  • Version 1.3.0: The Story of Plip - 4 April 2022

Hail and well met, tournament fans! I am very excited to announce the release of a new major update for Tourney: v1.3! This update includes a brand new scenario called "The story of Plip". It begins with a small RPG preamble in which you control squire Plip as he prepares for his first tournament. Then, depending on your actions in this section, you will then be able to play through one of 2 alternative narrative scenarios - which one you get is determined by your actions in the RPG! There are a bunch of extra goodies in this release to compliment RPG story section and scenarios, so here is a complete run down: Story of Plip micro-RPG and 2 scenario endings Additional music tracks for the RPG section A new grand statue decoration building 3 new achievements This release is the first major content release for this year, but work on the next update will get underway shortly. If you want t…

Some "under the hood" fixes which improve overall stability and logging Thank you all for your feedback, reviews, criticism and suggestions. The new Year is approaching, so I'd like to wish everyone happiness and success in the coming year.

  • Version 1.1.23 - 12 November 2021

Tourney has been live for a week! The reaction so far has been great. I’ve been busy in the background, which you might have noticed if you saw the game updating itself quite a lot! It’s now on version 1.1.23 Part of the work has been on the next update which I’m calling the “Creative Bundle” If you are interested in what will be in it - and what’s on the roadmap for Tourney, I have made a public board on Trello here where you can see that! https://trello.com/b/awbRyFXI/tourney-milestones Otherwise - mostly those little updates have contained fixes for errors that people have been getting in the game. It took me aback that despite all of the alpha and beta testing that was done - there were still a fair few bugs in there! However the good news is that there are now almost no errors coming in & the game is much more stable. You’ll be able to see that the frequency of minor updates will b…

  • Version 1.1.8 - 8 November 2021

Hey everyone! Work continues on the game. As ever, thank you for all the great feedback which has been really useful. Just an update for those who might be wondering: The game is now on v1.1.8, all of the new versions since 1.1.0 have been logging tweaks, or fixes for edge case issues that people have been finding - to try and get the game 100% super solid. A larger update with something fun will be incoming, hopefully in a few weeks :) 'til next time!

  • Version 1.1.0 - 6 November 2021

Hail and well met, one and all! Wow - It's been a very busy day and a half since launch. Thanks to everyone for the feedback, it's been much appreciated and given me plenty to do!! :) A new update has just gone live. here's what's in it: New feature: Restart level option in the pause menu. * Changed: UI tweak on knight upgrade menu, reduced opacity on the disabled arrow Fixed: If a visitor was approaching a stand, and it was sold, they would still think it was there Fixed: Game breaking error if going to Castle day 2 or finale level, when at the end of the previous day an event was underway Fixed: Background error was happening in the last level if a guard post was placed in a certain position near the ramp Fixed: A few other tiny issues & typos in the translations 'til next time!! * Unforunately the restart level button will not work if you load up a save game that was created prior to…

  • Version 1.0.2 - 1 November 2021

Hallo! Few days left to launch, here is a digest since the last update! The only feature that is new since the last update is a button to speed up time was added around a week ago! (Probably the most requested feature) Other than this there have been a couple of minor updates with small fixes in: Fixed: When there are 2 different event venues, only the winner from one event would get the trophy above their heads Fixed: If you had opened the game before the home reset camera button was added - the view would not move at all Fixed: Soft lock in the last level was possible if a knight was pushed outside the tournament area Fixed: Capped framerate in main menu, story screens & credits to avoid fps going crazy Fixed: Going between levels with a knight that had levelled up, you could not do the level up in the new level until they had earned some xp Fixed: When alt tabbed, the screen would sc…

  • Version 0.2.16 - 29 October 2021

Egad: Coming up to live launch day. There’s another chunky beta update, and here’s what’s in it… Added: Before when a knight won a tournament they would just wander off with no notification, and it was easy to miss. It’s now much more of a big deal. When a knight wins there is now a fanfare & burst of confetti. A gold notification pops up to inform you that there has been a winner & who it is. Then for a short while, knight will have a shiny trophy over their heads, and whilst it is there they’ll strut proudly about and nearby visitors all cheer and applaud them. Changed: You can alt tab out of the fullscreen game and it runs in the background Fixed: xp gained value was showing in front of menus. Also xp gain now includes “xp” at the end to make it clear what that number appearing over the knight’s head means Fixed: Knight potion effects would occasionally spawn in a strange place Fixed…

  • Version 0.2.13 - One week (and a bit) to go! - 27 October 2021

Well hello there! There is just over one week left before the game goes live!!! There is a spooky new beta update, which includes a few amendments and minor fixes that have been requested from testing. And the version number is especially terrifying - in honour of the upcoming spoopmas. Added: Reset camera button*, (default: home) which resets the camera rotation & zoom Added: Holding middle mouse button allows you to drag the camera around Added: All staff and robbers now have randomly generated names visible in their menus Added: Sound effect for people throwing tomatoes at a prisoner in the stocks Changed: All levels now start with the camera rotated to 45 degrees like other orthographic style games, rather than straight on Changed: Close buttons on all menus are brighter to make them more obvious Changed: Camera will not move if the objective menu is showing Changed: Reduced opacity…

  • Version 0.2.10 - 22 October 2021

Hello! Version 0.2.10 is released! With thanks again to all the beta testers. all of the feedback has been extremely useful! The last update was for 0.2.6 - so there have been a few version changes, but I thought it would be better to provide an occasional digest when something of note happens - rather than spam you with updates about tiny fixes! :) - Change: Joust minigame changed so that opposition knights select mood if it is high, rather than low. This is to make it consistent with the melee minigame - Change: A lot of player knights seemed to be getting killed in the second level due to a lack of surgeon. So to help, when a house knight's health drops very low for the first time when the player has not built a surgeon, the squire will popup with a reminder to build one. - Fixed issue: on the melee minigame a draw would sometimes be incorrectly reported on the results popup - Fixed…

  • Version 0.2.6 - Minor fixes - 17 October 2021

Hello friends, Small update to let you know (for those testing in beta) there has been a minor update to version 0.2.6 which includes various fixes including a couple of big ones that were causing soft locks, and a mission not firing. There is also some balancing and mission rewording to make the game more clear about some things that some people were reporting having trouble with. ALSO! Some fun new sound effects, including a quite grisly one where the knights are being noisily stabbed by the surgeon to "heal" them. Thank you all for your support!
