- Performance & Stability Updates - 18 May 2026
The team has identified several performance and stability issues in the early access build of Samsara released on the 12th of May. Over the past few days we have deployed several patches to address both the stability of the game, to remove critical crashes, and the performance of the game to reduce CPU overhead.

Hello, everyone;We've made the difficult but necessary decision to delay the full launch of Samsara. This means we will not be releasing on Steam tomorrow, June 17th.The feedback we received during Steam Next Fest was incredibly valuable. We saw a lot of interest in the game's core hook: the reincarnation system, where death leads you to one of six avatars based on the karma of your choices. However, you also told us that the impact of your actions on your karma wasn't clear, the initial learning experience was steep and confusing, and the onboarding process needed significant work.Simply put, we agree. Our goal has always been to deliver a challenging but fair souls-like experience, and the current version doesn't properly introduce the very systems that make Samsara unique. Releasing a game that doesn't meet our own standards or your expectations, is not something we're willing to do.…
- Updates to the Steam Next Fest demo - 14 June 2025
The final update for our Steam Next Fest demo has now went live! This update includes: More and better tutorials for mechanics such as spells (Mantra & Mudra), and Vanquish (Pacify & Execute).Changes to combat, such new hit reactions, spells and rebalancing.A new loading screen with a shader precompile step, increasing initial load times on first launch but significantly helping reduced initial load issues on lower end hardware.Please note the minimum specs still apply! Steam Deck is not supported at this time. Please restart steam to receive the latest update. Remember that you can report any issues using the Bug Report button in the pause menu. Play through the entire Bardo ("intermediate state") after the moment of death: explore acts 1, 2 and 3 of the game in your quest to Escape Samsara - the endless cycle of death and rebirth into which all life is bound. Explore all four continents of Kamadhatu during Act 1, in pursuit of The Three Jewels. Find yourself thrust into the Heavens and Hells, in an expanded rebirth area, which harbours secret areas only accessible in Act 2. The World Progression Update In this update, players will be able to complete the game and experience the full cycle of Samsara. Travel through all four continents and make your way to the summit of Mt Meru, or descend below and prove your skills. Experience the third boss encounter at the end of Apragodaniya where you will meet the enigmatic Kamadhenu, the "wish-granting cow". Find new quests involving the above as well as Raksa the strangely eloquent Preta. As always we will be running a supervised playtest, if you would like to get involved, please confirm your interest by joining our Discord and requesting the Avatar Playtester role. This will provide access to the Playtester Guidance posts as they go live before the session. Dear Samsara Community, We wish to inform you that we have decided to postpone our participation in the upcoming Steam Next Fest demo. Instead, our focus will now shift to the following fest in June 2025. Consequently, the 1.0 release of Samsara has been rescheduled for 17th June 2025. This decision has been made to allow us the necessary time to further refine the demo and ensure it reflects the high level of polish that Samsara deserves. Happy spooky season Avatars! SAMSARA ☸️ is coming along nicely, and we have hit another playtest period. Jambudvipa has seen some changes since our last test session and we are excited to see how it received by our eager testers. We have adjusted level design thanks to last sprint's playtests further refining the player paths. Also, we have began implementing environmental interactables to change up gameplay and encounters. Our enemies are no longer placeholder and can finally enjoy their own skin and bones once more. And bugs! We have been squashing them as we go.
