• Week 08: Visual Update & DevLog - 17 March 2023

Visual Update There has been quite a few assets in the game that were never intended to be final game assets, but rather just placeholders. It was long overdue to replace them. More importantly, the level generator for the Desolate Forest has been updated. It can now generate deeper forests and there is generally a wider variety of both layouts and colors. The position of each biome is the same every run, but how they look like exactly is still random. This way it will be possible to memorize the map to some degree. New background image for the menu. New Strike FX for Halberd, Short Blade & Executioners Axe. New Projectile FX for Arbalest. https://steam.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com/week08%2Fnew_arbalest.gif Other Changes Most enemies now get a temporary speed boost when spawning, making the early game a bit more fast paced. This was already implemented long ago, but didn't activate due t…

• Week 06: Divine Arts - 3 March 2023

New Weapon: Holy Nova https://steam.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com/week06%2Fholy_nova.gif Holy Nova is a new common spell weapon. It has a moderately low cooldown and hits the whole screen from level 1, requiring no area size upgrades at all. It is very flexible and can be built as a crit-based screen clear, a burn or shock weapon, or a utility knockback. Complete Skill Tree Overhaul The complete skill tree has been overhauled. Major nodes are now sprinkled throughout the tree and give greater bonuses than the minor ones. Entire tree has been reorganized and is now bigger than ever before. Overleveling is now a intentional part of the trees design. It is unlocked by getting the "Growth & Rebirth" node at the end of the tree. Late game cost scaling is now tiered instead of scaling linearly. The tiers are as follows: 250 essence after 30 upgrades, 400 essence after 50 upgrades, 750 essence a…

• Week 04: Chrysalis Gem - 16 February 2023

New Trinket: Chrysalis Gem The Chrysalis Gem has been added to the game. It is a rare trinket that, once it reaches Level 5, allows you to pick from a few high rarity upgrades, even for weapons that already have reached max level. It also gives bonues to two new stats: - Magic Find: Increases your odds of finding Rare, Epic, Unique and Legendary upgrades. - Compass Range: Increases the range at which the indicators at the edge of the screen can see items and orbs. The trinket can be found in the north of the map after unlocking it by upgrading the Dragon Soul to level 4 at least once. Other changes - Added a epic "Burst" upgrade to the halberd that adds two strikes to the Halberd at the cost of Cooldown. - Level 5/10 Rosary now also gives a minor 10% Size Growth bonus to the few items that do have this stat. - Fixed a typo in the Armory Extension Pressure formula that caused it to grow…

• Reenable Overleveling - 11 February 2023

  - Overleveling has been reenabled. Overleveling means that when you reach the last row of the tree it wraps around and you can level skills at the beginning of the tree a second time. - Fixed a bug that "Universal Rage" upgrade from the Twin Blades could be picked multiple times. - Fixed a bug that Life Steal would no longer work.

• Week 03: Status Effect Update - 10 February 2023

Shocked - Lightning Rain https://steam.fra1.digitaloceanspaces.com/week03%2Flightning_rain_2.gif Lightning Rain has been added to the game. It is the first weapon of the Spell archetype. Spells have long cooldowns and thus aren't as reliable in terms of DPS, but are otherwise quite powerful and have easier access to powerful status effects. To unlock it, travel east after upgrading the Twin Blades to at least Level 8 in a prior run. Lightning Rain applies Shock with every hit. Shock is a soft-stun, enemies hit by shock can neither accelerate nor deal contact damage. Shock duration stacks, so hitting the same enemy with multiple shocks will keep it shocked for longer. Lightning Rain also has a legendary upgrade that can be used as either screen clear or burst damage against tanks/bosses. However this update also introduces a "decaying CC resistance" mechanic, every time an enemy is hit b…

• Week 2: Collection Screen & Executioners Axe - 3 February 2023

Executioners Axe The Executioners Axe has received a slight rework as well as a legendary upgrade. Legendary upgrades are extremely powerful but also very rare. You can't depend on getting a legendary upgrade, but if you happen to find one it can really spice up your build. Bleed deals a max health percentage damage over 3 seconds. It is very good for killing bosses and other high HP enemies, but too slow to be effective against smaller foes. The legendary upgrade also gives life leech on the bleed portion of the attack and as such can really turn the tide of battle against bosses. Collections Screen You can now access a Collections screen in the Armory. It will show you exactly what weapons & trinkets you have unlocked, and which you still need to find. Other Changes "Looming Death (Lvl. 1)" has been renamed to "Brutal Difficulty". Brutal Difficulty: Now has a additional +100% Boss Hea…

• Achievements - 27 January 2023

  - Added Achievements Yes, that's all.

• Game Release - Early Access Week 1 - 27 January 2023

The game is now in Early Access! Thank you to everyone who played the demo! New Difficulty Level The First Difficulty Level has been added to the game. It can be unlocked by beating the currently only stage. Higher difficulty levels increase the amount of essence gained exponentially and are intended to really push the game to it's limits. More difficulty levels will be added over time to ensure that each is balanced and an enjoyable challenge. Minor Skill Tree Overhaul The cost of skills now gradually increases with each picked upgrade. This ensures that going deeper into the tree and potentially specializing is more beneficial, rather than just filling it row by row. Skills have been rearranged to ensure more meaningful choices, and of course, unlike the demo the full skill tree is now available. Returning Blades The Returning Blades are a short range projectile weapon that does not s…
