- Editor 1.1 is here, and a word about Editor 2.0 - 28 August 2026
Hello everyone! A new update for the Dynamic Dungeons Editor is out. Along with the update details, we want to give you a look at how development is going in the background. We've mentioned before that we're working on Editor 2.0, a bigger release with a lot of new features and some major fixes. We've decided to take a different route to get there. We'll reach 2.0 through smaller, more regular public updates instead of one long stretch of silence followed by a single big release. That way improvements reach you sooner, you stay in the loop on what we're building, and you hear from us regularly. Expect an update roughly every month or every other month, along with more about our plans for the Editor as we go.What's in Editor 1.1 Encounter Manager This one was planned for a later stage, but so many of you asked for it that we moved it up. It's in your hands now. Bug Report tool You'll fin…
- Update notes for 1.0.26 - 15 May 2026
We have added a new video API, which should make video playback smoother; video assets should now loop more seamlessly, with fewer visible hitches at the loop point. Stuttering because of refresh rate mismatch If your primary and secondary displays use different refresh rates, you may experience stuttering or uneven video playback. This is not a Dynamic Dungeons Editor-specific issue, but a common limitation of dual-monitor systems. It can become especially noticeable when two 4K videos are playing simultaneously, one on the GM screen and the other in the Editor Player Window on the extended screen. For the best playback experience, make sure both displays use the same refresh rate, and preferably higher than 30 Hz. We strongly recommend setting both the monitor and the connected TV/display to 60 Hz whenever possible.

Fixed several missing color reset options in different parts of the editor. AoE objects can now be created by clicking their icon, spawning them at the center of the screen. While in AoE / Measurement mode, clicking a prop will automatically switch to Prop mode, and vice versa.

We also improved the Editor by integrating the AoE tool hierarchy and adjusting the UI to make area-of-effect tools easier to grab and move. Thank you very much for your patience and support.

- Bug fixes - 4 July 2024
In early July, we released a patch to Editor to fix that FOW did not respect background rotation, and the scaling of rotated AOE tools was not working properly, and that the size of the fast scene selector could not be adjusted. Unfortunately, a bug slipped in during the process, which caused the background and the props to lose their rotation values when leaving the scene. Today we fixed this bug with a hotfix. The only way we could do this was to make FOW inactive as long as no background is loaded into the scene. If you want to work on a scene without a background, load the black background from the deafult assets if you want to use Fog of War. Ctrl + scrolling the mouse let you change the size of tiles in the fast scene selector.

Scrolling the mouse changes the size of the masking brush. Hold Shift to redraw) Added "ESC" (exit application pop-up) in the Welcome screen and in the Story View screen Fast Scene selector window size increased Webms start from a random frame (so animated tokens do not move at the same time) Bug fixes: Fixed Fog of War tool becomes invisible if we zoom in/out Dragging background with right-cli…
- Prioritising new features of the Dynamic Dungeons Editor (Steam version) - 11 August 2023
Hey there Dynamic Dungeons Editor users, Our desire to upgrade Dynamic Dungeons Editor and fix any bugs is still unwavering, thus a new editor update is yet to come in the upcoming months. As we are not programmers, a new Unity developer team is now tasked with developing Editor. This is a new team taking over and testing every bug and dealing with feature requests. In case you have noticed a reoccurring bug then please let us now! (If you have contacted us already but the bug still exists it means we have not been able to reproduce it yet. If this is the case, then please message us again using this bug report form, and at the same time you might as well want to send us a video with the problem itself.) As far as feature requests are concerned, we must add that we don’t intend to compete with other mapmaking applications, as Editor is mainly a player software focusing on displaying the…
