- The Morale Update! - 12 December 2025
A new update arrives to raise the morale of all soldiers, commanders and governors! THE MORALE UPDATE! Battles are about to get much more dynamic and chaotic in this new update. We've introduced a new mechanic; Morale. Now during a battle there are different factors which affect a unit's morale such as being surrounded by enemies, taking heavy damage, being in a defensive position or another new addition to the game, being near an officer unit. Morale can have a positive or negative impact, increasing a unit's reaction time, speed and more importantly, another new mechanic; Accuracy. Units now have a chance of missing shots when under heavy stress. Another important factor is morale damage. Every unit attack carries morale damage, including melee attacks, with artillery fire dealing a lot more morale damage than others. If units get hit from flanks or rear they will receive a higher mor…
- New playable faction: England - 11 July 2025
Hello everyone! Let's talk about what we've been working on! This update was long overdue, we have finally added England as a playable faction in sandbox mode. In order to achieve this we made an entire new set of 3D models for their buildings and a lot of changes in the code in order to support multiple factions in the future, including the creation of a modular icon system. We also created new and improved icons for city building mode, a better looking unit interface when recruiting units and building ships, now you can see an image of the unit instead of their heraldry. A lot of changes and fixes under the hood were done as well, such as unifying the enemy AI for all base units in the game. -England is now a playable faction in sandbox mode -New building models for England in city building mode -New unit icons for army deployment menu -Added modular icons for units in overworld Other…

- The British are coming! - New playable faction in the works - 27 January 2025
Welcome back Governors! It has been a while and we plan to make up for lost time with new features and more consistent periodic updates from now on. To kickstart this year we are adding the British Empire as a playable faction in sandbox mode, with new residential, administrative and religious buildings, that together with the existing military units will give said faction a coherent visual aesthetic, that emphasizes the red color and white details, this will set it apart from the spanish yellow and terracota that you have come to know. Researching this update has been a lot of fun, it included looking at a lot of heritage sites and even some archaeological reconstructions. If you are a new player or a veteran beginning a new playthrough as the British, consider that this may be a difficult start, due to the numerical superiority of the enemy empires. However the geography of the Caribb…

- The City Stats Update - New gameplay mechanic - 26 April 2024
Hello Governors! In this new update we are introducing a new gameplay feature. Happiness and city stats. Now you will have to make sure that your citizens are happy by taking care of their needs: Health, security, religion and entertainment. By constructing different buildings around houses you will increase one of these stats, you have to keep your city happiness at least above half of the required number or you will face the consequences, such as an increased number of bandits in the area. You can see the stat each building will improve by taking a look at the tooltip when hovering over the construction icons. You can also see the area that is affected by selecting a building. We hope that this feature makes the city planning aspect more involved as you now will have to plan carefully where you put the different buildings. Thank you for playing the game. Until the next update, see you…

- Devblog: A year of progress - 4 May 2023
Before we look into the future development of the game, we would like to take a look at all the improvements we made last year before launching on steam. Taking the game from the earliest demo version into what it became now was a huge undertaking for us, a lot was done in order to ensure the game had enough content at launch in early access. We are already working on the next update, where we will look into increasing the frequency of enemy attacks in sandbox mode among other things. Stay tuned!
