of Tunguska 2: Whitefall. In the past several weeks I went through a quite stressful medical situation with both myself and my family, but I'm happy that things are getting better now. I still managed to make some progress. I was revamping the save game system to accommodate the transition from normal game world to the Whitefall state, which involves a lot of tricky state updates and preserving the right data, and the coding logic behind all this was a mess to figure out. I also built a set of underground cellars for the rural map, which needs a lot of them so that you can easily find shelters to survive the Whitefall transition.I'm also happy to say that I have finally finished writing the main story and was quite satisfied with it - multiple endings, early hooks, big decisions, emotional…
- Free Spring/Easter Event Starting Now! - 14 March 2026
Hello Ghoul Hunters,Hope you are enjoying the Spring! We are now ready for the annual Easter Event - collect all 20 Easter Eggs and unlock a new weapon! Half of these eggs are scattered across the maps, and the other half can be collected from killing ravens. Bring them all to Father Romanoff and see what he offers you in return!Don't wait - the event ends on April 27!Good luck :)
- Update 1.97 Patch Notes - 22 February 2026
- Revamped the crosshair expand/shrink motion when player is swinging the gun, moving, or going into ADS. It is now more intuitive and more synchronized with the gun's Handling stats. - For the Sound of Music DLC, redesigned the music loading logic so that it no longer preloads all the songs into memory, which can be problematic for low-RAM situations, especially Steam Deck. This change reduced memory usage by almost half in my testing environment.
- Update 1.96-9 Patch Notes - 11 February 2026
Fixed a bug that makes items in the pockets disappear when removing armor and then closing the inventoryFixed a bug with certain items's "shadow" (which shows when a container is open that's unrelated to this item) is not placed correctly over the itemMove the airdrop looter spawning point in Ravenwood Valleys so that the looters don't spawn outside the navigation areaFixed the visibility of dead bodies so that they aren't more visible than player who's standing up. This should improve situations where the player strangles an NPC without being seen, but then as soon as the NPC dies, someone comes to investigate.During the potato farm quest for Sidor, in normal non-hardcore mode, the Bootlegger backup will not come if you strangle the Legionnaires. This way they don't come and ruin your stealth flow.
- One More Week Left for Coal-smas! Tunguska 2 Update: New Monolith Dropped! - 7 February 2026
Dear Ghoul Hunters,Hope you are having a great 2026 so far! This is a gentle reminder that the 12 Days of Coal-smas winter event is set to end in less than a week! Make sure to complete the Christmas quest for Larry from Ravenwood, and get the unique weapons, available only now! Also, I'm very excited to introduce the last of the three Monolithic Manifestations I have created for the demo of Tunguska 2 :) This one was a big challenge for me, and it took me two weeks to design and implement it. Let's meet the "Cyclone"! It's a flat, disc-shaped rocky structure floating in low-mid air. Quite harmless when not provoked - it just slowly wander around an area, spinning quietly. However, whenever there is some kind of heat source - a campfire, shots from firearms, or even the heat from other Monoliths, will draw its attention like a tropical storm. Once it's near the heat source, or have direc…
- Update 1.96-7 Patch Notes - 2 February 2026
This build has fixed the issues seen from 1.96-6, and added one more convenience feature: you can also insert ammo into a gun while it's in the backpack. Thank you everyone for your patience and help!
