  • SPINE Q&A: Game Director Answers Your Top Questions - 20 May 2026

You asked. We answered. Over 500 questions came in during Full Contact Week. Game Director Dmitry Pimenov went through them and answered the most popular ones personally. Here's all of it. When is the release date?Hey Gun Fu gang, Fair question, and I'll be honest about where we are. We announced SPINE earlier than we probably should have - back then we wanted to develop in dialog with you and potential partners rather than in silence, and I still think that was the right call, even if it's made the wait longer. We're not going to announce a date until we're certain about the game. The team is heads-down on the final stretch right now, and when we do commit, it'll be to a date when we'll be sure that everything is done right. Thank you for the patience - it means more than I can put into a post. The good news is, a real update is coming in the next few months! Will there be a demo?Right…

  • SPINE Development Blog: Progress Upload 1.4 - 25 March 2026

We're entering the final stage of development. Which means our monthly devblogs are going to get more and more interesting. Here's this month's:1. Freeflow Combat EvolvedSPINE's combat system is becoming more brutal and fast-paced, yet elegant – while maintaining the flow we seek. That's the result of months of iteration, community feedback, and internal playtesting. But we still have a lot of work to do.2. Between the FightsCutscenes are where the story lives. The characters, the relationships, the reasons behind everything you're doing in the game – that's what we're building through them. We've been working on this side of SPINE just as hard as the combat, and it shows.Take Edda Kopp, for example. You've met her. Now you've really seen her.3. I Get That ReferenceAction cinema is in SPINE's DNA. We've gone through the whole library – and it bleeds into everything. This one grew out of…

  • SPINE Development Blog: Progress Upload 1.3 - 20 February 2026

Hello, Tensor Citizens! The shortest month of the year doesn’t mean that we have less to share with you in our Development Blog. It only means that we can do it faster and even dive a little deeper this time. So let’s jump right into it!Battle EmotionsEven though we will see her from behind most of the time (which is certainly not a bad thing, thanks to the Spine, another character 😏), Redline's vibrant personality should be conveyed not only through her appearance but also through her lively facial expressions. Therefore, we’re continuing to work on them actively, with all our inherent animation fanaticism. If there’s an option available, we're using it. Redline’s face, for instance animated with Blendshapes support and motion capture of the voice actress's face so that every Red's emotion is brighter than the muzzle flashes of her guns.Spine’s VisionAnd now, for the important part of…

  • 🤖 SPINE Development Blog: Progress Upload 1.1 - 23 January 2026

Hello, Tensor Citizens! In 2026, our team is back to business, stronger than ever. So we’re here once again with the new batch of some SPINE development insights from the last few weeks! Let’s crack this open.Just Like a MovieWhen we talk about SPINE, we’re always focusing on the gameplay’s cinematic feeling. But cutscenes, both pre-rendered and engine-based, are crucial for deeper players’ immersion in the story. This is My SpineWe’ve mentioned multiple times that Redline isn’t the only Spine owner in Tensor City. Every implant is unique to its owner, not only in terms of abilities but, of course, in design. To make them more distinct and personal for each owner, we add special visual effects. Here’s Edda Kopp’s Spine, for example. It's always stay's calm and fluid, like the character itself. In contrast to Redline's Spine, who reacts to extreme situations.Things in MotionCombat system…

  • 💾 SPINE Development Blog: Progress Upload 1.0 - 19 December 2025

Hello, Tensor Citizens! Our development blog is evolving. How’s it going now? Monthly drops of what’s happening and changing in SPINE development. Visuals first, words second.Get DirtyRedline’s life became a non-stop battle after she decided to join forces with combat implant Spine. And no one can come out of a fight unscathed. Even Redline. To emphasize this, we added a little dirt to our heroine, which will only increase as the game progresses, because the situation never gets any brighter towards the end, especially in cyberpunk.Disrespect Your Surroundings Speaking of battles. Not only Redline's look will have to pass the endurance test, but so will the environment around her. Because what kind of Gun Fu can we talk about when the environment does not participate in the fight? Even if only as a casualty of the effects. Shaping SPINE TogetherYour feedback had the greatest impact on S…

  • 🎥 SPINE Development Blog: Cinematic Camera - 11 August 2025

Hello, Tensor Citizens!Throughout this whole Development Blog series, we’ve always described SPINE as cinematic, where every level feels like a short action movie. But here’s the question: how do we make it feel that way without taking control away from you?In today’s devblog, we’re diving into one of the boldest design challenges we’ve taken on in SPINE development: building what our Game Director, Dmitry Pimenov, calls an "action movie within a game." The result is our Intellectual Camera System. It doesn’t just follow the action. It shapes the scene, supports the flow of combat, and knows when to get out of your way.🎬 Action That Stays PlayableLet’s face it: cinematic games often shine the brightest when you’re not even touching the controller. But that’s not how we wanted SPINE to feel. From day one, our goal was to make every dramatic moment fully playable — from rooftop duels and…

  • SPINE Turns Every Fight Into a Balletic Gun-Fu Thrill Ride - 4 July 2025

I walked into SPINE at Summer Game Fest 2025 with high expectations. The neon-soaked streets of Tensor City seemed to offer a rich, vibrant world, and developer Nekki provided a glimpse of what it’s like to play as Redline—a graffiti artist turned revolutionary—in their upcoming cyberpunk action game. And I’m intrigued. After spending 20 minutes with this stylish gun-fu brawler, I walked away thinking Nekki has crafted something special—a game that doesn’t just pay homage to John Wick ’s balletic violence but elevates it into an interactive art form. SPINE places players in control of Redline, a red-haired artist whose life is turned upside down when she receives a sentient spinal implant. This isn’t just any cybernetic enhancement—the implant, simply called Spine, becomes her combat companion in the fight against the oppressive Tensor AI regime that controls her city. The premise immed…

  • 🛠 SPINE Development Blog: Spinemations - 28 May 2025

Hello, Tensor Citizens. You’ve probably seen our latest trailer — and yes, SPINE’s gameplay looks sharper than ever. That’s thanks to how far we’ve pushed our Freeflow Combat system and polished our animations. In this devblog, we sat down with our Head of Animation, Evgeniy Khapugin, to crack open the animation vault. From real stunt choreography to our in-house Cascadeur toolkit, here’s how we bring SPINE’s Gun Fu combat to life. Motion Capture Meets Gun Fu SPINE is built to feel like a blockbuster action movie — fluid, fast, and grounded. To get there, we heavily rely on full-body mocap recorded with Xsens suits. For regular in-game actions, we often step into the suits ourselves. But for complex fights and stunts, we bring in professional stunt performers and martial artists who choreograph entire sequences combining martial arts and gunplay. Evgeniy: “We don’t capture moves in isol…

  • Spine release date window, trailers, gameplay, and latest news - 7 March 2025

When is the Spine release date? If you're a fan of John Woo films that mix kung fu with pistols, then it's likely that Spine is on your wishlist. In the cyberpunk dystopian streets, the Tensor AI has taken over the city and is behind the authority's power via drones to suppress rebellions. Spine puts us in the role of Redline, who has a vendetta against the AI and its ruling elite and will stop at nothing to make them pay. Gun Fu fans will likely have to wait a long time to play Spine , which is a shame since it has an appealing cyberpunk game aesthetic. This story-based action-adventure game promises a tense "movie-like experience," that takes advantage of choreography and camera techniques. With that in mind, here's everything we know about the Spine release date window, trailers, and more. Read the rest of the story... RELATED LINKS: Dark fantasy roguelike Ravenswatch is adding two f…

  • SPINE Development Blog: Bosses - 13 February 2025

Hello, Tensor citizens! Today, we want to discuss one of our game's most important aspects: Bosses. What makes them special, how do we design them, and why do they stand out? The answer is a unique approach to their development. Still, we don't want to spoil all the fun, so we promise not to tell too much and keep the element of surprise. So, we talked to our senior game designer, Dmitry Oshchepkov, who outlined the principles and foundations of our special approach to developing every nuance of exciting boss fights in SPINE. What Makes a Great Boss? Before we started developing boss fights, the team and I agreed that they would stick to the SPINE’s core gameplay pillars: Freeflow Gun Fu combat, cinematic presentation, responsive controls, and that all-important feeling of being the action movie hero. But bosses need something extra to stand apart. So we set a few points that have to ma…

Short description

SPINE is a single-player action game about close-quarters gunfights with aesthetics of Gun Fu movies. Step into the stunning cyberpunk world with rebellious street artist Redline and her sentient combat implant Spine as they defy the autocratic AI regime in search of Redline's captured brother.

About this game

WISHLIST SPINE About the Game SPINE is a single-player cinematic action game where close-quarters gunfights meet Gun Fu combat. Play as Redline, a rebellious street artist equipped with Spine — a sentient combat implant with a mind of its own — and fight through a cyberpunk city ruled by an autocratic AI regime. In Tensor City — a technocratic megacity built by an AI for humanity to survive the ecological collapse of the world outside — your value is a number. Tensor City’s Social Rating decides who eats, who works, and who gets thrown away, splitting the city between the gleaming New City above and the rotting Old City below. Redline, a rebel street artist, scrapes by in the slums, until a mafia heist goes wrong and costs her everything including her brother. To get him back, she acquires a sentient combat implant called Spine and together they go in search of her brother. SPINE is built to feel like a playable cyberpunk action movie. We created a special combat camera that keeps you close to Redline during the fights which makes you feel like you're in the middle of a movie. You're always in control, but gameplay looks like an action blockbuster! Enjoy a thrilling fusion of cinematic gunplay and beat 'em up, built around Freeflow Combat. A system where every action feeds the next and momentum never breaks. Dodge a point-blank shot, disarm your attacker and turn his own gun against him. Parry an incoming attack with a spectacular, cinematic counter that reframes the whole fight. Chain it all into brutal finishers that end an encounter in style. Take weapons from your enemies, use the space around you, and improvise as the chaos escalates. And when the regime sends its Children of Tensor after you, unique boss fights pit you against spinebearers who are faster, stronger, and built to be unbeatable — each demanding a different approach. Every fight is an artistic canvas for your own style of combat. Enter Tensor City, a neon cyberpunk megacity built above a collapsing world. A digital dystopia where corporate tyranny, constant surveillance, and AI-driven social rating decide the value of every human life. Explore the contrast between the gleaming, utopian f…

Steam marketplace comparison data

Price History Overview

USD uses SteamPulse's own locally recorded daily store snapshots, so this overview reflects the exact regional price history that SteamPulse has captured for this currency.

Coverage And Tracking Window

  • Snapshots: 1
  • Coverage: Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026
  • Lowest observed: $0.00
  • Highest observed: $0.00

SPINE - This is Gun Fu's USD price history spans from Sep 22, 2026 to Sep 22, 2026, with 1 recorded snapshot across 1 calendar day. Each row records the available final price, listed base price, and discount metadata for that observation. Within this coverage the lowest recorded price is $0.00, the highest is $0.00, and the first visible tracked price is $0.00. These comparisons apply only to the snapshots SteamPulse holds; missing observations can contain changes that are not represented here.

For USD, SteamPulse uses locally captured regional storefront snapshots and does not reconstruct older prices with exchange-rate conversion. The chart and table show the values recorded for this exact currency from the stated coverage start. Additional snapshots extend that record, but they do not fill unobserved days or prove what the storefront displayed between observations.

Discount Windows And Sale Timing

  • Discount windows: 0
  • Discounted days: 0 days
  • Deepest markdown: No discount tracked
  • Latest sale window: No sale window tracked

SPINE - This is Gun Fu's tracked USD rows do not contain a discount window. This means no available snapshot in the stated coverage has usable discount metadata; it does not prove that the game was never discounted. Missing snapshots or archived rows without complete metadata can hide a sale, so SteamPulse does not infer pricing strategy from this absence.

If a later snapshot includes discount metadata, it will appear here with its recorded depth, price, date, and sale name when available. Until then, this section should be read only as a description of the available rows, not as evidence about the publisher's promotion policy.

Observed Price Changes And Stable Runs

  • Observed price drops: 0
  • Observed price rises: 0
  • Longest stable run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking
  • Current run: 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking

Outside rows carrying discount metadata, the tracked price has not recorded a separate price rise or drop yet. That means the observed undiscounted level has stayed stable across the snapshots SteamPulse currently holds. This is a statement about the recorded coverage only; it does not prove that an older or missing price change never happened.

The longest unchanged price stretch in the current record lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00, from Sep 22, 2026 through Sep 22, 2026. Among rows without discount metadata, the longest unchanged run lasts 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking at $0.00. The latest run records $0.00 for 1 day of uninterrupted daily tracking as the same recorded undiscounted price. Run lengths describe consecutive stored observations only and do not establish that a price is permanent.

Latest Snapshot And Sales Context

  • Current price: $0.00
  • Current list price: $0.00
  • Distinct observed prices: 1
  • Source mode: SteamPulse local tracking

The latest tracked snapshot records SPINE - This is Gun Fu at $0.00 in USD, with no active discount metadata. Across the available history SteamPulse has recorded 1 distinct final price in this currency. This supports comparisons with the lowest, highest, and most common values present in the retained record, subject to the stated coverage limits.

The live sales view and Steam sales record provide calendar context for these dates. A date overlap can be compared with a named Steam event, but it does not prove why a publisher changed a price. As new daily rows arrive, this overview recalculates its observed prices, discount windows, and run lengths automatically.
