- B.I.O.T.A.: A New Jump - 18 April 2023
Hey everyone! Today's patch brings only one change, however, we have a feeling it will be a deal-breaker feature! Since Jumping is one of the core mechanics in platformer games, we've dedicated last few patches to this specific mechanic. This time, we're completely revamping the way normal jump works. Previously, when jumping from the floor the characters always jumped to the same height, no matter how long the player was pressing the JUMP button. Now, we're going full platformer style. The jump's strength, or height rather, depends on how long the player keeps the button down. This translates to more controllable and precise jumps. Make sure to let us know about this feature! As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! See you in the next one! small bros. and Retrovibe
- The Wall, The Jump and The Shot - 28 February 2023
Hey everyone! Today we have a rather light patch featuring two quality-of-life changes. Firstly, you are now able to shoot whlie being attached to a wall during any phase of the wall-sticking (fixed position, slide, wal jump etc,! Secondly, you are now able to stick to the wall both when jumping and when falling. In previous versions the character could stick to the wall only during active phase of jumping. The only situation when the wall sticking is bypassed is when the player presses “DOWN” command to detach from wall, and when character slide off the wall (having the same effect as manual detachment) As always, if you like our game, please leave a review, and let us know what you think on the Steam forums or our official Discord server! - Verified Walljumpers - 10 February 2023
Hey everyone! We’ve got some exciting news for you! First of all, B.I.O.T.A. has been officially VERIFIED for the Steam Deck! It runs great, so if you own a Deck, make sure to try it out! Let’s now move onto the game’s update. And it is something we’ve been hearing from the players since launch. More specifically - wall jumping. Some users experienced difficulties in wall jumping to the right and left and often the character fell off the wall before being able to jump, the command to detach the character from the wall has been changed: now to get off the walls the control is a more intuitive and safe "down" and no more "left/right" New billboards have been added in the prologue stage, to introduce this new feature. Also by popular demand the audio glitch of the first cutscene has been fixed and the decibels at that point are now in line with the rest of the game's volume. As always, if…
- Optimal optimization - 13 January 2023
Hey everyone! Welcome in 2023! We’re starting a new year with a performance update right off the bat. This update brings a brand new feature to B.I.O.T.A. - Performance Mode. Performance Mode makes it possible to run the game or increase performance even on old machines, low specs machines, or machines without a dedicated GPU. So if you've been experiencing input lag and/or fps drops, enable Performance Mode to increase the performance a lot. For techie guys, how does it work? In normal mode, the game draws the frames based on the final resolution. E.g. If you run the game in full screen and screen resolution is 1080p, so the system draws the frame at 1080p, this allows a more precise object positioning when objects coordinates aren't integer. In Performance Mode the canvas is drawn in native resolution, and then enlarged to screen/window resolution when the frame is already rendered, t…

- C.R.E.A.T.U.R.E.S. have invaded B.I.O.T.A.! - 25 October 2022
Hey everyone, B.I.O.T.A. took inspiration from many cult classic sci-fi and horror movies from the 1980s. It’s only natural that they also influence our first Halloween special in-game event! There are two major franchises revolving around little mischievous creatures enjoying human-flavored treats (small bros preferred Critters but no judgment here). These furry and blood-thirsty monsters have invaded B.I.O.T.A. this Halloween. The best way to deal with them? Blast them into chunky, meaty pieces! While the C.R.E.A.T.U.R.E.S. Halloween special event is active, you’ll find these new enemies scattered throughout the game, regardless if you start a new playthrough or return to an old save. What might make the job easier is a new playable character - a bounty hunter named No Face. He brings his poker-no-face, a huge cannon, and a special remote controller that detonates chain explosions in…

- New game feature: Palette Auto-mode - 12 May 2022
Hey everyone! We’ve just released a patch to version 1.0.23 of B.I.O.T.A. This time we’ve got one, highly requested feature, and some balance improvements for Zeed. Let’s start with the main course - Palette Auto-mode. Due to popular demand from players, we’ve added a new color palette setting. With auto-mode on, the game will automatically change the color palette when entering a new zone, choosing from a set of 2-4 most suitable palettes for that specific level. Now let’s move on to Zeed. To put it simply, his main weapon felt too overpowered. We’ve tunned that down a bit to bring him in line with other Gemini II Squad members. We’re constantly going through your feedback and encourage you to share your impressions and recommend us to your friends. We’re also grateful for every Steam review as they help us get in front of more players and keep us going! Thanks for checking in, and see…

Markers for key cards and viridium containers have been added to the map (dot-shaped markers) This change should account for better navigation throughout the game. Windowed mode was…
