- v1.0.4 Update - Ultra Performance Optimization - 29 January 2026
Intro A new round of performance optimization with significant results. Due to the significant changes, there may be some oversights. If you encounter any suspected bugs, please report them to me. Update Notes Bullet Optimization Benefiting from long-term experience patching up the project's performance, found a new optimization approach. Completely rewrote the underlying bullet collision logic: Abandoned the Unity engine's traditional collider detection, using a new detection method instead. This will significantly reduce the performance cost of bullets, improving late-game performance issues at the source. Additionally, changed collision detection frequency from fixed physics frames (0.02s) to synchronize with render frames. Therefore, at high frame rates, bullet collision precision will significantly improve, ensuring bullets never again pass through targets or fail to register hits.…
- v1.0.3 Update - Performance Optimization - 27 January 2026
Intro Since version 1.0, the increase in player power has brought higher performance pressure to the late game, especially with the Destroyer Reflex build. I have been paying close attention to related performance issues and will continue to release new performance optimization solutions. After this update, lag issues in the late game should be significantly improved. Update Notes Overview In the last version, a performance optimization mechanism was updated: When the number of projectiles on screen reaches a certain amount, newly generated projectiles of all types will be merged. However, its effectiveness was limited. The optimization was unstable, and it affected visual performance and game feel even when the game was not lagging. Therefore, in this update, it has been reworked into a series of new optimization mechanisms. This aims to significantly reduce performance costs in the la…
- v1.0.2 Update - Pet Filters & Performance Optimization - 25 January 2026
Update Notes Added Pet Filters in the Pet interface: After enabling filters, all pets in the inventory and shop matching the filter will be highlighted. Added Matching and Non-matching batch selection options in the Recycle Pets interface. Changed the gamepad hotkey for rerolling the Pet Shop to X to avoid conflict with the filter button. Performance Optimization: Now, when the number of projectiles on screen reaches a certain amount, newly generated projectiles of all types will be merged. Fixed an issue where multiple overlapping sound effects would trigger when returning to the previous menu. Community Your suggestions and feedback are quite valuable to me. Please feel free to share them via Steam or Discord. I'd love to hear from you! Geometry Arena 2 Discord
- v1.0.1 Update - Pet Shop Super Reroll - 21 January 2026
Update Notes Fixed an issue where the achievement Ultimate Fusion triggered abnormally. Fixed an issue with the Revolver's rapid fire condition check in certain situations. Adjusted the Energy threshold for the Revolver's auto-attack from 90% to 60%. Set a maximum force limit of 450 for the upgrade Wild Shot. The D-pad no longer moves the character to avoid conflicts with Multi-level controls, and can now be used for skill hotkey settings in certain situations. Removed the random pet option in the Pet Shop and converted it into a standard pet item slot like other items. Added a new option Super Reroll to the Pet Shop: If enabled, rerolls in the Pet Shop become Super Rerolls. Each Super Reroll costs 10 Stars (or 10 Free Rerolls). Pets with high Attributes are more likely to appear. Redesigned the style and layout of the Pet Shop interface. Significantly reduced the average price of items…

- v0.8.0 Major Update - Controller & Resolution Support - 30 December 2025
Overview Geometry Arena 2 now supports controllers (including all UI and combat actions) and non-16:9 resolutions. Therefore, it now also runs properly on Steam Deck. (Please switch the controller layout to Standard Gamepad when playing on Steam Deck.) As this is my first time implementing controller and resolution support, it involved significant changes to the underlying code, and I lack sufficient testing devices. Therefore, it is difficult to guarantee that this adaptation is 100% perfect (issues may arise on certain devices or in specific language environments). If you encounter any suspected bugs, please report them to me! (By the way, implementing controller support took a lot of effort to learn Unity's New Input System and refactor the game's input framework. If any fellow developers are planning to make a game with Unity and intend to support controllers in the future, I highly…
- v0.7.4a Fix - 28 October 2025
Fixed an issue introduced in v0.7.4: the Swordmaster's rotating swords were incorrectly treated as the player's collider, causing enemies to collide with the player from a distance.
- v0.7.4 Update - Smarter Geo Assistant & Physics Optimizations - 26 October 2025
Overview The Geo Assistant just got smarter! Added new features that not only enhance the AFK farming experience but also provide assistance during active gameplay. Additionally, the game previously had a serious performance issue – in late-game high-level runs, the game would sometimes freeze for a second or two. After research, I discovered this was an issue caused by the Unity physics engine – when large objects (such as Bosses, artificial walls, arena walls, or the player character) extensively overlap with other objects due to teleportation, knockback, or artificial wall rotation, the physics calculation load for a single frame increases exponentially, leading to sudden freezes. Therefore, this version introduces targeted adjustments and optimizations, including a rewrite of the combat physics framework. Update Log Improved setting option Auto Select Upgrade: Upgrades that meet pre…
- v0.7.3 Update - The Not-So-Smart Geo Assistant - 8 October 2025
Update Log Added a series of assistance features named Geo Assistant. It can automatically attack, upgrade, go next level, and restart a run. However, it is not smart enough to use skills automatically, but you can enable certain modules to achieve a similar effect. You can prepare a dedicated build for it, watch it fight, and earn scores and pets. Adjusted the size and layout parameters for elements in the settings UI, and added a new column for Geo Assistant. New setting option Auto Go Battle: Automatically start the next level after a new run begins, or after each upgrade selection is complete. New setting option Auto Restart Run: Automatically restart a new run after a run ends. New setting option Auto Select Upgrade: Automatically select an upgrade upon entering the upgrade screen, prioritizing the upgrade type you have the most of. Excluding Endless, Special, Stats, and Construct…
