- Patch v1.26.03 - 11 September 2026
- Minor changes for Steam Deck compatibility. - You can now use the right stick as well as the left stick when using Character Switcher on the gamepad.
- Patch v1.26.02 - 2 September 2026
I'll be making actual suggestion-related changes a bit later.Right now I really want to get rid of that stupid possible freeze/crash issue and I think that should help a lot. Heavily reduced garbage collection on level load, which could possibly reduce/resolve the issue with loading some levels. This came at a cost of: Removing the world outline script. It never really worked properly in the main builds anyway, only in the editor. So... it shouldn't be very noticeable, in my opinion. My FSR implementation was so shit, it actually CAUSED performance issues when enabled. No more low quality FSR. Sorry folks. If you are a Deck user, you should be able to force to use it system wise if you still need it.Minor fix to pre-pooling of the visual effects.Stripped UI elements from the doppelganger prefab so it doesn't cause a major garbage collection spike on level start, when using Enerith via Div…
- Minor collision fix for Mission 8. - 29 August 2026
- Fixed an invisible wall leftover in Mission 8. Was actually going to push this one quietly but well, a fix is a fix. Let me know if anything's broken.
- Re: Crashing/Freezing on level transition. - 29 August 2026
Hello fellas.I've been informed that some PC configurations can crash or freeze while loading the reworked levels, it's a bit unusual to me as there hasn't been any significant changes to code for level related stuff, just level geometry and placement of triggers.Currently, I have no way to reproduce this issue. I've tested on two PC configurations without an issue. If someone here has a PC config that could reproduce this crash, let me know so I can get this fixed. Thanks, in the meantime I'll be digging into the game to find out what the hell could be possibly causing this problem. If I find something I'll let you all know.
- Patch v1.26 (Main) - 24 August 2026
Wow. (i've been recompiling these two days because of minor things i notice and then fix, help.)Been a while since I released something stable. Sorry about that. Life's been busy. That being said, this is likely it for a long while, I'm still keeping my eye on some things, but there's a lot of other things that require my attention, unfortunately. Both game making related, and not so game making related.Still, the next few updates will likely be focused on improving the steam deck compatibility, as I am going to resubmit the game to be checked, and if there's something real bad, they'll let me know.Don't worry, as I've said before, I am still 100% here for fixing any bugs that still pop up, so if there's anything that's screwed, lemme know. I still have a few things left in my mind, but... I might actually end up prototyping something else if I get the time to it.Still, I don't want to…

- Patch v1.25.13.4b (Beta channel) - 2 August 2026
Sorry folks, my job and my meds have been killing me hard lately. Lot's of... unexpected monetary things that needed my attention, as well.Like I've been barely existing. Got most of these things done on the weekend.Anyway, I'm looking into improving Steam Deck support from the feedback I've recieved from the Deck Verification stuff. Most of the changes below are meant to reflect that. This should also improve controller compatibility in general.Something something, to join to beta test it go to the game's properties settings and pick beta_unstable, keep in mind these changes are work in progress so joining that channel could lead to some bugs and stuff.Changelog below: A music track variation has been added to a certain mission. Added visual buttons of Attack/Shoot/Style Action/Lock on in the upgrades menu to make it easier to understand the movelist. (Still not as good as showing icons…
- Patch v1.25.13.3b (Beta channel) - 19 July 2026
Something something, to join to beta test it go to the game's properties settings and pick beta_unstable, ya know the drill. This beta update brings a rework of Mission 8, Mission 8 was, and still is very important. However, the traversal was rather confusing and not fun on the first play-through. Therefore, to fix its many issues it has been reworked. This beta update also brings a few other small things, which are listed below.Added a visual effect for collecting crystalized blood. I want to add it to the rest of the collectibles also. Can't get on rails in combat anymore to prevent some issues.Camera shake should no longer depend on the framerate. (Might be a bit too strong now. Let me know.)Minor CPU performance improvements in some areas.Fixed an issue where the weapon material switch (to highlight the attack) didn't work on a specific enemy.Fixed a small issue where some breakable o…
- Patch v1.25.13.2b (Beta channel) - 6 July 2026
I'm feeling like "Title Screen - Billiard 2008".As per usual, let me know if you have any feedback regarding the changes or if I broke something large by accident, ya can let me know by emailing me, posting a post on the forums, or joining the dead discord server.Something something, to join to beta test it go to the game's properties settings and pick beta_unstable.Added boost pad video tutorial in the game, when in tutorial, or first encountering the boost pads, you can now use a hint that explains how to use them. (These hint videos only appear when the game was not beaten, so you might not see them.)Added missing translation data for the old mission layouts in the extras menu.Adjusted enemy blob shadows so they don't clip through the ground/go invisible in some areas.Boost pad speed can now stack a bit.Boost pads now don't have weird collisions and better feel.Boost pads now show it…
- Patch v1.25.13 (Beta channel) - 29 June 2026
Welcome to another update that is big enough to require testing. As per usual, I'm happy to make the changes based on feedback, so let me know if something's broken or if there are any other changes you would like to see. I might not be the best at it, but I try, lol.Feel free to post the feedback on either Steam Forums, our very DEAD Discord, or send me an email at [email protected], whichever works for ya. (Just make sure to mention you are using the beta channel if you're on beta)This time its to reduce the more annoying/non fun parts of the Missions, and to shorten those that overstay their welcome. As a general reminder, to switch to the beta updates you gotta open the game's properties on Steam and change the channel to beta_unstable.Here's the changes for now: Shamir - Preservation is now included in the base kit. That means that him running outside of combat no longer us…
- Patch v1.25.12 - 14 June 2026
lemme know if anything's broken - Fixed an issue with Inverse Kinematics for the character's legs not being disabled when using a moving platform, causing the character's legs to look a bit weird. - Fixed Enertih's ct drain not working anymore. I guess when I was making changes to the way doppelganger was working I accidentally removed it. Oops. - Fixed a missing material in Mission 06.- Also fixed an issue where Huntress (CAG) could get flung off when using any of the moves on the rail.
- Patch v1.25.11 - 13 June 2026
me found the cause - Fixed an issue that prevented users from using the gamepad to get rid of the disclaimer on the first install on a new device. - Also fixed an issue that prevented gamepad from working in the main menu on the first install even after the player confirmed the agreement using mouse and keyboard or the touch screen (on the Steam Deck.) lemme know if anything else's broken
- Patch v1.25.10 - 6 June 2026
lemme know if anything's broken, i'll get to it, just need time because holy hell im busy - Fixed an issue where the gamepad couldn't switch the target again when character switcher was enabled. I changed the binding but I just forgot to remove the check for character switcher being turned on... whoops. - Fixed a few incorrect descriptions in Enerith's movelist. - Fixed an issue where Dominika would inherit objects of other characters when using Character Switcher. - Fixed an issue related to Dominika's kicks when not utilizing lock on. It was utilizing a gun timer created for other characters and was not supposed to be applied to her kicks. That being said, I also reduced the kick delay a bit so it feels nicer. I also had a report that gamepad controls don't seem to work on the steam deck anymore, if anyone else can check and test it, that would be greatly appreciated, as the only thin…
- Patch v1.25.9 - 30 May 2026
Yup, lemme know if anything's broken. - Stage timer now counts seconds more accurately. Meaning if you use turbo mode, the stage time will be correct instead of higher than expected. - Fixed an issue where one of the pages in the Upgrades menu didn't get disabled correctly, causing issues with gamepad navigation. It was picking buttons from the first page instead of the second one. That caused different previews and sometimes caused the player to buy different upgrades by accident when using the gamepad. - Fixed an out of range error when using Upgrades menu of Enerith. It didn't actually brick anything in the game, but I noticed and fixed it anyway. - Fixed an issue where gamepad's pointer/cursor had some issues in the training mode, it tried to control training settings even when other menus were enabled, now gamepad navigation in menus of the training mode works correctly.
- Patch v1.25.8 - 25 May 2026
Lemme know if anything's broken.Guard mode / Shield - CT drain on activation was removed, unless spammed. - Now the CT drain begins after holding the style action button for half a second. Basically, this allows you to use the shield for parrying more often, as it doesn't drain CT immidiately. To compensate for the adjustments, the usual drain after half a second is now faster, and the spammed drain is also higher. This applies to all characters that can use Guard mode or the Shield. - Minor improvements to slash effect duration. - Fixed an issue where Skip Intro and Skip Tram ride didn't work on new save files for new players. (Wow.) - Added a UI element to the tram ride to make it more obvious that you can speed up the ride by using Style Action. - Character Switcher - On the gamepad now only activates when not using the lock on button, this is to make sure that target switching and c…
- Patch v1.25.7 - 18 May 2026
Just minor changes, as per usual if something's broken just let me know I'll fix it. - Fixed Try Again text not being set in the correct position in the credits. - Fixed an issue where character switcher's gamepad ui would be visible in the workshop uploader. - Fixed an issue where Shamir used old shader in the credits scene, causing him to not recieve the scene's lighting. ...And I am also working on a new project. Although I don't have much to show just yet.
- Patch v1.25.6 - 30 April 2026
- Fixed charged shot related issues. My apolocheese. Let me know if anything else is broken.
- Patch v1.25.5 - 13 April 2026
- Fixed constant combat music in New World. - Fixed an exception error OnTriggerEnter for dialogue related triggers, if some other object or enemy enters it in the start of the Mission. Rare and stupid. - Fixed the new sky not reducing it's brightness when the night comes in the New World. - Removed a deprecated tip. - Improved Grindrail behavior, now they should accept the mounting direction properly. - Re-introduced gradual day unlocking in post-game, and converted it to utilize the normal save file for unlocking instead of playerprefs, so the progress can be saved in a save file. Not doing real-life days for this change cause some lads wanted to do it all in one day instead of throughout multiple. The last visited day will be used for the conversion to the save file, so if your last played day was 2, it'll save as 2 until you unlock the rest. Lemme know if anything's broken.
- Patch v1.25.4 - 9 April 2026
- Fixed one whole typo on the loading screen. - Fixed a few issues with the charged weapon sound and visual effects continuing to play constantly when they shouldn't under certain conditions. - Fixed an issue where button mashing state for mashing attacks... okay, one attack - wouldn't get reset right when dialogues started. - Fixed performance issues in Mission 12 on Linux related to a certain mirror's shader being messy on Vulkan. There's a small issue related to grindable rails right now, but it doesn't affect gameplay currently if you use them as expected, i.e get on and hold forward. I'll investigate that tho. Lemme know if anything's broken.
