Johnny Castaway (1992)Johnny Castaway is a screensaver that was released in 1992 by Sierra On-Line/Dynamix. It takes places on a small island, with a man (Johnny) who is all alone. As time would pass, Johnny would get up to little random activities and keep himself busy. He would often go fishing, find a message in a bottle, have a nap and pretty much anything else you can think of. The screensaver is described as "the world's first story-telling screen saver".I don't think I originally saw it in 1992 though. It must have been a few years after as I didn't have a computer in my house until much later, but my best mate had it on his Dad's computer that was in his office near his workshop. HEY It has been such a long year and we wanted to thank everyone for the support they've shown us and Wood & Weather by making a Picrew! ⚡️CREATE A WOODEN TOY CHARACTER⚡️ For those of you unaware of what "Picrew" is, it's a little web-based character creator. Use it to make a wooden toy version of yourself, a friend, a weirdo, someone you wish was in the game or just anyone you can think of! A huge amount of work went into putting this together by our artist Cole and we've already seen so many fun creations already! - MIGW23 STEAM EVENT - BROADCAST - 21 September 2023
It's that time of year again. It's the Melbourne International Games Week and we're included in a really fancy Steam event! There is a wonderful selection of locally made games that are on sale, doing broadcasts and a bunch of other fun things to celebrate. Making videogames is really hard, but breaking videogames is pretty easy. It's an honest and complicated situation because the nature of this relationship is completely conflicting but mutually beneficial. It basically just comes down to the fact you can't make a game if it's broken and you can't break a game if it isn't made. So we all get left in a kind of balancing act where we can only go so far, or do so much before we need to focus back in on ourselves, make sure everything is alright and then continue forwards. Wow what a load of fun we've all had together for this latest NextFest. Lots of demos, lots of trailers and & lots of Watching Developers Play. - Steam NextFest - Developer Broadcast - 19 June 2023
We're a part of Steam's NextFest June 2023! It's really exciting for us to be along side such an exciting selection of up-coming games and demos! Obviously our demo went live with our Wholesome Direct announcement- HOWEVER! For the duration of NextFest, we'll be broadcasting a bunch of playthroughs and commentary from the developers (us)! 🔴 We recorded all of the streams in the front of our shop! The live recording of Parallels 2022 is now on YouTube! During October last year we were honored with hosting Parallels 2022 as part of Melbourne International Games Week. Parallels is an annual event which showcases a bunch of locally made games and gives developers an opportunity to talk more openly about their creative process and why they decided to make their game. Wood & Weather - Announcement Trailer! Near the end of last year we hosted a local indie games event called Parallels. It was a big deal for us and for the local games community here in Melbourne, Australia. As a bit of a surprise to everyone at the event, we thought it would be fun to show off Wood & Weather for the first time publicly to a private room of 400 people.
